I just LOOOOVE Heka. She is so sassy and sarcastic, but deep down you see she cares for her master. Btw, probably no coincidence that Pauline Newstone was hired for Ninjago to voice another sarcastic golden cobra lady with Aspheera... Some of the writers must have remembered this show.
For some time I have been observing that many people affirm that being sarcastic is being "oneself" as they really are. And I totally disagree. If a person was sarcastic all the time, at least they would smash their mouths on the ground... in a group. And it is not an invitation to speak honestly either, because they already know the story and its moral: nobody can stand the truth.
She only got golden when absorbing Kai's elemental fire ability though.
And that's why Heka's voice was so familiar... (shame Aspheera was turned into a one note character though, bent on nothing but revenge, hell Pythor was mocking it even)

I didn't really watch this show growing up, but Heka being an Order-Taker in the drive through and pressing computer keys with her tongue were genuinely hilarious and caught me completely off guard.
I like her voice, fits perfectly for her character.

This show was legit. Sad it never got more then 1 season with great writing and characters like Heka. Glad i had a VHS of this in like 2002 or 3 lol. A lot of these shows get written off as TMNT Clones which they are, but nobody looks into the actual production value of it
The animation in this one looks so good too.
Hekka being Ocean Dub Frieza makes this even better.
I know this show is about Crime Fighting Mummies, but I don’t remember it being this silly. 😆

Same. My kid self remembers Skarab as that creepy and badass dark sorcerer obsessed with rejuvenation. But my adult self now sees a goofy old man who does cucumber eye patches and doesn't know how to money, and it's endearing.
@@pokerface4396 The show could do both dark and funny really well. Scarab can do some downright horrifying evil stuff one episode and then be a goofball in the next.
