oh yeah, taking care of townies’ weird outfits once they grow up is such a hassle. but i still can’t resist seeing them all progress with their lives as i play and it irritates me when a townie outlives my sims for several generations :”)
I turn of aging for all Townies unless they become a part of my family, because I can’t be bothered to continue making them over or restyling them once the age lool and it helps my game stop auto-generating them
I have 200+ own townies (from galery and selfmade) every ages mixed and the game still continues creating random townies... Wouldn't bother me that much if it weren't so many :< What am I doing wrong? ;o; (I have all worlds unlocked except for the Strangerville, Jungle Adventure and Batuu. If I start a new game there are a total of about 180 Sims)
The problem is jobs. The game doesn't just need townies-- it needs doctors, teachers, bartenders, etc. I have the same problem, I have well over 200 Sims and keep seeing new ones. Because I haven't gone in and given people the traits necessary for the various jobs. How many bars are there in the game? With 3-4 bartenders per bar you might need 60 bartenders to handle them all. How many of your 200+ Sims have bartending skill?
@100_Dollar_Bill It's in the code, anyone can read the xml files. Certain jobs require certain traits. There are mods that will block the game from creating randoms, but then you have to create sims for everything. Or else you have roles that won't be filled.
@100_Dollar_Bill Wish I could provide more info. There are a ton of criteria which aren't easy to find. For example, nannies can't be evil. Other jobs have similar restrictions. There's even a "barfly" trait that determines who you see hanging out in bars. That's why you see the same sims over and over in bars everywhere you go. The game only assigns so many "barflies".
I really like your tips but I don’t think this will prevent new townies. I have a mega save file with hundreds of sims of all ages but the game still constantly generates more sims.
@@simsbysky7000 My maximum sim count is set to unlimited as I don’t want any of my sims to get culled. Maybe it’s related to that. But 200 sims is just too few for my playstyle.
i think you have to set the households as "other" instead of "my households" for it to stop generating new townies. not completely sure if that's the problem tho
@@applesaucenickimanaj I have 20+ played/favorited households and probably 200+ other households. I don’t think that’s the problem. To make things a bit less frustrating I ended up saving a bunch of townies to my library and let MCCC import those instead of generating weirdos. But I’d prefer it if the game stopped generating more sims altogether.
Really nice work and idea for organization and I like how it helps resolve the completely random townie situation without having to rely on a mod and still lets you have complete control while watching the world develop. I have historical gameplay goals and it is so tedious trying to recreate the entire world per save so to think I could've just been creating and saving them as other households to evict and then reintroduce into the game might've seemed obvious but my gosh I don't know why this approach eluded me. Thanks for the nice walkthrough

For console and yes even ps5,.. the game will get very laggy once it fills with generated sims! EA sports is just does not use a good engine for processing data,. Or just use way to many bot data in the background. What I do once the game gets laggy. Is save my favourite sims, start a new game, place them with the favoured houses, and save a game and name it [Don’t Delete or Save] this is my back up. Now, I save my characters progress just saving the family in Library. I replace my household and tadaa!! The game runs smooth again. Warning ⚠️: some things will be lost such as inventory items and relationship progress with sims outside the household. It’s not perfect but it’s better then having to make and place sims 24/7. The game developers are a joke compared to a Sim with lvl10 programmer skill that’s for sure 😂… EA sports can’t make roleplaying games.
there was one method i heard of which was to do one rotation (play each of your active households once for a certain amount of time) and then turn auto aging on for unplayed sims and then play a little more it's a bit overcomplicated though lol
I’m nowhere near enough annoyed by random townies to go to so much effort. I don’t see too many off-the-wall ones, and when I do, I just assume they’re quirky. Having said that, you obviously put a lot of effort into this and I’m sure many people will find it quite useful. That deserves at least a like and a comment ❤️

Great video! Somehow i didn't realise that numbers of certain sims matter. Now only game generated sims are paparazzi, which is annoying, but not that bad :)
I downloaded a bunch of sims and Sim dumps on my save file and tweaked them to my liking (it takes SO LONG). I downloaded some mods that change the spawning and manage the randomness of sims spawning (set it to 100% so only MY sims are used). Thing is that now I don't have any maids or any bartenders... Smh I still gotta fix that
I feel so silly asking this question but I need to know. So u know how u said the number of households in each world, how many sims do we put in those households. Cause San Myshuno is 12, like is that 12 households or 12 sims? Like I am sorta confused
Hey there! Okay, so the way I did it I just made that many households and I didn't pay too close attention to the number of sims in the households, originally. But now, I do think it is important to put the same number of people in the household, and so I looked into it, and I think I may have gotten the number of households wrong for San Myshuno, I think there are actually 8 households. I have no idea where I got 12 from. You didn’t mention what you do with the empty lots? I assume you build them new homes (or bulldoze/build if there is a lot there), and build them each new households?
I have a question. How to make townies to become a university student and stay at the university hosing? I tried to make a sim a university student then I make the sims live in the university housing however it annoys me that when I add another sim in that housing, I can control the both of them. I just want some of my sims live in a university housing w/o having to control them. I'm sorry if its hard to understand English is not my first language. It would b a great help for ur reply
Hi! Do you have a source that confirms what you said: "game generates random townies because there's not enough of it". I'd like to know it since I'm also making a save file that I hope I can share with people. But I think I'll surpass that number you put in this video.
I don't have a source that confirms it, I think I have heard it from a few places before and it just makes sense that the game generates townies for this reason. Just like how the game will randomly assign some NPC jobs to townies randomly, it just has roles that need to be filled and the game will randomly generate a townie to fill that role. But I suppose there is a chance I could be wrong! I just feel like it makes sense that this would be the reason why townies generate. Sorry I don't have better sources for that!

So if you use MCCC there are setting where they pull random townies from your gallery library. You can have every single one pulled from there (clothes and all) or you can do a percentage if you want to see a few randos lol

Seriously, such a hassle! I applaud you still keeping up with it though, I would love to see my townies' lives progress as my Sims' lives do!!

I had no idea the random spawns were determined by a counter! I'll try and make more elders and kids to see if those random sims stop spawning :D

No, it wouldn't slow down the game because you already have that many sims in your game. You're just replacing them.

It's not a problem. She said she deletes them first because she wants to start from scratch. You don't have to do this yourself if you don't want to.
