    00:50 - Develop Self-Awareness
    01:56 - Be genuinely empathetic
    03:04 - Be a Forward Thinker -- many people describe this as 1-3-5 year plan, bigger picture, vision, company mission
    04:12 - Take Accountability (Ownership) - Own up to things -- none of the credit, all of the blame
    05:35 - Put your own spin on things - Probably mentioning uniqueness. He mentions psychological and nudging tricks, but doesn't actually list any.

    My story of becoming a team leader was so dramatic, I used to be the team player type of guy instead of team leader type, i was on a long leave as I was having my college exams, and on one fine day i recieved my next month roster and message from management that I was appointed as a new team leader and will join them as a TL on my first shift , and the very next day was my birthday, I still remember I was so nervous and anxious, all my previous TLS resigned before i came from my leave, I had no one to teach what to do and how to manage everything by my self, it was so tough that I was almost on an edge of breaking, but now it's been 5 months , I only followed one quote that i found randomly on Google that "be a leader like you always wanted to have and do things differently instead of doing different things", now i m considered as one of the best TL and many of the staff wants to join my team , coz I keep my team so close that we now share same thoughts.

    My current Team Leader asks me or convinces me to replace her position because she has new tasks to handle and that would be a new team for the new process, and I am very reluctant to grab that position because I did not feel to be in that position handling a team I am currently working with. I am afraid of bigger responsibilities and I already think I could not do it. I already refused to up for grabs and said I am not fit for that. I am not seeing myself as a team leader but she just said, you are at an advantage in that position, you already knew the process because if we will look outside from our team that will be another adjustment. She is also seeing my potentials that I did not see in myself fitting in. Now, she just gives me time to think and later on my manager will also talk to me for possible promotion. I don't know, so far this time, I am not really interested.

    • @ProductivityACE
      @ProductivityACE  Рік тому +1

      Why do you think you cannot do it? Remember they wouldn’t ask you if they didn’t have confidence in you. Sure, it might be hard and there will be lots to learn but the challenge is what brings success. Being afraid is ok, we all are when we start new roles. But believe in your ability and be willing to learn and it could be the start of a great leadership career. All top and senior leaders had to start somewhere.

    If I summarize this correctly, this is what I’ve learned.
    1. Don’t power trip, view yourself in other people’s shoe before coming up with an action.
    2. It’s everybody’s effort, not just yours, but be ready to protect them always. Everyone should get a piece of the pie.
    3. Have a concise goal for the future so you have an idea on what direction should you take.
    4. Being a Leader is a Privilege, not a right. Be sincere and responsible for the duties you carry out.
    If I miss something, I hope you guys can correct or add to it😁
