In the past two years, we have been affected by the cancellations and restrictions just like many other artists out there, and could not present our Human. :II: Nature. album with live shows all across the globe yet. Now, this is about to change with a full European tour taking place in November and December 2022.
As a special, limited release right on time with tour start, on November 18th, we present the Human. :II: Nature. (Tour Edition) as luxurious 2CD plus Blu-ray Digipak including the recent album alongside the Virtual Live Show From The Islanders Arms 2021 on Blu-ray - region code free for the first time - to cater their gigantic global audience! Originally available just as DVD release, and on Blu-ray in Japan, this new edition is the ultimate version to re-experience this unique and magical show NIGHTWISH created after their world tour had to be cancelled.
Half a year in preparation and premiered on May 28 and May 29, 2021 , An Evening with Nighwish in a Virtual World was not just a regular streaming show. It was an exceptionally ambitious production, allowing fans to follow the band playing live in an astonishing 3D world, designed according to the band’s vision, while interacting with each other. Also, songs from our latest album Human. :II: Nature. were debuted live to a massive audience consisting of more than 150.000 fans from 108 countries!

About 30 people from seven different countries, many of them long-time fans, put everything they had into the game to craft a high quality virtual concert featuring a NIGHTWISH-themed tavern, elaborate animations and 3D models that provided an atmospheric and inimitable stage for the group’s 100 minutes long, stellar career-spanning set brilliantly mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox.

You are the best band! I lost my eyesight when I was 26 years old and I'm blind lady. But I never give up and now I paint by touch. You inspire me so much! Youre songs are amazing!!!
Not many bands can hit it that perfect live, outstanding!!
That's always been a big hang-up of mine. I rarely like live performances and tend to prefer the studio versions of music I like. Almost no one is as good live and then they like to get experimental and ruin their known and loved songs. Some bands, though, not only are as good, but add to their live performances in ways you can't get listening to the original. I find myself listening almost exclusively to Nightwish's live songs more than not. They are almost always as good, if not better.
Other bands who I think are similar are U2 and Kula Shaker, in that, usually, their live performances are just as good, but I like that both of them also like to add extra verses you never heard before. Then it's hard not to listen to those songs primarily, such as U2's With or Without You and One (the really old live ones with extra verses) and Kula Shaker's Die for Love, among others. I really like what they add to those performances.
I was freaked out beyond belief after many years of wishing a lot of Ayreon songs had been performed live when Arjen finally did it and most of it was as good or better than the original. Of course, Floor, herself, featured in many of those. It was in My House on Mars where I first heard her and I have followed her through her many projects since. I liked a lot of After Forever, but I wanted her to spend more time with Ayreon. I couldn't believe, honestly, how much Arjen seemed to downplay her singing in his comments way back then. I'm sure he must think a whole lot more of it than he said, especially in all of the time that's passed and the fact that he's worked with her many times over the years since. Her versatility just keeps smacking you in the face in a new way all of the time.
Surprisingly, since Nightwish first appeared over twenty years ago, I didn't really like them. It was when Floor merged with them that I started to notice. Now they are among my two favorite things to listen to (the other being Ayreon, obviously). Could it be that Tarja and Anette just really sucked?
Sorry, but Floor has all of the range of Tarja AND Freddie Mercury, as well as the versatility of the latter while possessing infinitely beyond that of the former. Tarja can only do one thing and it's stuffy and sounds like she has an actual stick stuck up there. She even holds herself and looks that way (and her disposition reflects the same, from what I hear).
Admit it, Floor. You would never say it out loud, but it's true and that just the comparison at all is just funny as hell. Tuomas didn't even know how Tarja sang. They were friends and he just figured it would work, I guess. I very much got the sense that they weren't quite sure what to do with it, but Tuomas is arguably a virtuoso and a genius (and maybe too nice?) and could work with anything he was given.
Oh, yeah, did I not have a thing to say about Anette's voice? Oh, well...
Marko, Tuomas and Floor together are the perfect trifecta. I think hero worship is wrong, by and large, but it's hard to remember that in the face of these three. I must say that it has to be some kind of magic. I think Tuomas, in particular, knows that things don't just click like this almost ever. It's kind of fucked up for any one of them to be the reason it happens. Everybody seemed shocked and hurt by it, as gracious as they tried to be. It seems so much like the Prodigal Son that the outcome MUST be inevitable, which is why the Henry Higgins quote automatically comes to mind: "Get up, come home and don't be a fool!"
Floor's history also holds a lot of symmetry with my own, I find, albeit on a much larger scale. I also get the feeling that her confidence has been shaken lately, probably in part due to that) and it's really painful to see. I know she can get it back. I'm older and it happens to me (usually too much stress) and I always can get it back. Sometimes it's taken as much as a year, but it always comes back. I have to forget the sound of my own voice, listen deeply into the music and remember what I felt before when it worked.
I don't remember what else I had to say. Aren't you glad?

The guy who's mixing their songs in the studio must have the easiest job ever because of how perfect they sound live, no much needed. Perfection as always
But this was not mixed in a studio: the performance was live in a green room (ok everything was set ready including sound technicians), and broadcasted for streaming with a delay of 20 minutes (in case something went wrong). So there was no time for editing😮

Between watching the virtual concert and seeing you guys live in New York, I enjoyed every second. The album was just what I needed to help me get through these rough times.
