I love the FastCap lefty/righty. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, but it really is helpful. And the fractional readings make it much quicker. On top of that, it is dead on with my Starrett combo square. The finger break for the tape is a nice bonus as well. All of that to say, FastCap is easily my favorite!
I have two of the lefty/righty tapes. Love them. I did bust one of the covers dropping it.
Ive got the left/right double read 16ths tape measure by Fastcap, and it is INCREDIBLE

Best tape measure I’ve found. I literally have 20 of them between my shop, home and a couple in my vehicle for client consultations. I really like using the metric one for my cnc. The pencil sharpener is also a fantastic addition.
They need a protective coating on top of the markings. My scratched up within a month of usage. Other than that, it’s a decent device

Try tajima hi-lock. It changed my life.
You can get one where a part of the tape has a matte finish that accepts pencil marks. You can use the tape as a 16 foot “story stick” and erase them when you move on to next project.
I love my fastcap tape measures.
Metric is the future. Can't use one without metric scale

I just bought 2 of the 16’s because I’m tired of doing math (I like the fractions on it).
The fractions make it so much faster. And I make less mistakes

I think the 10 seconds here, the 1 minute there, another minute elsewhere collectively add up!

I agree, their tape measures are the best I used. At this point. I own at least 10 of them. Also note that they have many different varieties. I usually tell people that they should check out all the varieties cuz they may figure out that they have something they didn't know they needed and they may find something that they think will work best for them. At one point I wrote a couple paragraphs. They're tape measures but I won't bother cluttering up your comments with that.
That was the lefty/ righty for me. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but now I don't know how I ever lived without it🤣

This is the brand that I have been using for probably 15 or so years. BUT absolutely not the Best you can buy. I took the bait and clicked as I thought I would learn of a new best tape measure.

Comment worth reading. I work in the steel fabrication industry and we have to check the calibration of every tape we use. One would be surprised on how many tape measures are inaccurate. So until you check the calibration, one can't tell me the best tape measure out there. Special calibrated tape measures we use to check our store bought tapes cost over $100 US.
Meh, doesn't have the IMPORTANT markings on it for 1/8 and 1/16 increments
being left-handed, and older, there is very little things set up for lefties, easy to say just grab it with your other hand but after being a south paw for 69 yrs. its not that easy. go for 2 weeks doing thing left-handed and you`ll see how it is :)
I bought 3 of these FastCap after watching this video. All three have play on the hook just like every cheap measuring tape I have thrown in the trash. What a SCAM.
They are supposed to have play in the clip. All tape measures have that on purpose. Push the tip against something for an inside measurement, and the hook is included in the reading; hook it on the end of a piece for an outside measure, and the resulting gap equals the space the hook would take up.
