    I've had some bad bosses in the past and here's what they did wrongly;
    1) Micromanagement
    2) Lack of trust
    3) No conviction/direction
    4) Unequal treatment of people
    Avoid these mistakes yourself🙌🙌🙌

I didn’t know it at the time the guy was rebuilding his whole operation.. but as with anything I do I have it a 125% and little buy little our performance and our quality of work got better we had a synchronized pattern developing. And after a few personal changes we started goin places and bamn... we won one and another And another and so on .. and then we won a championship we were pleased with that... it made me more hungry!!
    But now I see how that happened and am looking to better ourselves and as a team

    I just did a similar video on leadership, but for IT industry specifically. The thing is, not every tech guy can make a great manager/leader/business person/entrepreneur.
    I’ve seen so many people who could make it, but didn’t: because of micromanaging, because of not understanding how things work, etc. You really need to build a team you can rely on, because you cannot possibly replace every role in the company and do things on your own.
    Ah, so much to be said here.

    • @OlgaPogozheva
      @OlgaPogozheva 3 роки тому +1

      @@sparcx86channel42 I agree with you. Before I started my company, I worked for a tech guy who thought he's a thought leader. In reality, he was shallow-minded, easily offended, not welcoming any contradictive thought, firing everyone on the go kind of fella. He made the entire company watch scientologists' videos and tried to push "living for a company" ideology, when in reality, he didn't understand that the product was his, not ours. And unless we receive equal share, don't expect equal effort and care.
      But he couldn't get it. WHY, with all the perks he provided, his employees still didn't worship him or the PRODUCT? "You should BELIEVE and LIVE for what you do, and not just receive paychecks for dumb coding!.." he would say. We even had the PRODUCT's BIRTHDAY celebrated in the company (like it was a living thing - and mind you, it was just a regular VPN solution). My, my.
      Such a poor deranged guy. I never had this policy in my team. Having been an employee, I do understand that everybody looks after their takeaways, always. All I care for, is that people in my team are paid on time, and deliver results in return. And of course, I'm the go-to person for them, for any issues of theirs: documents, legal advice, family situations, etc. Somehow I've built a "family type" of a company. For a small team, it works.

    It would be great to see more people actually listen to the clip before commenting. His experience is well worth learning from. The only caveat to Pat's message is that the employer needs to have a business worthy of attracting top prospects. It's no use building loyalty with mediocre staff. Going 5 layers deep and building a company culture with a two dimensional sales force is not going to get you anywhere. Build a business or at least a business model that will bring you "quality" loyal staff, a team of racing huskies not a pile of poodles waiting to be fed.

    This was easier in the military most came from similar dysfunctional back rounds.
    I respect the importance for transparency in modern times.
    Any tips on what levels to expose or reveal myself and how to become more comfortable doing so, regarding civilians would be awesome !!!
    In The United States Marine Corps the relationships were forced into a level of intimacy which resulted in a level of loyalty that I struggle to produce in civilians.
