I am really glad prices are coming down actually. It means more folks can enjoy these cool vehicles. I'm also glad because I'm hoping to snag a nice 40th at some point in the next few years at a reasonable price! With this vehicle, I was OK paying a bit more for the lockers + meticulous service records. At the time, I was worried about buying a neglected vehicle so really loved the care this one was given. That said, if you do the math it may be cheaper to get a rig with a great interior & exterior and even if the engine was neglected, swap in another 1fz or an LS. I do like the old 1fz and feel like it adds a bit of nostalgic character to the rig.

Nice rig Jonathon. I assume you are going to build it up. Seems like it was a bit pricey, but super desirable and rare with all the kept records and one owner. Best of luck.

Excited for this one! Just a lift and tires. Will be used for camping, traveling over the passes in CO, and big ski trips.

@@jonathanhurwitz1278 lifting mine to fit new tires and wheels. 2 and 1/2” OME. Just added a front bumper from Dissent and a Victory 4x4 roof rack.
Then going to go through all the maintenance to make sure it’s trail worthy.

@@jonathanhurwitz1278 I’m in Northern California. Can’t add pics here. There is a great LC/Lexus shop in my home town that only does modifications. Check it out some time. MUDRAKS.
More work to do, but this run has exhausted funds. So sliders and rear bumper system will have to wait a while. 😀

    Hey everyone! Some comments below:
    - the smoke smell is worse than any other vehicle I've been in, so I actually bought a new OEM carpet and will take everything out. I'll power wash the rear carpet and sound deaden while I'm in there. I am hoping to leave the seats in tact...hopefully not too much smoke in the foam. The leather in the 2nd and 3rd rows has never been used and feels brand new. The fronts are worn.
    - the triple lockers were never used by the previous owner and actually did engage when the car arrived to me, but now don't engage (the CDL doesn't). I'm assuming the CDL actuator needs replacement and then the others will work (maybe lol)
I've always wanted a 450, and will lift this + do tires but nothing crazy with bumpers or roof racks. It'll be the adventure car and my current 3rd gen 4runner will retire from that duty. The LC will be doing some of the passes in CO this summer, Imogene is first on the list! My dream to complete the "fleet" would be a 2002 limited 4runner in thundercloud gray and a 40th anniversary in the gray color, triple locked.

Way worth it. I could see this bringing close to $30k with that low miles, the condition and all the regular service it had. People have to remember that this is 26 years old so of course it won't be perfect.

I just can't get over these prices. hate to keep mentioning it but, i bought a 02' Montero for less than $5000, these old Land Cruisers AREN'T THAT MUCH DIFFERENT.

I feel you. I'm glad prices are coming down. Ultimately, something is worth what people are willing to pay for it and for everyone that's different!
