Thanks as always for the Saturday review. I have lower back stiffness/pain/ whatever too. I stopped doing regular squats. I now do belt squats (T-bar version), viking attachment hack squats, and sissy squats. You do what you can do, but you do it. Thanks again - I always enjoy.
I think most people realize that when you commit fully to a home gym, leg exercises are what you sacrifice the most. I’ve done some nice hacks with resistance bands attached to a battle rope mount for leg curls but obviously not the same. I held onto my gym membership for a long time just to go once a week for leg day
Good idea on using a band to help add resistance at the bottom. I think, like you said, this is likely just the beginning for the attachments BoS will come out with (betting there will be a preacher pad attachment). Biggest drawback I see is storage space for them, as you pointed out.
Bells definitely listen to the community on this one. This is been in the forums and the groups for a long time so I should make a bench with an attachments And they did
Ironmasters does this attachment the best. It inserts horizontally and has a foot for stability. It has the heaviest steel at the fulcrum and has a robust bushing. There are also multiple points to set the leg rollers. No other company comes close to what Ironmasters has done with this.
Great review. Glad this works well for you. You forgot to mention the Ironmaster leg attachment which came out way before this one and attached to their bench. Works basically the exact same way.
Best fitness and body solid (same company,), different product lines make benches sold on Amazon that allow for their brand of leg extention/leg curl attachment and preacher curl. Another brand does too that's equally expensive, but at the moment I'm drawing a blank on the brand. If you buy the bench and both attachments for it, it will run about $500 or so dollars but the bench is nowhere near the quality and strength capacity of the new bells of steel one. When I'm ready to upgrade from my crappy weider standard bench with leg attachment (don't laugh too hard its all i could find at the beginning of the pandemic) I'm getting the marcy $180 fid bench with leg attachment. It's much sturdier than what I have and can hold 600lbs for the bench and 200lbs for the leg attachment. My current bench had to be strapped to heavier equipment so the back doesn't lift and flip over. Also, my current one is barely even padded and says it holds 50lbs on the leg attachment. In reality, it seems to hold up to 110 lbs, but I know it's questionable at that weight. I'm fortunate that I made the space for a dedicated leg bench not everyone can fit in the gym which is why if you have the money but not the space the bench with attachments makes sense.
Would be kind of neat to have a hook point where you could attach your cable attachment pulleys to. Wonder if that would lead to a more consistent feel similar to that of a cable leg extension machine?
I enjoyed the review. I noticed yours looks different than the ones on the BOS website as far as how it mounts to the bench. I was wondering if you modified yours in any way?
Mr. Home gym for the streets checking in. Great review, and I am of the opinion that a leg ext/curl DEDICATED station (no fugazi monkey feet) is the most important “machine” you can add to a home gym. It is just not replicated well through hacks. This attachment could be refined in a few ways (Gluck pointed out it not being great if you are over 6’2), but that price point is hard to argue!
I am six one and was able to use it by just putting it at the appropriate height. You can take Mr home gym off of the streets but you can't take the streets out of Mr home gym
Yeah like my Goat attachment set up is like $600-$1000 When you count leg rollers and everything you need to use, it might as well just get a standalone station or bulletproof fitness
I've seen guys on Reddit say this works with Rep's 5200 and my Blackwing extra hole needs drilled. I have Titan's rack mounted but its not very solid I hooked to Athena and the torgue of my 240lb body and cable attached plus weight on the thing broke their left washer and the seat went off and I fell back luckily grabbed the rack. Not sure I trust the thing anymore. I also like doing leg curls with BOTH legs vs 1 at a time.
Month or two. I suspect the torque from Henny strap hooked to Athena, my weight did it. I will try putting it back together with more torque tightening it and be more careful.@@NoFate247

Turns out I put it together wrong forgot the washer, that's why it slipped off. 100% my fault was in rush to try it out when I got it!

Yeah the storage for all these new attachments that have come out in past two years is something many fail to account for

Hats off to bells
Looks like one of the best leg Ext/Curl attachments I’ve seen in a while, great job Bells of Steel!!
Always good to see stuff come out especially when it didn't cost an arm and a leg

That's great how long have you had it?
@@NoFate247 2 years. Only way I’d upgrade is if I found a selectorized version on marketplace for cheap

Might if you have the right sized chord
This looks like a great solution for me since I have knee issues and can't do squats like I used to.👊👊
Can't believe you still run so much mileage still. Very impressive
Bells is also dropping a rack attachment like the Titan one so we’ll see how that come with the price point that comes out at
