    It took me four tries but following your instructions I am repairing a bedroom carpet using a carpet cutter.
    I’ll tape it tomorrow. I ran out of time scrubbing the blood out of the carpet.

    Good demonstration. You ever use the cut out piece as a template? Place the old piece on top of your new piece and trace around the old spot. Depending the size of patch.
    I do like your first demonstration the most.

      I'll try that next time I do a patch for sure, sometimes it moves around too much.
      I guess I just got used to stuffing it underneath the carpet 😂

    GREAT tips man! Thank you so much we have a puppy and he just got into the corner by the door jam and need to do a repair so it was VERY helpful to know to the right tools to have and use to make a seamless looking patch. Of course Berlin(our Min Pin) pulled up the corner and torn up the edges one week before we got our “notice of apartment inspection” on our door. Like come onnn. I’m very handy and can fix literally anything but when it comes to carpet everyone thinks they can do it easily but I’m wise enough to know to research professionals with their tools and methods so make sure the patch doesn’t show up when new management does their walk through. Thanks for much for the help I’m on my way to Home Depot to get the tools you suggested to do it the correct way, how you do it, so it blends in and we don’t get bitched at haha. Great video thanks again!

      Thank you! I use seam tape similar to this if I'm using my hot melt iron - www.tools4flooring.com/orcon-k-40-hot-melt-seam-tape.html

    Hey Nick,
    How long does it take you to do a carpet patch the size of the example in the video?

    • @justsaygold
      @justsaygold  4 роки тому +1

      One like this would take me about 10 minutes I think. I've never timed myself but I will next time I do a patch! Great idea!

    WHERE CAN YOU RENT A COOL GLIDE CARPET SEAM TOOL ?

      I'm not sure who rents those out, maybe a local carpet store would.

    You have a micro wave iron? Trying to see how you finish the last side. I use an iron. Under breath. Have to pull out. The first side I'm going to leave 3-5 inches unburned tape. Just enough to pull the iron out at the end. Don't do these enough. Most live with stains. Lol.

      Alright sorry for the late reply, here is a video showing 4 ways to actually glue the patch in - ua-cam.com/video/kW4A_jkDc5M/v-deo.html
      It does get a little tricky if you're using a regular hot-melt iron, I never really liked doing it that way since it's kind of a pain finishing the patch like you said.

  • @dhambone825919
    @dhambone825919 2 роки тому +1

    Y you not show how you burn it‽ that's what people are going to struggle with.

      @@dhambone825919 i have other videos showing that, I'm at a job now but I'll send them to you later today.

      Got a 2x2 patch so I'll have to do all sides separate. I was thinking I leave few inches at the start so I can melt it at the end and have room to pull iron out. Make sense? Lmk

    The cut is everything doesn’t matter how you cut as long as you know the point of what your doing
