Amazing tutorial. Loved the possibilities of my little volca sample but had no idea sounds could be pitched to notes. Made me completely rethink how I use my Volca. Thank you!!!
Awesome. We've tried it and it worked. Best select your pad first then press function and then change speed(notes). For if not done right you can delete or loop the whole thing. Great tutorial man! I have the volca since today and i really had something starting with this great vid! Thanks!

Great video! Thanks for sharing The final track is awesome , but can you change the overall note of the secuence? ...in order to create a whole song for example not only a loop? Thanks?
Woah mate, I knew you could do that but didn't know the way ;) I was messing with speed knob during live recording and making the melody right was kind of hard. But you can make scratching sounds doing it my way (for any hh fans out there) ;) Cheers, thank's for the video.
+Solimara Answer is NO. All keys on midi keyboard connected to Volca Sample will trigger sample with the same pitch, but You can try this: ua-cam.com/video/US4WeItgurE/v-deo.html
+Dennis Mozgovoy Thanks, it's amazing the sound you can squeeze out of this thing! I just got mine, I am learning still...I could read the (manual) a thousand times, but I learn alot more watching hands on videos. Your work is certainly helpful Sir, thank you.
Hey thanks for the sweet tips!! Was wondering what’s your method/philosophy on patterns vs song? Like any ideas for if you’ve used up all 10 patterns? Is there a way to save all the patterns (sample slots, motion seq, part programming, etc) to an external device to be able to swap out patterns?
Michael Swanson Never had an urge to save my patterns on external device, don’t know if it’s possible, these machines was designed as affordable live performance instruments so I’m not expecting versatility of the high budget sampler from that little monster. My philosophy is using Volca’s as midi slave with software or hardware sequencer as Akai MPC for example. You can see examples in my older videos, where Volcas was controlled by Logic Pro and later when I started sequencing theme with the AKAI MPC 1000.
Hi dennis, amazing video. I have a question for u: u can do irregular metrical patterns like 5/4 7/4 with this? I wanna buy one and i dont know if u can. Sorry about my english and sorry if im not clear
Tomás Castillo Niosi Yes You can create odd time signature patterns, All Volcas pattern length can be adjusted from 1 to 16 steps, Volca Sampler can combine two and more patterns into the songs and all Volcas pattern can be changed manually, so by combining two patterns, A = 16 step and B = 12 steps = 28 (16 + 12) steps divided by 4 (cause we want 4th notes) = 7/4.
I'm wanting to record sounds acoustically, classical guitar percussion ducks etc etc then pop them into a synth to manipulate them , I thought the Keys would do that but it looks like the sample does this , I wonder if any one could confirm thanks
+Dennis Mozgovoy Can you tell me how you load samples with the Volca sample? I ask as I having issues with my Volca sample Ok Go Edition!! If I use Headphone out or speaker out via my PC on Volca Sample I end up with the err decod message no matter how low or high my volume levels are. I have disable all apps in the background & any sound card enhancements like EQs ect . Now i'm at loss ...however the only thing my Volca seems to be ok with is my SG6 for loading samples but I would rather use Vosyr on my PC . Any suggestions please ???
Seems like you are doing everything just right, try to use different PC, I'm using MacBook with VOSYR to upload samples but I'm using Mbox audio interface instead of build in sound card. Let me know how it goes pleas.
@ThePc Gamer make sure no other audio is running. and before you upload a pack with vosyr, open an empty vosyr and upload that so the volca is empty adn then upload the vosyr sample pack or wahtever
I’m using ears for sure and you’ve noticed that at first I’ve got my melody programmed in the DAW so I would know what I’m doing and Volca Sample lets you tune any sound in a semitone increments with numerical representation so you just know what values represents certain interval from your root note. It’s easy to do just take some practice - like an hour.

does this work to change the tone for ANY samples? I'm confused why it's a speed nob and not a pitch nob that does this... can you break it down for me?
Yes it works for any sample. The original purpose of the knob is to change the speed but using function activates another purpose for it which is to change the pitch.
A piece of paper, father, ink and a staves, done! Edit: you can do it all in your head as well. Each increment of one (1) will pitch your sample one semitone relative to the original pitch, that simple.
@@Some_Guy_Called_Raven Are we talking about Volca Bass? If so than Volca Bass has a legit sequencer and keyboard, it's straight forward in case of Korg Volca Bass.

Yes if you’re still interested in knowing. It has a song mode where you can chain up to 16 patterns. However you can only record up to 10 patterns at once. But if you wanted to do 32 steps, you’d do 2 song patterns together. They loop as well.
