Dentist here! You can bring your child in as early as when their first tooth erupts but definitely first visit before their first birthday and every 6 months after that.

We see a pediatric dentist (love her!), and she also recommends around the first birthday. Those early visits are more about setting a positive tone for future care than anything else. This approach has worked out very well for us! None of our kids have been fearful about the dentist.

My dentist recommended visiting once the child is 2 years old - and the first visit(s) will only be to get to know everything, and like @Erica said, set a good tone.

I use the Saalt brand period cup! It definitely takes some trial and error, but I love it. It is silicone, so not sticking plastic up there. I use a water bottle and some travel soap for public bathrooms because you can just rinse it over the toilet. I also have used a reusable pad if I don’t want to mess with the cup.

Just found your page and currently 33 weeks pregnant. I just wanted to pop on and say I LOVE your heart to host missionaries. We are currently missionaries in the jungles of Ecuador and it made me smile so much hearing your heart to host that family because when we are in the US we missionaries travel SO much and the blessing of getting to stay in a home and not a hotel is such a breath of fresh air.
Love your videos and watching your sweet family and thank you for your kind heart and being missions minded 😊

The diva cup works awesome! It did freak me out at first to use but once it’s in you don’t feel it. I never leak when using it and I have always had heavy periods. It also somehow cuts the amount of time I bleed for in half! So for that reason I always use it over pads/tampons.

I’m a nurse midwife (CNM) and a mom myself to an 8 month baby girl, and I think menstrual cups are the best! You seriously won’t go back once you try them (and find one that works with your body). Plus, they aren’t plastic, they are made of medical grade silicone :) I love the Saalt cup brand, it’s very comfortable.; but some brands work better for certain body shapes. Takes a few cycles to get the hang of a cup but I’d recommend trying it. Good luck!

I use a menstrual cup!! I started after my first baby back in 2020. I use the brand saalt and it really is easy. I was also grossed out and uncomfortable with the idea of putting something up there. But you only change it in the morning and night since it stays for 12 hours. SO I usually change it in the shower. If it gets messy then I quickly rinse and voila. Done! Definitely recommend. A super plus is the amount of $ you will save considering you only need one every 10 years or so!!

I was nervous to get rid of the passy too because she always used it to sleep! We went to just night time too and we cut the top off..she was a little sad and said it’s broken. We asked her if she wanted to throw it away and she did and just went to sleep without it. I know it wouldn’t be that way for every kid..but there’s hope!

Diva cup! It’s silicon not plastic! They have different sizes if you’ve had a kid or not. And I personally can leave it in for 12 hours so I only ever change it at home!

My life legitimately changed for the better when I began using a menstrual cup. I used a divacup for years and then postpartum it began being finicky for me to get inserted correctly, so I switched to the flexdisc this year and it’s an even bigger game changer. It works so well and is so comfortable I forgot it was even in (and that I was on my period) and I accidentally left it in for 24 hours!

Switched to the Diva cup and seriously can’t recommend it enough. It’s so much easier & saves money! I think it’s a more natural option (being silicone) compared to all the stuff in tampons/pads.

OMG you should 10000% try a menstrual cup. i use the diva cup and you definitely should try it during a time where you are mostly at home. during that first couple cycles i would use backup like a pad or tampon just because you are more likely to have some leaks. but it is especially great after the worst day of your period. i feel like when i used it my period was actually shorter and the blood was able to drain more quickly somehow. plus you can literally go almost the entire workday without emptying it and that is so nice when you aren't on the heaviest day. i love that i didn't have to buy tampons and it is so much more eco friendly. i also just hate pads and tampons so much - worrying about changing them and the smell. i sort of got out of rhythm from using it last year because i had a few early miscarriages and you aren't supposed to use tampons or cups during that time. but whenever i get a period back i am for sure going to go back to mine.

Diva cup changed my life! The public bathroom thing is not much of an issue in day-to-day life if you empty it in the morning before work and at night before bed. It does require more planning because you need to boil the cup before you start using it for each new cycle, so it is still good to have tampons or pads on hand if your period starts fast and heavy. If inserted properly it doesn't leak at all, but it does take some practice. I was most worried about removal but someone describe the "poop flex" and it lowers the cup to where you can reach it better, once I realized this I cut the stem shorter for comfort. If you exercise regularly I would double check the suction is intact both before and after your workout, once during a workout the suction went because I was tensing my core and pelvic area while I was lifting, so I am more cautious about that now. It does sometimes make my cramps feel worse because of the "full" feeling so I will empty more often on those days. I always used tampons and would leak constantly even though I was changing them regularly but what I realized after using the Diva Cup *TMI warning* is that for me and I am sure many other women, my period isn't just liquid blood. It is chunks of my uterine lining (weird to think about I know) and so the tampons couldn't absorb that and I would leak. The Diva Cup catches and holds the chunks, problem solved. Also, once you get used to removal it isn't messy at all because the part of the cup you are grabbing to pull it out doesn't have blood on it.

It is so nice how little girl dresses can be worn for multiple years simply by putting them over leggings when they get too short. At least that worked for my daughters! Very cost effective.
