Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala with Royal Scot, Bahamas & More! 13th March 2022

- In this video, we see steam taking on the steep gradient on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their Spring Steam Gala, Sunday 13th March 2022.
This gala would see a number of locomotives in operation such guest locomotives:
GWR Pannier No. 7714 visiting from the Severn Valley Railway, making her first visit since the KWVRs 50th Anniversary Gala in June 2018 & LMS Royal Scot No. 46100 Royal Scot visiting from Locomotives Services Group in Crewe, also making her first visit since the KWVRs 50th Anniversary Gala in June 2018.

Key highlights in this gala include:
46100 Royal Scot making a beastly climb up Keighley Bank after departing Keighley Station
41241 & 78022 blasting away from Damems Loop making their way towards Oakworth sounding superb.
46100 Royal Scot storming and roaring through Top Field, just outside Haworth on the non stop express making a very fine sight indeed as she passes by with the regulator wide open with the classic Scot sound in full swing in what surely has to be the be one of the best performances I have seen on KWVR!
52044 & 41241 departing Oakworth in the glorious sunlight with both locos looking superb in the lovely lighting with 41241 sounding superb as she did most of the work as the pair departed the famous station.
45596 Bahamas barking out of Keighley on a late afternoon departure
41241 & 78022 making a fine sight as the pair make a dramatic slog out of Keighley in the fading dusk light on the final train of the day on a one way non stop run on an impressive load 9 as the pair slog, slip and blow off up the very challenging gradient to a great end to brilliant day.
The weather was not being too bad although as can unfortunately be heard in some clips it did get quite windy and sun only played ball a few times
Overall Sunday 13th March was a fantastic day from another brilliant and classic KWVR gala especially with this being the first steam gala in over 2 years due to the pandemic with superb loco performances with so many highlights from many locos notably from 46100 & 41241 and we look forward to visiting this brilliant railway again in the coming future!
