Reading I Kings 3, Solomon makes a decision involving the two prostitutes, but never actually condemns the women for prostitution. Was prostitution forbidden under Mosaic law?

Of course it was forbidden. There are a lot of things Solomon did that grieved God, just as he did a lot to please God. Prostitution was indeed a "no no", absolutely. It's things like this that make the Book of Ecclesiastics so RICH..Solomon laments about all the times he was so disobedient to God. He adds a lot of 'warnings' so we don't do the same.
