I have been taking care of her ever since, she still kicking , is a long revovery in her condition , and I'm thankful to God for not taking her that awful day of the stroke.

Jorge-my husband had a stroke on the right side of his brain, and now, he’s unable to speak or able to swallow-NG tube feeding which is a short term solution at the rehab facility. I know it would be a challenge bringing him home to be cared for with much love and PRAYERS. Thank you for sharing your story-similar to what I’m going through now. I Hope your wife is recovering well.

I had a psychotic break, don't know if it'll help, but I struggled with speaking for quite some time, I credit D&D5e, Dungeons and Dragons for you folks that don't know.(any TTRPG will get you there) with letting me fail gracefully enough to keep trying, and because of the structure of taking turns, and for people to sometimes dominate scenes, it allowed me that sort of period of reflection and growth, and error with grace, to succeed in becoming about as fluent as I was before.

Daddy had a stroke on February 26th, 2013, which was a day before my little brother Isaiah's 7th birthday 🎂. Daddy had a stroke while he was at work. He was prepared for a big presentation. When it was his turn, his work buddies wondered why he wasn't coming 🤔. A lady then screamed and everyone came running. His boss called 911 and the cops, firefighters, and paramedics, all came. They all took Daddy to the nearest hospital 🏥.

@marinabayview Daddy's getting better. When he was a little boy, he only wanted to eat junk food, so his parents gave him that stuff. Growing up, he ate lots and lots of junk food and very little fruits and vegetables. The only vegetables he loved were onions and lima beans. The only exercise he got was from playing baseball, his favorite sport. Daddy suffered from a heart attack at only 37 years old. My little brothers and I had to grow up watching Daddy have to go to the hospital. When I was 5 years old, Daddy had to go to the hospital to get his chest and arm cut open. He then told me and my little brothers all about it. On the day Daddy had a stroke, my youngest brother Jeremiah, who was only 4 years old at the time, had to grow up watching Daddy getting physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and constantly going to the hospital. Daddy's siblings used to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when they were kids. Daddy only wanted steak sandwiches, cakes, cookies, candies, cupcakes, brownies, chocolates, ice-cream, onions, and lima beans. He is now 66 years old. His carers at his nursing home are very kind and loving. They take such good care of him. Daddy wants to come home, but he can't because that means Mommy will have to shower him down and dress him. Since he's such a big guy, he's way too hard to take care of.

I know they’re different than strokes, but Emilia Clarke, one of the main characters from Game of Thrones, had 2 aneurysms within I believe about a 3 year stretch. The first one was in 2011. She had aphasia and lost her ability to speak and after the second one only had a 50% chance to live. She actually didn’t even tell anybody on the show about her first one because it happened right after the first season wrapped shooting and nobody even knew it was going to become such a popular show and she thought she could be easily replaced. By the time the second one happened, she was pretty much an irreplaceable actress. Anyway, my point is that not only did she regain her ability to speak in her native British accent, but she also had to to speak two other completely made up languages in Game of Thrones and she also spoke in an American accent for movies too. She kept all this totally quiet until she gave an interview to the New Yorker in 2019. The only person probably besides her family and very close friends she told about her first one was Jason Mamoa, who plays Aquaman and also played her husband during season 1 of Game of Thrones. If you’re looking for an inspirational story check out hers.

Not if it WORKS. The games bother you, because you don't need them. Well, I wouldn't be typing this tonight, if it wasn't for the help of similar programs, that helped me to rewire my brain, back into phase with reality.
I've survived 2 TBIs, within 7 years. 2nd hit, I was hit & thrown off my bicycle by an SUV, landed directly onto my the top of my head, and over my left ear, while wearing my bicycle helmet. My Cognitive Centers took a direct bit, helmet cracked and shattered, in 7 places. I wear prisms in my glasses, for one eye now, back molars shattered, (Neck broken, spine & lumbar all in constant pain). Most don't survive this.
Was already fighting amnesia from the first injury. This one sped up my brain, to where I was thinking significantly faster than everyone else! Felt so scared & alone!! Veterans' Administration were the only ones who not only understood my special type of brain injury plus rapid thinking! They took me on as a patient, said my injuries were similar to the ones our soldiers suffered, when an IED went off under their Humvee, threw them onto their helmeted heads, dear Lord!!
Brain heals, via repetition, then reinforcing it.
One game just really got under my skin, you had to wait to push the button. But I wanted to push it so badly, that I finally HAMMERED the button for several seconds, and felt great relief! Poor Lady running it came running in, asked me what happened? "Um, just had to get the urge to hit the damned button out of my system, I'm so sorry!" She saw me relaxed, said that the session was over for the day. I forgot the computer system recorded what I did. The alarm went off, she didn't know what was going on, ;>
All the games did help me, I admit.

Still though, they could be improved a lot, which seems to be backed up by your urge to hit a button you had to wait for for no reason. Something is better than nothing, I just can't help to protest and egg the world on to do better. I'm speaking from both a gamer and game developer perspective by the way; knowing how easily it could be made better amplifies my annoyance a lot. I hope you get better.
