Phil Hartman (the Voice it Troy) was married to Brynn Hartman who was a mess: frequently took drugs (of all sorts), drunk in excess and also when intoxicated smacked her children around. It was also recorded by a friend that she ‘had trouble controlling her anger” and “got attention by losing her temper”.
May 27 1998, Phil and Brynn got into an argument over her abuse where he threatened to leave her if she ever harmed their children again. At sometime that night (after 3am May 28th) whilst he slept, Brynn shot him 3 times.
She then went to a friends house (whilst drunk and high on cocaine) and brought them over to show them the body. By the time the police arrived, Brynn had locked herself in her bedroom and committed suicide.
