I have an early Agri-Fab mower that looks exactly like that (Serial # 000009). I'm in the process of replacing the old 10hp B&S with an electric start 14hp Briggs I picked up for $25. These pull behinds are nice and built like tanks.
I have a 44 inch Swisher pull behind. Looks to be the same as yours. Mine does a beautiful job of mowing. I pull it offset behind my 50 inch Simplicity. Really speeds up my mowing time.
Good job showing telling, I like seeing a good fixing thing up like that. I think I’ll get me one and fix me one up two cause I need one like what you got there well see ya next time see ya bye.
Haban was a company in Wisconsin that manufactured different types of attachments for multiple lawn equipment companies. I don’t remember when they went out of business. Haban also had a 60” pull type mower which I think Agri-Fab bought the design for and manufactured up to about 5 years ago. There was a Haban group on Yahoo years ago. Maybe another one on Facebook?
I like the brazing of the battery rod that is a lost art. That said do not evr dump cold water on hot metal like that. It will harden and can make microscopic stress fracture that can grow. Any ow that is where I am at so I will finish watching. Looks like a nice score
awesome. the chinooks sounded like a Harley when viewing in 2x. I just bought a tow behind of cl. 60" DR. I'll tow with my JD 318, but I need to buy a 4 wheeler as well. Maybe one with low gearing.
I've got to do an engine swap on an AgriFab pull behind. It has a 10.5 hp motor but im dropping a 20hp vtwin on it and it's going to be radio controlled. Wish me luck.
Id just make the motor pull start just take pull mechanism from old mower motor and make a bracket out of plate steel to mount it onto the other motor its actually pretty easy and a lot more reliable then a battery connection
I would've saved that other engine to rebuild it for Another future project myself.& not cut the crankshaft off either cause that other engine was.& is worth more than the one you put on to that pull behind deck lawnmower/ brush cutter setup. Their rare engines.& very hard to find.,or locate.& locate parts for style of older small engines like that one. You could have sold it on UA-cam channel as is. Like to taryl fixes shop.,or some one else for that matter instead of scrap Harding it bud. I bet now you just learned A very valuable lesson on older small engines to possibly. Cause of not heating up just the pulley part lightly then hammering it off.,or using A pulley remover tool setup.it helps after heating up to. And then spray the shafts down with penetrating oil let soak in until it cools back down some. For about 10 minutes then try the hammer trick. If that doesn't work use the pulley removing tool kit set up for pulleys.&,hubs.&some flywheels to.
