All passionate comments are from 7-8 years ago and it makes me really melancholic. i feel like i found a treasure but people lived it and left it a lot lot ago :( i miss incubus
this song leaves me speechless. i am in a place in my life right now, this song says everything i have been feeling for about two years now. its like that close friend you know so well, that you can look at each other and know what the other is thinking.......I LOVE this song & I love INCUBUS.
For those who want the lyrics: _The road is long_ _The trees are orange and brown_ _I'm not afraid to leave this goddamn town_ _I've had enough_ _I'm gone, I won't look back_ _I walk awhile, along the rail road track_ _I'm obliged to you babe, but this place you see, is trying to hold me down_ _I want more than you can offer (hold me down)_ _I am off to anywhere but here (hold me down)_ _I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_ _The others, beware of what they say_ _Take your pill, and remember to pray_ _I've had enough_ _There's too much to live down_ _I need to break out of this goddamn town_ _I'm obliged to you babe, but this place you see, is trying to hold me down_ _I want more than you can offer (hold me down)_ _I am tired of all the if's and when's (hold me down)_ _I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_ _I need more than you can offer (hold me down)_ _I am off to anywhere but here (hold me down)_ _I'm still walking cause nobody can hold me down_ _Hold me down_ _Whoa, whoa_ _Whoa, whoa_ _Ooh_ _Whoa, whoa_ _Ooh yeah_ _Yeah_ _I want more than you can offer_ _I am off to anywhere but here_ _I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_ _Hold me down_ _Hold me down_ _Hold me down_
In my opinion...this riff is one of the greatest I've ever heard. Especially when he breaks it down and goes to the higher strings with the hammer ons and shit. Unbelievablle
I am 27 and have been a fan since I heard Take Me To Your Leader on a musicworld up and coming artists CD in '95 at 10!!. They are still my favorite band outside of Canada.
10-15- nay 18 fricken years I've been a fan since I heard Take Me To Your Leader on a friends cassette back in elementary school and then looked up Idiot box on winmx free download service when I was 12 a couple years after.
@Dmully Incubus is actually one of my favorite bands still even after they lost that creative magic that they once had. they're still ridiculously talented especially Ben. But you can not honestly tell me that if not now, when? was a solid album. even big fans of light grenades were shaking their collective heads at this one...
The Guy You Saw give it a chance dude...there are good songs on the album..i like about 8 tracks...to me thats a good record...now Morning View and Make Yourself are classics in which I love virtually every song..actually If not now, when is a classic also
umm, ''throw out the map'' was good, but i really didnt like the test of it, and in near future i just cant change my mind. actually, in longer period.
@fender210 Most definitely, They're still a solid band though man. These b-sides,,, this one especially is testament to how deep they're sound goes. Incubus has struck gold back in the early 2000's in regards to the chemistry and mad alchemy these wizards cook up. listening to this I can hear that there's much more to come .
Ben is all across the board. He can do just about anything musically. And his bass playing is phenomenal, if you ask me. He recreates the slapping pieces perfectly and his original bass lines blow my mind. I mean, who could argue against Sick Sad Little World. The naysayers are shitty fans/wannabe critics.
@NoPainNoGain2393 Every band should think they're old stuff isn't good enough for them. That's how you learn and grow as a band. I'm pretty sure I've even heard Brandon Boyd say he's "embarrassed" by some of their earlier stuff. That doesn't mean it should be dismissed, as everything we do serves a purpose in our learning, but who wants to play the same stuff over and over for 20 years +? Apart from maybe AC/DC, but I doubt they have the same "artistic" values as bands like Incubus!
@NoPainNoGain2393 yeah their style changed a bit...but you can kinda still hear that incubus guitar in there, and the voice....well its still fucking fantastic....if you dont like it thats cool man...but i like there older stuff more aswell but i still like this becouse i respect the band.. and im so glad i can hear some new incubus songs, just be happy there still together and making music!
@Delli2289 From what I understand is Mike wrote a lot of Alex's parts... The difference is Ben writes his own stuff so Mike is more free to write different stuff.
@NoPainNoGain2393 If you love the band, you love/understand everything they do. Would you tell your best friend, "i know you think you've grown and matured, but you're not half as amazing as you used to be." no, a REAL friend would stick by one's side & support & love them no matter what perspective you have on their progression. Try to see the path they are dancing down, maybe then you'll see why they dance in such a way....& who wants to dance the same way forever?
