I really wish our fanbase was smart enough to not bash Justin Frye 24/7 on social media right when he is trying to land a badly needed 5 star tackle. Is it really so hard to wait until the recruitment is over and we see what happens before you trash the guy who is trying to convince David Sanders to come to Ohio State?!

The Sanders family are quality people looking to make a decision in the absolute best interest of David. Looking at the entire package: great academics, medical school opportunity in the future, number 1 recruiting class, top tier program, the brotherhood, an NFL pathway, great coaching, NIL, the connection to the Paris Johnson family; a very compelling package. I have faith in the Buckeyes opportunity.

Easily the most insightful and grounded OSU recruiting source. Great show as usual. Birm leaves no stone unturned. That we didn't play "prevent defense" and get Sanders on campus so he couldn't be wooed, and further bond with The Ops recruits absolutely boggles my mind. How stupid do you have to be? Or how arrogant? Especially given that ALL your eggs are in this one basket. Freakin' mind-boggling. Post bowl game, Day has been operating as if he knows his gig is on the line. That decision feels like the complete opposite of that.
They have done this before.... not pull out all the stops. It's irritating.
Sanders has made enough visits to Ohio State by now to know that they really, really want him, and he also knows what they have to offer in terms of early playing time on the offensive line. So, not having him in - for yet another visit - this past weekend in my mind is not a big deal because he already has the information to be able to make an informed decision.

There is another way to look at the Sanders visits. OSU may be leading and he wanted to take one more look at the other schools to see if he missed anything to vault them ahead.

We have real questions at OT after this year. You’d think that would be a pretty big advantage for OSU on the recruiting trail. Alabama has 4 OT committed 3 in the top 30 at the position, the other top 40. Wisconsin has 4 OT committed all are top 50 tackles. Notre Dame has 3 all 4 stars. LSU has 3 committed all top 40 at the position. Georgia is stacked at the position and is predicted to get 3, all top 25 OT’s
Frye HAS to go if he misses again. We have one good tackle and a super low end guard again. TWO O-linemen is not ok at OSU when you make over 1 million $
It was no accident that Eddie George won his Heisman running behind Orlando Pace . The big guys plow the way & keep QB's healthy .

If I’m not mistaken Stud signed 5 stars and he wasn’t an active recruiter the last couple of years due to serious health issues. There’s 0 excuses for Frye especially since he can point to Studs recruits in the NFL and state he “developed” them. He’s not Hartline, LJ, Walton, Chip or even Laurinitis. You can’t be selective, not build relationships and can’t close.
His small net approach angers me. One it's stupid, and 2 it's just excuse to not work as hard.

Considering all of our talent, our Oline has been performing atrociously.
So far, he hasn’t gotten it done and if he can’t this season, he needs to go.
Respectfully we gotta stop the talk about “we need veterans”. We need to develop the young guys into veterans. We need to substitute more and get the younger guys more reps imo.

I'm not sure we'll get him, but who went last won't play in to it. Now he has 17 days to compare in his mind and decide. How do you get ball over goal line? You have a great big left tackle. As far as Mathis, are we willing to match PSU? Not really sure. Do we value him as much as PSU? Birm just said it.

What do you all think the Buckeyes hesitancy is on offering 2026 Ohio RB Shahn Alston? He’s a four star, top 10 RB in the nation, and the #1 ranked RB in Ohio according to 247. What’s the hold up? I’d hate to see another Jordan Marshall situation because we waited too long on a local stud.
OSU needs to turn into Transfer Portal beast that it can - if 2025 Bucks gonna be Title Contender after mass exodus this offseason of key players - it’s not gonna matter what HS recruits get, 90 percent of those kids not ready to play yet - gonna have to go get elite proven College players to step in to start next year from Transfer Portal,period.
In the last 3 NFL drafts 35% of the first round picks were 3 stars or lower in recruiting rankings. David Sanders may well be a good college player but is he worth all the attention? Does he LOVE football? Does he have heart?

If the results are great then the process isn't the problem. Conversely if the results are not great then the process is the problem .

It would be great to land sanders, but I’ve hated the strategy of going all in on this one kid with only 2 guys committed on the Oline. Frye was dealt a good hand with Carter in state and committing early. By all accounts OT depth is a complete question mark so I’d think you’d want some numbers in this class. I always thought we should take 3 OT’s this cycle or 2 and a swing guy. My problem with Frye isn’t that he hasn’t landed 5star OT’s. My problem is he doesn’t seem to be in on any guys top 30 at the the position. A class of Carter Lowe with another top 30 OT would be great throw in a longer athletic gaurd with some tackle potential and thats a perfect haul in my opinion.
Also at what point does Carter Lowe start to say, hey I’m not just some chump, if you’re selling the farm for this guy you better bump up my offer too.
Because there are two OT spots on the OL 🤡 one for Carter Lowe and one for David Sanders Jr.... 🙄
If academics are as important as I have read Ohio State has the advantage. Game day at Neyland stadium is rivaled by few.

There is nothing comparable between Tennessee and OSU besides playing in SEC. There’s a 5.5 hour drive to Knoxville v 9.5 hour drive to Columbus. Flights are a 10min difference and there are more and cheaper direct flights to Columbus.
9.5? Pretty sure Sanders lives in Charlotte. You're only driving 40 mph lol if it takes you that long. That said he's not choosing OSU.
Charlotte to Columbus, it's 6 and a half hours. I'm in Charlotte right now and can promise you this drive is no 9 hours
you could get from Columbus to d.c. easy with no stops in 9.5

I think you are the best out there on recruiting Birm. I really disagree with Tennesee being comparable to Ohio State. In my mind the Nation has 3 super elite Programs. These are obvious. Then you have the second tier. To me in the SEC that is LSU, Texas, and Oklahoma. Then you have the 3rd tier with Florida, Texas A&M, Missouri, Ole Miss, Auburn and Tennesee. All those teams fighting it out for the 5 spot most years. Tennesee is not a serious contender till they prove otherwise. It has been a long time since Tenn. was consistently good. If I am a Lineman who wants to be a top 10 pick, then I am going to one of the programs that will make the playoffs every year.

Tim Drevno is on the staff, he used to be the coach from UCLA. If Sanders goes to Tennessee, we could fire Frye and just hire him. Just saying, he can’t be worse than Frye

I honestly do not think that the traditional "last visit" stuff IMHO is not that a big of a deal. OSU put forward their best pitch it either is enough or its not. OSU will survive one way or the other. If they don't land Sanders, then It is in my view a fair thing to say if Frye doesn't produce an OL that is a strength on this team then he is looking at a pink slip.
Respectfully disagree. You should never stop pressing with an elite recruit. Viewing it like there is point when "you did all that you could" is a psychological way to justify stopping working.

Tennessee only has one advantage aside from whatever signing bonus they can offer to Sanders, and that's proximity. Literally everything else, it's Ohio State by a mile. NFL development, life apart from football, winning, whatever. So, my guess is that if they lose him, it will be the signing bonus that does them in.
Did I hear somewhere that his girlfriend goes to Tenn? Don't know how big of a deal that would be to him, but being a young man we all know what hormones do to young guy's sometimes they tend to think with there other head..lol😂😂

Birm, Tennessee is not what you are making them seem like. They are not a perennial contender in any way. They may not be Vanderbilt, but they’re most years the 4th or 5th best SEC team
