He's reached the point where the TF2 meme references are somehow jarringly normal. We're primed to see characters with faces so distorted we can barely perceive them as human, so when an Engineer shows up with just a slightly tight smile it becomes disturbing.
After a little over 8 years, the sniper had changed. He left the sleepy town of Lazy Mountain behind him, seeking to improve his self-image. He'd ditched his old Crocleather Slouch for a trendier Liquidator's Lid, his RED team uniform for a cooler BLU. He'd even become more physically pliable somehow, possibly out of his sheer desire to take on a more appealing shape. Even with all these changes he'd made to his lifestyle, he couldn't help but feel the same deep down, something in his roots seemingly holding him in place, unable to be changed. The possibility frightened him. He stood there, playing with his old mobile phone. A relic, much like himself, but one which kept him entertained, and that was enough to keep him from dwelling on the many things he couldn't control. It kept him so engrossed that he started to shout when he heard someone calling out to him. The sniper looked up to see a rather tall gentleman, unfazed by his exclamation of surprise. The garbage this tall figure was standing atop quickly collapsed to reveal that he wasn't all that intimidating after all, and he then elaborated that he needed to call his mom. No sooner than the both of them had glanced at the phone in his hands did the man tear it from him, urgently dialling each number after the other. The sniper looked on with apprehension as the stranger held the phone to his ear, but he didn't try to take his beloved phone back yet, as the call did seem to be urgent. As the signal struggled to connect and the call finally began ringing on the other end, he noticed that his phone looked... different, somehow. Someone behind him tried to get his attention, but he batted them away, transfixed on the ever-changing form of his beloved escape. It seemed to be continuously taking on new and unfamiliar shapes, the ringing swelling in his ears as he felt less and less sure of the things he knew. He remembered how he once believed his wife, long dead, was still with him, and he couldn't bring himself to move on. It took a peculiar man with a wild personality and kind eyes to come into his life and shake him from his fantasy, and for that moment, he felt something real again. Soon though, even that was taken from him, and he was thrust back into a frightening and uncaring world he didn't understand. The phone was finally picked up, and he was yanked from his spiralling thoughts by the sound of conversation. The stranger seemed very upset by something his mother had said, as he had pulled the receiver from his ear and was glaring down at it. Faster than the sniper could react, he watched the man pitch his phone into a nearby crate without restraint, evidently in a fit of rage. He shouted once more, the realization that the device did not survive being thrown through against wood and asphalt dawning on both of them. The stranger's mother had arrived, demanding to know what he had done, but the sniper couldn't bring any words to his mouth, only an animalistic growl. This was the limit of what he could handle today. The stranger's gaze, an emotionless stare, swayed to the destruction he had caused. Almost like a video in reverse, the sniper watched as the damage was quite literally undone before his eyes. The man held his phone out to him without a scratch, thanking him for the favour. Bewildered, he took it back in his hands and the man rode away, the sound of his skateboard fading in the distance. How had the phone survived? He couldn't believe that you could change something that had already happened like that, and yet, he held the proof in his hands. Was this just another fabrication of his broken mind? Regardless, he was alone again. At least, he believed he was alone until he finally glanced behind himself. Standing there, gazing up at him with an abnormally short spine, was a ghostly sight from his past. After everything that had changed in his life, after everything he had changed of himself, the short man who the sniper dreaded most stood before him, exactly as he stood all those years ago. Their eyes locked, like predator and prey, in a ritual only seen once before on that final day he had spent in Lazy Mountain. All the memories he had tried to bury came flooding back, and he was suddenly standing on that platform once more, awaiting his fate. But instead of the words he expected to hear, the short one simply shoved him, and he was weightless in the air. Was this revenge for what he had done in his feeble attempt at relatiation before? Was this the end for him? Would he hear the short one's final judgement, or did he manage to change himself for the better? He hit the ground before he could hear it with his mortal ears, but deep down, he knew. He knew already what the words for him would be, because it was the part of him he could never change, and even when he was unsure of everything else, he was certain of what the short one would say of him next. "Ugly."
I love it when people manage to write a story out of these videos, and this is not only the best among them, but the best UA-cam comment I've seen in years. You've made my day almost as much as this video did.
These videos have gotten to the point where seeing a relatively normal Engineer model felt more uncanny than any of the other disfigured character models... Amazing
At this point the anything that looks normal in an Eltorro video looks weirder than anything else. For instance, to most cursed face in this video is engineers, and it’s pretty much not changed from it’s normal model.
0:24 sniper's face perfectly describes the feeling when I gave someone my phone to call their friends who they went with when they were lost, vigilantly watching to see if they make any sudden moves
One of the funniest things to me is the abundance of phones in the background of this animation, yet the potato headed skateboard scout still had to "ask" someone to borrow a phone.
It's one of eltorro videos where the amount of details is staggering, and requires many viewings to appreciate it all. Also, that throwback with the engi at the end was pure gold. Genius as always.
you are really good at making those bizarre, stretched out faces look natural. normally wacky tf2 faces in gmod have a lot of those spikey, buggy looking artifacts, but you somehow make it look smooth.
My understanding is Eltorro has actually delved in and edited the models to make them more flexible for wacky faces, literally advancing wacky tf2 face technology for the good of humankind
@@JezMM from the looks of it its looks like they have almost 10x the amount of facial flex points and probably more dense polygon clusters all over the model
My favourite part of this video is how happy Scout sounds when he says "Hey Mom!", the whole video is hilarious and wacky but the joy in that line is so oddly genuine and I love it.
Did anyone else think this video was going to be a Better Call Saul parody from the title? Edit: I thought it was at first when I saw the title but when I watched it is when I knew it wasn't a parody
Not even joking, I was actually waiting with extreme anticipation for Engi to say something. All of the things he could possibly say ran through my mind: "bacon", "you're ugly", or just start silently dancing. The possibilities were endless, and for some reason that gave me extreme anticipation, making it even funnier when he finally not only spoke, but even wheezed, and to top it off, a silent dance as well. Truly a heart-racing moment for me
0:54 Such a tragic and disturbing turn for the Shortgineer's character. Truly, whatever happened to him in the years since his last appearance has turned him from a friendly messenger and dance enthusiast into a murderous psychopath. A chilling reminder that even the most innocent of us can turn.
I mean, he WAS thrown into the gaping maw of a Scout and exploded atomically not long after, only to be likely put back together again from scratch and having to relearn all his basic functions, with yhr last thing he remembers being a disgruntled Sniper throwing him far off towards four giants. I'd be a bit irritable too towards Snipers, if that happened to me.
You've mastered this aura of uncomfortable character interactions, every one of these has a character that is just not having whatever Is happening around them
This perfectly shows the stress of someone borrowing your phone, for example, stress of someone breaking your very own phone is portrayed perfectly as the scout throws it out of anger, forgetting that he is borrowing someone Else’s phone, and the stress that the sniper then experienced after with his frustrated “WHY!?” All the more adds to the situation.