@plus44fanatics This album is NOTHING like Light Grenades, so why would fans of that specific album have strong feelings towards INNW? I hated this album when it came out. And then I listened to it. And then I loved it. I don't think its anywhere near one of their best, but its a beautifully orchestrated album. I like a lot of their other stuff better, but this is where their at in their lives right now. They just had a 5 year break of hangin out and spending time with loved ones..
@NoPainNoGain2393 A band doesnt last twenty years by playing the same thing over and over. Have you listened to the song "Pardon Me"? They are a changing consciousness as individuals and therefore as a band. If you wanted to hear the old incubus sound, then just play their old albums.
@andyremains I disagree, Incubus is my absolute favorite band, but some of the songs off the new album were a let down (not this one.) I'll have teachers that say whats your favorite band and I say "Incubus" and all the little kids in my French class that also love Rihanna, kesha... etc...say "Oh i love Incubus". (My school is 7-12) It somewhat shows that they're not as great as they used to be! They're hardly a rock band anymore, what happened to "Morning view, Make yourself "
well the age thing still stands lol but i think they are still good they just have a different outlook but idk i was just trying to give insight anyway
@plus44fanatics Go listen to any of Ben's solo albums and tell me theres no creativity there. Burn the Tapes, Distance and Comfort, Maduro, 27... He plays every instrument on every album and every song is nothing short of brilliant. If you can't appreciate his music, I cannot see how you can say you are a true Incubus fan..
I've been a fan since I was 15...I'm now 30. Always be my favourite band. They've done so much for me while I've grown into the individual I am today!
lbomb8 same here man.
lbomb8 😍
Same. Got me through life ❤️
Yup, they always have a song for whatever I’m going through.
you're 40 now
WHAT?! Been a fan for 15 years and why did I only find this out now?! This is awesome!
My mom went to their concert when she was pregnant with me. I guess I have been a fan since day 1!!
Incubus have some absolute gems on their B-Sides. With this and the ones off monuments and melodies, they could release a damn fine album!
This band is love of my life
I don't think it's been said enough, but this band is simply amazing :)
This might be my favorite Incubus song. I love the verse riff so much.
0:50 this part is amazing, reminds me "Strange Days" from The Doors
Sick Sad Little World = One of the greatest songs ever created.
This song is Amazing in every aspect. Music- verses- performed..... This band will always have me in Awe mode.
All passionate comments are from 7-8 years ago and it makes me really melancholic. i feel like i found a treasure but people lived it and left it a lot lot ago :( i miss incubus
“I want more than you can offer, so I am off to anywhere but here” tip of the tongue stuff B 🖤🖤🦋🦋🌻🌻
Should have been on the album imo great song
this song leaves me speechless. i am in a place in my life right now, this song says everything i have been feeling for about two years now. its like that close friend you know so well, that you can look at each other and know what the other is thinking.......I LOVE this song & I love INCUBUS.
Digging the 90s Alternative vibe of this song. Simple pero rock!
I love this band since 10 years and each song is the same pleasure each time.
For those who want the lyrics:
_The road is long_
_The trees are orange and brown_
_I'm not afraid to leave this goddamn town_
_I've had enough_
_I'm gone, I won't look back_
_I walk awhile, along the rail road track_
_I'm obliged to you babe, but this place you see, is trying to hold me down_
_I want more than you can offer (hold me down)_
_I am off to anywhere but here (hold me down)_
_I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_
_The others, beware of what they say_
_Take your pill, and remember to pray_
_I've had enough_
_There's too much to live down_
_I need to break out of this goddamn town_
_I'm obliged to you babe, but this place you see, is trying to hold me down_
_I want more than you can offer (hold me down)_
_I am tired of all the if's and when's (hold me down)_
_I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_
_I need more than you can offer (hold me down)_
_I am off to anywhere but here (hold me down)_
_I'm still walking cause nobody can hold me down_
_Hold me down_
_Whoa, whoa_
_Whoa, whoa_
_Ooh_
_Whoa, whoa_
_Ooh yeah_
_Yeah_
_I want more than you can offer_
_I am off to anywhere but here_
_I keep walking so nobody can hold me down_
_Hold me down_
_Hold me down_
_Hold me down_
Thank you
@@cadulany6042 You're welcome!
agree!!
i dont remember how young but i caught them opening up for sublime back when Nowell was alive, im 26, still my favorite band!!
Brandon's voice is so unique and amazing
In my opinion...this riff is one of the greatest I've ever heard. Especially when he breaks it down and goes to the higher strings with the hammer ons and shit. Unbelievablle
i have been a fan since i was 12.. now im turning 22 next month and incubus is still my favorite band..
I am 27 and have been a fan since I heard Take Me To Your Leader on a musicworld up and coming artists CD in '95 at 10!!. They are still my favorite band outside of Canada.

