Thanks. The good news is that over the last 10 years I've certainly seen much more of a focus on empathetic leadership and concern for mental health. So hopefully we are heading in the right direction.

He has now became a director of a tech company.

No you can absolutely share them with anyone regardless of age. Being a good leader has nothing to do with age. In fact I’ve got a video coming out in a few weeks which talks about the advantages and disadvantages that younger people have when leading teams. I’m sure you’ll find it interesting.

I've just subscribed to your channel! Thanks for the tips and tricks. I've just got a TL deputy position at my company. My future plan is to be a good Team Leader. It is a big forward stepping for me but I always dreamed about it. I hope I can achieve it in 2 years.
Excellent news. Well done on starting your leadership journey. It's great that you have the mindset to want to keep improving. Put the time in to learn the many skills you'll need and don't be daunted by setbacks and challenges. It's not an easy job but all issues can be solved. Good luck!
My current Team Leader asks me or convinces me to replace her position because she has new tasks to handle and that would be a new team for the new process, and I am very reluctant to grab that position because I did not feel to be in that position handling a team I am currently working with. I am afraid of bigger responsibilities and I already think I could not do it. I already refused to up for grabs and said I am not fit for that. I am not seeing myself as a team leader but she just said, you are at an advantage in that position, you already knew the process because if we will look outside from our team that will be another adjustment. She is also seeing my potentials that I did not see in myself fitting in. Now, she just gives me time to think and later on my manager will also talk to me for possible promotion. I don't know, so far this time, I am not really interested.
Why do you think you cannot do it? Remember they wouldn’t ask you if they didn’t have confidence in you. Sure, it might be hard and there will be lots to learn but the challenge is what brings success. Being afraid is ok, we all are when we start new roles. But believe in your ability and be willing to learn and it could be the start of a great leadership career. All top and senior leaders had to start somewhere.