My God... this is a masterpiece. I don't have words to express how these warped models are so great; they're just so twisted they aren't recognizable anymore; if you were to remove the voices, one would have difficulty telling whose model each character was based from and it's glorious. Also, the crazy weird antics and logic are always on point.
And the fact MIDGITEER is back! THE LEGEND RETURNS!

lmao the comment above this one said it's still easy to tell them apart, and THATS why its incredible
@@felixftw4702 thinking about it, they're in the "uncanny valley " in that regard: the textures are recognizable, but the faces are so warped and off model they're difficult to tell apart; plus the proportions are extremely different...

Every Eltorro64Rus video gets progressively more and more surreal and I'm here for it.
When have they not?
He's reached the point where the TF2 meme references are somehow jarringly normal. We're primed to see characters with faces so distorted we can barely perceive them as human, so when an Engineer shows up with just a slightly tight smile it becomes disturbing.
Actually seeing sane character like sniper that is not screaming, not dancing is crazy.
It’s that damn phone
that "gimme yo phoan🗣❗" was personal

Amazing

I would like to say that your animation skills have come along way, and we appreciate you making these surreal pieces of art for us.
You are right, it's awesome!
At this point the anything that looks normal in an Eltorro video looks weirder than anything else. For instance, to most cursed face in this video is engineers, and it’s pretty much not changed from it’s normal model.

god with every animation the models just get more and more screwed up

What I love about Engineer not being distorted as the others makes him ironically weirder than them.
Including the noise your headphones make when a mobile call goes through is just... such an amazing touch.
Truly a heart-racing moment for me
scene funny, big laugh 👏👏
Jesus Christ you should perhaps start writing novels or something.
I like how sniper's phone changes at least 6 times and sniper drops all of them when he dies
0:54 Such a tragic and disturbing turn for the Shortgineer's character. Truly, whatever happened to him in the years since his last appearance has turned him from a friendly messenger and dance enthusiast into a murderous psychopath. A chilling reminder that even the most innocent of us can turn.
The spunker
I mean, he WAS thrown into the gaping maw of a Scout and exploded atomically not long after, only to be likely put back together again from scratch and having to relearn all his basic functions, with yhr last thing he remembers being a disgruntled Sniper throwing him far off towards four giants.
I'd be a bit irritable too towards Snipers, if that happened to me.
But hes still a dance enthusiast!
