      CycleCruza dude I’m just getting back into riding, when I was young I had 3 rice rockets but now I’m 46 with 4 kids so I’m all about safety buying my first cruiser. I never even wore a helmet never mind body armor but you are my main source of catching up to speed with the times I really like your thinking it’s mine as well I want shit that works at a frugal price after all I’m the CEO of the frugal club........👍🏻🇺🇸

    I loaned one to my brother to use at the tail of the Dragon. his throttle got stuck from new hand grip install. 1500 miles after the fact anyways, over the hill he went in this jacket and Tour master solution ll boots. And he walked away, got the bike pulled out and rode the rest of the week. he was trapped under the bike, this saved a lot of injury and burns. so it did work.

    ATTN FYI- Many of you have asked me about the unprotected areas on the Perrini Armor jacket, such as the sides of the rib cage where there is no armor. Although I think you will be ok at city speeds, my solution is to wear a kevlar shirt underneath the armor jacket fro extra protection. Here is a link to where you can get a kevlar shirt: amzn.to/1lSGktO

      I got a second one for $75. Its just too good to pass up. BTW the GoPro mounts stick to it. And the double screw thing you used will also mount in any slot on the hard surface just put a nut on it with some loctite.

    Another option to hi-viz vests is hi-viz tape. I carefully cut some patterns into my hi-viz orange tape and man did it improve my black helmet's visibility and looks. I also placed two small over cutouts on my bike tastefully. You could cut a nice pattern and a few on your plastic outer armor parts. This will allow air to flow through your jacket better then the vest. I'll try to post a video of my customized helmet, soon.

      I'm considering purchasing one of these as an alternative to expensive martial arts protective gear. My two questions are, first, do you think that the forearm/elbow protection could stand up to a decent swing from a blunt steel blade, and second, will this allow you to raise your arms above your head?

    I loved your idea. Ended up buying the Fox Titan motocross armour jacket for Australian summer. It was relatively cheap and soooo much better in the heat. I thought i might attract a bit of ridicule for looking like a Power Ranger or something but quite the opposite - other riders were hella jealous in their sweaty textile jackets!

    Check out the Draggin Jeans Kevlar Long sleeve shirt to toss over that jacket and then you will have abrasion protection along with impact. Only about 100 bucks and air just goes straight through the shirt. Great info on the armor jacket, thanks!

      @CycleCruza  10 років тому

      This jacket has abrasion-resistant slider panels! No need to wear anything over it. Believe me I've seen cats walk away from crashes with just long sleeve shirts, this jacket will protect you, if you get one you will see how well constructed this jacket is..

    I have this same piece of armor. I usually wear large shirts and everybody says get one size bigger so I got an XL. Still too small. Go two sizes bigger. It was really digging into my arm pits while riding in this. I cut the sleeves off and just use the spine and chest protector

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 років тому

      It's supposed to fit body tight to keep the armor secure, it should not fit like a regular jacket. Mine is super tight but doesn't dig into my armpits. I was going to get an XL but I wanted it to fit under my jacket but it still wouldn't fit under my jacket. I wish I had an XL or bigger but I'll just break it in the more I wear it. I bought this jacket last year but just got around to trying it out.

    That's a similar system to what I run.. I told ya that was the way to go.. MODERN BABY! Its 2014.. I run the Icon version of that. I wouldn't call that a true "jacket" though.. its a exoskeleton. I went down in Icon version without a jacket over it and it worked real well.. I did get a spot of roadrash on my left love-handle though, they got "weak spots" in them. For full protection you want to run a textile mesh jacket with the internal armor removed. Icon Contra has been the best one for the money I have found. Yeah, exoskeleton type armor is the SHIT! Glad you came on board. CC.. now you WILL walk away from a low-side at 60mph without much problem as long as you "ragdoll".. don't fight it, just let it happen. It doesn't hurt with that shit on anyway. Youll feel fine for most of the day, when you wake up the next morning youre gonna feel that someone worked you over with a baseball bat. Youll barley be able to move...
    Now get yourself some knee and shin guards..you wont believe how much damage happens to your lower leg without them.. that last lowside would have taken my knee cap off without them.. EVERY TIME Ive gone down, your knee and shin takes a beating.. you should see my knee guards.. looks like someone took a belt sander to them.. they survive multiple wipeouts too so they last. I use these and you should be able to find them cheaper than this.. I think I paid 60
    www.jazzmotorsports.com/knox-cross-max-knee-guards-pair-black-p-318900.html?gclid=CJyWru7cib0CFcZZ7AodV2UAEA
    They are multi pupose and you can customize them , get rid of the cheesy graphics. I wanted something that would work with short boots and go OVER my riding pants so I could take them off when I got to where I was going. The protection is amazing and Ive battle tested them, You can trust them at street and highway speeds up to 65mph at least.

