- I'd never thought much about the show Mummies Alive until someone requested I take a look at this episode. Not only do we have the obviously-a-furry tour guide lady in the cat costume, we also have an obviously- written-without-any-research incarnation of the goddess Bastet. Meow! Talk about a GILF! Plus, bonus cat transformation and panty shot at 1:33

If only bastet awoken in the 2010s she'd have an army.
Egyptians were the first furries.
Please shut up
I had a good laugh at Bastet demanding she be the cat that got the tuna!
"Where are my cat worshippers?"
At home with their 30 cats.
I had never heard of this show until I saw this video. Interesting is about all I can say.
Tuna? her army could be beaten by Catnip
It's apparently very addictive to cats. Some vets consider it to be enough to turn housecats into junkies, only accepting to eat it and nothing else.
Furaffinity hadn't been invented yet. Otherwise she'd draw a crowd pretty easily

Nowadays Bastet would not only draw felines about also other furry together for the grand imperial revival. 😸
I wish I have a cat like Bastet but with her having a tail
Loved the outfit, and the post nap stretch, but ug everything else hurt like needles in the brain. I might be able to tolerate the snobby personality, but Bast was a guardian deity of the solar pantheon if anything she would have been Over-protective of the reincarnated pharaoh. Especially when she sees the serpent mummy taking him away.
And I am greatly peeved at the lack of kitty tail in this episode. If you are gonna screw it up, screw it up right.
Minor correction ten years late... But _Sekhmet,_ or _Sekh_ if we use her Original Egyptian Name (Sekhmet was the Roman rebranding of her name), was the Guardian Deity of the Solar Pantheon, Protecting the Cities and Temples as the Sun rose.
Bast was the Guardian Deity of the _Lunar_ Pantheon, protecting the Temples and Cities under the light of the moon.
Outside of their shared attributes (Goddesses of Fertility, War and Healing), They were yin and yang, night and day, Sekh was strongest in the day, Bast was strongest in the night...
And before you ask, Sekh only really let the Bloodlust get to her shortly after she was born from the Left Eye of Ra. Once Ra split her energy, she was in control of her hotblooded nature, though she was still a berserker when she had to be...
So basically, Sekh and Bast would be _VERY_ overprotective... Especially Sekhmet if someone tried to threaten children in her line of perception.
The whole "Sekhmet is a Goddess who spreads pestilence" is because of The Tale of Moses and the Seven Disasters, which were set up by the Hebrew God, and done so by taking the burnt incense from the temples of the Gods, and using the ashes to spread plagues that Sekhmet would have cured, which targeted parts of the body Sekhmet is mainly attributed to... Those being the Genitals as Sekhmet is mainly associated with Fertility outside her duties as a War and Healing Goddess.
In fact, if you go to Egypt and visit the museums and the temples, you will find that pretty much all statues of Sekhmet have an Ankh in one hand, as well as a Khorpesh in the other, the Ankh being a Symbol of Life, Healing and Fertility. Her expression is also portrayed as very benign, which, if she were to be feared and made to stay away from, her statues would be always shown looking angry.
Sorry for the essay length comment, just felt the need to set facts straight.
I wished other of my childhood cartoon favourites from the 90s like Biker Mice From Mars, Space Cats, Creepy Crawlers, Super Dave, Hammerman, The Adventure of Hyperman, Blazing Dragons, Cowboys of Moo Mesa, The Addams Family, Albert the Fifth Muskeeter, Santo Bugito, Iznogoud, Walter Melon, and captain simian and the space monkeys were finally released onto complete DVD at last just like Mummies Alive!: The Animated Series.
In fact I got entire episodes of Mummies Alive!: The Animated Series on DVD by Pidax Animation company in Germany which has two languages option either German or English that allow me to list to English dubbed👍.
Was there a show called Space Cats? You might mean the Swat Kats, I thought.

season 3 episode A Chilling Discovery
Have you ever thought about using some scenes from Sonic X, such as the panty shots and that scene where Rouge is a bath?
Please the name
I love cats, but I would never worship one.
What show is this???
Also don't forget the episode where Scarab summons Sekhmet, to cure his cold - she ends up transforming into a sexy anthro vulturess. (And btw, already did R34 of her...)
I was about to mention her myself. She also had a amazing rack, although her apperance beared no resemblance to the "actual" Sekhmet who was mostly depicted as a lioness, or human with a lionesses head.
HawaiiKnut Yeah, it was odd that they choose a vulture-head for her, as otherwise the show's creators seemed to be really well-versed in egyptian mythology. My guess is, as she appeared one episode after Bastet, they did not want kids to confuse the two kitties.
Swift Nimblefoot That's possible. Even though lionesses have larger mouth and nose and rounder ears, Sekhmet and Bastet do in fact look similar to each other on drawings, paintings and carvings.
HawaiiKnut Perhaps they actually were the same goddess but with different names depending on which dynasty the drawings came from. It isn't unheard of in mythology.
drivernjax I've read somewhere that they could have been two aspects of the same deity, similar to Sekhmet/Hathor.
wtf
I would do

Aye, they sure took many liberities. Anubis and Ammut were portrayed antagonizing too.
I also like how Bastet call herself the "grandest godess". She was a relatively minor deity in Ancient Egypt. She was nowhere as important as Ra, Horus, Anubis, Isis, Osiris, Hathor and so on.
but was popular in people in fact they loved cats so much that they kill any body who would harm them even from accident
Bastet was the goddess of protection, pleasure, and the bringer of good health. She had the head of a cat and a slender female body. Bastet was the daughter of Ra, sister of Sekhmet, the wife of Ptah, and the mother of Mihos. Since the Second Dynasty, Bastet was worshiped as a deity, most commonly in Lower Egypt.
What show is this scene from?
