I grew up on post war Little Tam. Corte Madera. Starting early I hiked, and ran, every trail. Joyce shows a true appreciation and knowledge of the mountain. She describes how this mountain shapes ones outlook on life. On my explorations I came across the dark sides of the mountain as well as its beauty and promise. Seeing the Pacific, realising the world lay at my feet was mind opening. Authentic writing Joyce, thank you.
Charlie responds, traveling with Mom on 101, "... well, that sure sounds like Dad..." Yes, he loves his Dad for who he is. Thank you that, Joyce Maynard.
Just to let you know in advance: this is an episode of "The Joyce Maynard 'I'm Still Talking About J.D. Salinger' Show." It has almost nothing to do with "The Art of Authentic Memoir."
