I have the older model, love it! Particularly like the fact that it'll sit horizontal due to the battery and blade being at the same level and the quick change works great. Replaced the sanding shoe for a screw fix one as the velcro failed pretty quickly but otherwise really happy, especially if already on the platform

The older 18v model was best of the rest imo (compared to the supercut etc), good to see they have updated it. I’ve absolutely beat the granny out of the older models over a few years and haven’t broken one. Yes they don’t cut as fast as the more expensive ones and they do vibrate a bit more but they are good value for money.

I have the corded and cordless Dewalt multi tools, cannot fault the performance of either. The blade change is a winner and I like the fact you can adjust the angle of the blade when things get tight. I often ask myself how we managed without multi tools!

I have the older model it is really good, secure and easy blade change , strong brushless motor keeps going tirelessly, I had to cut through concrete blocks and bricks no problem but I had to go through a few blades, have a few Milwaukee tools as well they are great but my Dewalt tools have a small quality edge.

Nice review. Depth stop does indeed loosen. The other issue I have is the Allen screw that holds the depth stop bracket onto the body has tightened itself to the point I can’t take it off now.
Other than that great piece of kit and next to drill and impy it’s the most used bit of cordless kit I carry.

This is next on my list, I got the 18v brushless drill a few months ago after my black & decker broke after about 2 weeks. Now I see the value in higher quality tools. I have seen the 18v multitool kit for £200 but I'm hoping for a nice black friday deal maybe to get it a bit cheaper.

I've got the national grid DeWalt version and it's been a great tool that gets used far more often than I thought it would do. I really like the quick release blade change. The only thing is my son borrows it and gives it back with all the teeth missing on the blades. To be fair though he does replace them

If he replaces then he is one up on may people who just wreck stuff and pretend they haven't touched it. Then there is the neighbour who borrows tools, locks them in his house and goes on holiday. Mentioning no names Johnny

Me too, I think it's great. I find the blade change a little awkward at times, it's quite stiff on mine, but I think I might just have oddly shaped hands and I press in the wrong place! Good advice from Roger on the depth adjuster screw, I lost mine recently and haven't got round to getting a replacement. I think the screw is too big also, I did have the problem once of not being able to use the depth stop because the screw got in the way. For me, a threaded insert with a hex head would have been far nicer for just tightening up a depth stop, which doesn't have to be ridiculously tight. Overall though, I'm glad I bought mine, I think it was the right price point for a tool I don't use that often but does things others just can't.

I've got a DeWalt angle grinder and make a point of locking it off before changing discs or even just when setting it down for more than a few seconds. Yes I know, removing the battery is preferable but with the trigger locked off and the spindle lock pressed for disc replacement, it should be pretty safe. Great feature.

I've owned the older version of this dewalt tool but was "convinced" by a job site specialist to sell all my dewalt gear and switch over to Milwaukee. While the Milwaukee does the job well, I I must admit that dewalt is a more refined and better built tool. It definitely does a better job. It's almost like comparing a European car to an American car.
I'll never take the advice of a Milwaukee job site specialist. Sneaky bastards.

It was a good place for him to learn about making videos but the aim was always for him to get some exposure and then set up his own channel. He is doing well with it now and I sure there will be future collaborations. As our respective channels grow it will be easier to justify taking time out of our paid work to make videos.
