It was @august 1, 1966, I received a letter that I was admitted to a university in USA, I was informed that I report @ Sept 1 for registration and start classes. I was in time. So this is what I did, I immediately went to passport office, reserve bank and US embassy and picked up the necessary forms. Important: I prepared a cover letter. It clearly listed the steps required for me to reach in time. The Date of application for Passport - One week Foreign exchange approval by Reserve Bank of India - one week Visa approval by US embassy - one week Travel . Miracle friends said , No I said. I was on plane and reached in time. Passport was ready and I picked it up in 3 days. It was not yet the computer age, that we are in today.

Above all. Thanks to 30+ year Indian effort in developing IT education and IT industry. The world is benefiting, Indians are benefitting, individuals are benefitting,most of all India is benefiting hugely. And yes passport and other government services are being delivered faster. And yes India has 600- 700 billion of foreign exchange. And remember the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s etc when Indians could not get more than $8 foreign exchange. Let’s spread credit where it is due. It is sad this is not happening lately.

It was @august 1, 1966, I received a letter that I was admitted to a university in USA, I was informed that I report @ Sept 1 for registration and start classes. I was in time.
So this is what I did, I immediately went to passport office, reserve bank and US embassy and picked up the necessary forms.
Important: I prepared a cover letter. It clearly listed the steps required for me to reach in time.
The Date of application for Passport - One week
Foreign exchange approval by Reserve Bank of India - one week
Visa approval by US embassy - one week
Travel .
Miracle friends said , No I said. I was on plane and reached in time.
Passport was ready and I picked it up in 3 days. It was not yet the computer age, that we are in today.
Our EAM is absolutely Brilliant. He could be a choice of Modi ji for future PM or always stay relevant and in Power for the People of Bharat

And yes passport and other government services are being delivered faster.
And yes India has 600- 700 billion of foreign exchange. And remember the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s etc when Indians could not get more than $8 foreign exchange.