i've been a fan for six years now and I KNOW they'll forever be my favorite band!
i started when i was 15 and now i'm almost 28! and i still listen to Pardon me with the same relish as then. Long live Incubus!
This is what I'm feeling right now

I didn't like the new album at first. But now it's really grown on me!
I wish this was on the cd. Excellent as always.
me too man! glad your on this planet brother!! peace and love. cheers to a new year wit Incubus music
0 dislikes. I like!! Dont hold me down. This song does have an older feel to it. Proves that Incubus can and will do whatever they please.
Freedom & Fire Forever in between dreams.
This sounds like Ben Kenney wrote it! Love his solo stuff and love Incubus forever
especially the breakdown towards the end...
Dude has a very cool voice man
heck yea
"Take your pill and remember to pray." what a great f****** song
How this can be the best band I've ever heard in my life?
Awesome song - love the nod to the Doors - Strange Days!
My fav by them 💗
this is what we call art of music :O
Damn, I think I just got a new favorite song.
i dont understand why people bash ben... dudes borderline genius. yeah dirk was great but ben has an entirely different set of skills.
i love how this song erupts at 2:45 ! great tune
@Dmully Incubus is actually one of my favorite bands still even after they lost that creative magic that they once had. they're still ridiculously talented especially Ben. i love it!!! amazing!!! have to agree tho morning view is my fav album of all time... legendry
me n you the same, started listening when i was 9, now im 21. good shit dude.
Incubus dosent have bad albums. never ever.
shiet, now, 3-4 years later i can say that ''8'', isnt a good album. sad.
The Guy You Saw give it a chance dude...there are good songs on the album..i like about 8 tracks...to me thats a good record...now Morning View and Make Yourself are classics in which I love virtually every song..actually If not now, when is a classic also

@@theguyyousaw7950 Well what do you think of 8 now? (3 years later...)

@@kenankustura8595 still not feeling it. But i still enjoy "throw out the map". 😁
HOLY SHIT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS SONG WAS ON HERE AND IT'S AMAZING. THIS IS GODLY. I love you Incubus.
i love this song!
it's on the bonus cd of the "incubus hq live dvd"
@fender210 Most definitely, They're still a solid band though man. These b-sides,,, this one especially is testament to how deep they're sound goes. great song
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!
The trees are orange and brown and he's always welcome to come up here, I'd hold him but not down, I'd let him walk his own path! ;P
Wow! this is REALLY good!
Definitely Strange Days. Love the Doors and Incubus.
I agree "that If not now when?" is a little bit softer than I expected, and I miss when I could listen to the CDs whithout forwarding songs :P
good song
@NoPainNoGain2393 Every band should think they're old stuff isn't good enough for them. That's how you learn and grow as a band. oh god yeah
@FrixHex311- Lol I agree. I feel like he's realized that thats what is most important in life, though.
totally!
Strange Days!
Anybody know where I can get a high quality download of this song? All the versions I've heard sound really compressed or something.
I have them in HQ flac and mp3.. would you pay $3 for all 3 tracks? I also paid for it just to acquire them
OMG that is a awesome great incubus is the best band in the worl fuck yeah ¡¡¡
i wanna hold u down ;) I love it.
Must. Add. To. Future. Set. Lists. Por. Favor.
@NoPainNoGain2393
yeah their style changed a bit...but you can kinda still hear that incubus guitar in there, and the voice....well its still fucking fantastic....if you dont like it thats cool man...but i like there older stuff more aswell but i still like this becouse i respect the band.. and im so glad i can hear some new incubus songs, just be happy there still together and making music!
Sweet!
im not sure but i think the chorus is (CEG, CEF, CEG, FGE x2) Thats all Ive been able to figure out.
Wow! Kinda sounds like the police! Good stuff! Its just sad its not on innw......
@Delli2289 From what I understand is Mike wrote a lot of Alex's parts... The difference is Ben writes his own stuff so Mike is more free to write different stuff.
both are good just leave it at that
One does not simply leave this song out of an album.

Same with me, but I'm 24. I personal think this guys are bit underrated.

I want more than you can offer
I'm a fan of both bassists. I like Dirk more for his style, but it's opinion, not a matter of who is "better."
agree, Light Granades and If not now, when?...............something happened there?!

Nice tip of the hat to The Doors
Enough arguing. Morning View = the greatest album ever made by any musician in history. End of story
Esta cancion esta disponible en Itunes?
Are these b sides available for purchase anywhere? Or are they only for listening on their site? If the latter, then what a tease!
Is this song hold me down and surface to air on sale anywhere? I can't find it on Amazon!
They are on the bonus cd that comes with the Incubus HQ Live DVD :)
I have them in HQ flac and mp3.. would you pay $3 for all 3 tracks? I also paid for it just to acquire them
Why isint this on the CD?!?!
well the age thing still stands lol but i think they are still good they just have a different outlook but idk i was just trying to give insight anyway
not to mention Mike wrote most of dirks bass lines anyway
what happened? they went more mainstream! i still love the music on the strength of morning view alone though
@plus44fanatics Go listen to any of Ben's solo albums and tell me theres no creativity there. Burn the Tapes, Distance and Comfort, Maduro, 27... You know what i hate? People who call incubus a bad band... People with such negativity are just ignorant.
where on earth can i find this song!?!?!?! someone help please!
I have them in HQ flac and mp3.. would you pay $3 for all 3 tracks? I also paid for it just to acquire them
@fender210 I KR!!!! SO DOES ISADORE for some reason!
@fender210 bc? cause thats the REAL early 2000s
