Large damaging tornado plowing through Taylorville, IL, with tornado sirens and multiple power flashes 12 1 2018
This has got to be the most destructive tornado I’ve seen yet! The ASC T-128 sirens sure sound eerie and epic, especially with those echoes. I absolutely love how it gives you a cool “fireworks” display by pretty much disintegrating all of the electrical lines in it’s path. I REALLY hope it didn’t touch any houses though and claim any lives with them
Pretty much everyone’s worst nightmare right there... night time violent tornado...
Any tornado storm at night is scary
A good amount of town is still a mess and it's been over 2mo
@@jackylnhyde interesting
We were one of the people that were devastated and it was horrible I was at a friends house and my parents were at their house and all the sudden my mom called me and said that my aunt Tony was hurt saverly and was airlifted to st.louis hospital with a broken neck and more severe injuries. And 8months later she was finally out the tornado and is doing amazing now. I just wanted to say that god helped us through the hardest times ever and that we survive
This tornado was the next town over from me and it was weird because we had no rain or nothing. i could just see the dark clouds to my left. prayers for everyone in Taylorville
My parents are in Auburn. They got minor Damage. Taylorville got hit and hard. Please pray for them. People are stuck in their homes and under debris.
I live in Taylorville pretty much have my whole life was so sad and heartbreaking 💔
Night tornado tearing things up....
Poor people can't see it coming, just hear it.
Stop thru this town now, and then. Nicest people I ever met. They will just come up, and start a conversation with you. Hope the best in their recovery. Great catch on this video.
wow!! night time tornado, prayers for Taylorsville
Thanks buddy
Dude! This is like the eeriest video I have seen from you! Maybe because I have earbuds in, so I suggest to watchers to earbud it! Just very creepy and very, very cool! Gr8 job once again! STAY SAFE! ❤
Wow that's a big one...
That's what she said🤣
This night was absolutely crazy. Where exactly were you filming from?
I was there when it happened but a little further away. I recorded my point of view and uploaded it but this way better. I tried to help people afterwards but it was impossible to get through due to all the traffic.
The tornado literally jumped over are house
Was driving to see this thing. Started seeing all the power flashes so we turned around. Also took a look at beardstown that night too. Good thing we had to take my grandma back home to my stelring IL. What an adventurous night it was. Praying for those who need it
Half of Taylorville lost power & those sirens were basically the last warning a lot of us got. My power flickered throughout the entire storm and I knew it had spawned from that point on
Wow
I was on the outskirts of the tornado
Is that normal to see all that blue for a nighttime tornado?
Power flashes
O MY GOOD GOD :'(
I remember tracking this storm on radar before it hit Taylorville.. as soon as I saw that tight couplet my heart dropped..I also feared that the storm would cycle and drop another tornado and head NE towards where I live (Colfax).. which it also did. Luckily we only got minor damage here. Wondering what the survey will say, considering the EMS Alert I got said it was a “large and dangerous tornado”
We had 3 vortexes through uptown Taylorville
How many people got hurt or kill in this one
30 injured, no deaths so far.
Do they need help looking for people trapped inside there home and cars and stuff like that
Nobody died in the tornado and I was in the tallorville il when my house was split in to three
Nocturnal Violent Maxi Wedge Tornado 🌪
Great positioning on the storm as the tornado passes with in a few miles...
I wonder if a thermal lens / IR could pick-up the funnel better at night of the Full Meso Cyclone
In the name of the Father Son and Holly Ghost be with these people
Why did the sirens stop?
They have a 3 minute time limit. They shut off after 3 minutes to prevent the motor that produces the sound from overheating. They can be re-activated however multiple times to generate a longer warning sound.
@@matteng1997 oh see I didn't know that. I'd be the dummy coming out of my basement after the siren ended.
They had em go on twice. It was the first time we ever did that. At four they had it go, then at touch down they had it a few minutes before & while it was going on.
They stop because the system was hit and killed by the storm too no power they will not go off again
Taylorville's system has battery backup. It was at the end of the 3 minute cycle.
Only 220 miles away from me 😟
I live in bloomington like 30 minutes from us
Umm that’s a pretty long way from you tornadoes can’t even travel that far
Topey 91 I was in Springfield while this was happening. This is crazy.
I live in Chamapign
I was only a half a block away...
What was it rated?
Nobody knows yet, damage surveys will be conducted tomorrow though and then we will get the rating
I heard possible EF5
Ian Stevens-Estes no way. That would be crazy. Ef5 in December, in Illinois holy shit
There was an F5 tornado in Sunfield, Illinois on December 18, 1957.
It was rated an EF3...
Wow nature just get one more laugh before you throw snow in our face