      I wear AGVSport Willow perforated leather pants with CE Armor underneath my camo pants in the winter (To keep cold air from coming in), and in the summer I wear the leather CE armor pants alone. I will never stop wearing motorcycle pants. Like I said in my video I went down on a scooter in the rain and my hip and shin got bruised and scraped. That day I went down on the scoot I ordered the motorcycle pants.

    hey hello... I really like this sort of armor... yet it seems to be ok for cold to mildly cold climates... imagine wearing this gear in Florida... Texas... Alabama... or México city... you will be burning in your own juices... in 5 minutes... is there a option for such hot climates??? ... lets also consider that many riders are going to be walking for many hrs with this stuff... like me... as I am looking to be protected when driving yet I also need to take long repeated walks to my costumers... options?

    Cruza - Excellent review. Excellent. Went to Cycle Gear today and spent several hours trying on out various mesh body armor suits. Most are bulky and uncomfortable. The Fox Triton is pretty a good fit. Problem is that my Aerostitch outer shell (which I'd wear when it's cooler) gets hung up on the top of the back protector and I can't get the Aerostitch off. I like the Perrini because the armor is nicely contoured. It appears that it would work well with my Aerostitch outer shell. Question for you regarding fit... I am 5'10" and weight 210 lbs, with a 45" chest. Should I get the XL or the XXL? Thx Cruza.

Level 1 (I've got both level 1 & level 2 back protectors and one of my level 1(*KNOX BACK PROTECTOR) feels very solid and I've had someone git me with a bat and I could hardly feel it. I prefer it over a shorter level 2 RST jacket insert e en tough the level 2 is supposed to absorb twice the inpacr. The Knox protector covers the whole spine. I'd rather have that than have the bottom third exposed. Level 2 is supposed to absorb twice the amount of impact but I feel the KNOX level 1 is better. Always ask the sellee if uts CE certified level 1 or 2. Dont accept just CE certified. That's all I can say on the subject.

    I really like the idea of using the armor in replacement of a jacket, but i am worried about possible road rash on the unprotected areas, especially the sides(of the rib cage) where sliding is very possible. have you considered this? it is only thing stopping me from buying it so far. I wouldnt want to purchase an additional jacket to put overtop

      Wear a kevlar shirt underneath if you are concerned. Kevlar shirts are still cool in hot weather but will protect your skin. Here is the link to where you can get a kevlar shirt: amzn.to/1lSGktO

    How adjustable is this jacket? The reason I ask is that I just measured my chest at 44", but I know my weight fluctuates a lot, depending on how active I am. I could see myself fluctuating between 42" and 46" and would like to pick one that may be a little large but that can be adjusted pretty tight if necessary.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 років тому

      You can adjust the arms and the kidney belt. Go exactly by the sizing chart. Never get it too big, I tried an an extra large and it was too big. You want the jacket tight to help keep the armor in place, also, you will wear it in and it will fit better the more you wear it. Best of luck!

    I am 6'1 at 150lbs so a large? CycleCruza is a bit larger than me and he said it was a bit tight so I am thinking it will fit me fairly well.

      You want it tight to keep the armor in place, will be safer for you. You can get the XL and just pull the adjustment straps tighter to fit you. That way you will grow into it as well. Best of luck!

    Cycle cruza you are awesome. I really enjoy your videos and sure thing is that I've learned a lot about motorcycles from your channel (I am already a subscriber but if I could I'd subscribe a 2nd time as well) . I have a bit of a problem about this armour. From the chart you feature in your video I'm a size M but on the link you provide it seems like I need an XL. I have a 39 in chest 32,5 in waist a 30in belly a 23 in sleeve and a 22 in torso. Which size should I choose? I would really appreciate it if you could help me on this one. I know you probably won't be following such an old comment section but I thought I'd better give it a try, besides, what do I have to lose?

    Another great video CycleCruza. Just on question here, I'm really looking forward to getting this body armored jacket but I'm kind of worried it will interfere with the neck brace, especially in the spine area. Do you ride this with a neck brace ? Any idea? Thanks man!

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  9 років тому

      Thanks, no I don't ride with a neck brace. Just remove those shoulder straps, that should prevent interference. Actually, the shoulder straps are not on when you get the jacket, they are in the box, you can choose to put the straps on or not.

    • @exionem
      @exionem 9 років тому

      CycleCruza Thanks man, just wondering, what are your thoughts regarding wearing a neck brace on the road, since many motorcyclists suffer from severe neck injuries, leaving them paraplegic or quadraplegic. I know a helmet is a must but it seems like many riders don't know or care about neck protection. What is your input on this case Cruza? It would be nice if you made a video regarding your opinion on neck braces and its usefulness. Cheers!
