If you get a bad backlash. Tighten your drag up tight, place your thumb on the spool real firmly and reel your handle 2 or 3 revolutions. Then pull the lash out. May have to do it 2 or 3 times but it will work.
Dont forget to loosen drag back up afterwards. Nice setup you have there. Keep the content coming.

Alot of people don't understand what bfs was started as or designed for lol they all think ultra light fishing. It's not for that it's for light weight bass fishing like ned rigs, light balsa cranks like rapala, small light cranks/jerkbaits, smaller light soft plastics. It's basically a replacement for standard spinning gear techniques. It's been moving into replacing crappie style baits and fishing in the last couple years though. Bfs fishing and custom built reels have been around for 20 plus years, actual bfs reels and rods have been in Japan for 15 plus years. It's just newer to the US market and US fisherman.
FYI you can't judge that a bass is a spotted bass by the tongue having a rough feel to it because largemouth sometimes have that as well. The lateral line and the spots along the belly area are 100% giveaways though lol. Spots always have a certain pattern and are beautiful fish that I hate but love to catch 😂

Also Larry what Abu Garcia reel would you recommend for under two hundred I love the Revo sx series but any different one?
I love the SX but if I was selecting a different one the Max Pro is sweet also. Id just buy the reel and get a rod that goes with what you want to use it for.

@@JohnMarkSass In my opinion it’s the best rod they make. A few of our local dealers will carry them for 89 also so always check for a sale if you’re thinking about picking one up.
