this video came across my recommended. so of course on a whim i decide to make a save on the spot and spend 9 hours last night on half of willow creek 😭 i haven’t had this much fun in the sims in forever 😭
this has inspired me to try make my own save! this is how i used to play with my littlest pet shops as a kid - i would set up the town with my mlp and lps houses, put each family in a home, create dynamics and lore in my head - and then pack them all up 😆

I just started my first save file based off empty worlds (also Srsly's) and this is so so helpful. I'm easily overwhelmed by such a large project (and impatient) that I really need to get organized. You gave me a lot of great ideas and a place to start. I make sims and decorate but cannot build to save my life. I have to depend on the kindness of strangers sharing their creations! Your builds look amazing, they do look realistic. Great job. Would love to see occasional updates. Thanks for posting this video. 🙂

I have a save file I'm building too- when I say building though it's a combination of my own builds and then ones from the gallery. My aim is to create a base file for future saves which really compliments my gameplay style- all lots placed will be also cohesive in appearance with others placed in that neighbourhood and create a variety of lots types amongst the worlds. I like some of your ideas!
this gives me idea to make a Pinterest board for each world because ngl I hate to see different aesthetic for each lots in the neighbourhoods lol tysm!

As much as I use Pinterest, it never occurred to me, that I could make boards for my world saves😭😭 totally doing this since I’m rebuilding every world based on seasons!!

Community lots are what always trip me up. I think its because I've looked at their placement for so long I forget I don't have to put them in the same place and can even change the lot type to be something different 😅 - I love your idea for using the park for the Mayors house.

The timing of seeing this vid is uncanny, i decided literally yesterday to try my hand at a custom savefile 🧐 i suck at building so this is gonna be a real test of persistance but also the best practice i could get i suppose 🤣 your builds look gorgeous, i‘m def gonna have to take a closer look and hopefully pick up some tips and tricks~
Great video! This was really helpful as I'm trying to build a save! PS: 15:28 if you're going for a more American approach, for the house names based on roads I would recommend naming them something like "123 Founders RD" for a more realistic approach instead of "Founders RD 123" (in my experience at least).

hell ye i havent played the game in like a year im watching this while organizing my mods folder, but im feeling super inspired to start a new save. also if you open your save in sims 4 studio and scroll to game save data theres a section called neighborhoods you can modify the names of the neigbourhoods and you can have custom names for the areas (its safe as long as you dont edit the id numbers). i would love if i could change the background images so the save could truly be custom, without it changing all of them

As I build I actually have your videos playing in the back ground. It helps so much. My one problem now is floor plans, still struggling so much with them but so far I’ve been having so much fun and it’s all thanks to you 🩷
ok rlly late but this has like inspired me to do this and I dont even have sims lmao. also odd thing to add but streets that loop, like founders does are called crescents or cres. as an abbreviation. However roads that are close to bodies of water are called Runs. For high income area's I'd use Drive(dr) because they are used for privately owned roads that lead to residential properties. For middle income, there is supposed to be atleast one farmhouse, so I would use Boulevard(Blvd) because this is used for roads with trees along the sides, but there is an apartment which means it may be more urban so I would suggest Lane seeing as Lane is used for roads without medians and I have seen apartments on Lanes. sorry for the bigass paragraph btw xx
i was JUST about to go looking for a video like this because I want to get into creating for the game and getting better with builds, so THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! 😊 only question i have is where do you originally build the houses and how do you add them to your gallery to be able to place them in your save file?
i just build them in new game and then when im done with them i hit the little folder icon on the top UI bar in build mode and upload them to the gallery that way! After that I take them from the gallery and put them into my save will all the lots cleared. Hope that makes sense!
This is great, I'm about to start my own in combination with a few mods to enable more shops on lots and home regions (plus increasing sim limits for zones.) Ngl if you play with MCCC, increasing the sim allowance was one of the best things I ever did, though I wish it could be applied per lot. (I set it to base 60, which is fine for the big nightclubs and overworld zones, but the tiny cafes and bars bug out).
@@aluhhsim maybe only the ones you feel inspired to do? I started editing the townies in my own save and tweaking their lore a bit more to make them more interesting. For example my Bob and Eliza will have had a child as teens now they have to live in an apartment in the basement of Eliza's parents.
Does the game still generate sims when you do this? Or I see you still have the homes for the people who already live so how do you keep them from moving in as your editing the save?
i try not to do any gameplay in my blank world to avoid random sims spawning, if they do spawn tho you can always delete them in the 'manage households' section when your editing the world!
Hello. What packs do you reccomend for a starter to buy? Im not a starter but I suck at the game because I always just move in houses that are already made or just randomize sims.
To anybody who is working on a save or has a save, how do you go about the lots and worlds? I mean, do you redo every world like this or only a few? I'm really stuck about what to do with mine since i like playing my game without having to randomly go into build mode to add like umbrellas or something, but i don't know if i'll end up needing to use other worlds at some point and therefore having to renovate it in the middle of me playing.
Hey i have a question, i'm trying to build a save file of my own and create lore through family trees, is there a way to instantly kill sims / turn them into ghosts? using mccc i have to actually press play and wait for the sims to die, but if i do this way the time will pass and i don't want that :( i could also do that and adjust time using ui cheats but it's kinda buggy.... basically i want to set up all families and lots and still be 8am of a sunday whenever i start playing it in the future, with no autonomy development. is that possible in any way or should i just give up on setting up deceased sims?
hmmmm there hasnt really been way that ive found to do all that without passing time. But if you go into settings you can turn off autonomy for all the sims (even the ones you arent playing), i think its in the gameplay section, that way the sims wont do anything even as time passes. Alternatively you could bring all the sims you want to get rid of to one lot so you can do more than one at a time while time passes, if that makes sense!
There's a generation mod where you can kill off sims with no moodlets for the alive sims, I can't remember the name but if you search up generations mod on google, it should be the first one. I have it in my game and it's awesome, you can also generate families for sims you created before but don't want to go through the hassle of creating grandparents and such, you can also match the family's genetics so they all look similar!
@@jaylani427 hey quick update! the name of the mod is Life manager, it would be perfect for what i need as it generates multiple generations for family trees and it even gives me the gravestones, the only issue is that if i randomize a dead parent, it won't let me change their names 🥲that doesn't fully work for me as i'm trying to recreate some familes from previous games, BUT it is nice to also have family trees for random sims in ts4, so thanks for the tip! for the ones i need specific names i will just create the sim and kill with mccc using death by cowplant, i found out this one just vanish the sim even if the game is paused!
Just a small suggestion (take it or leave it) for more realism in your America-based save files, addresses tend to follow (at least when described) house number, street name, and house numbers tend to be at least 3 numbers but in my experience 4+ is more common! And the numbers can be anything, and be any amount apart, usually as long as they’re evenly spaced (for example 1134, 1140, and 1146 are all evenly spaced but not consecutive). You may find it helpful, you may not, just wanted to mention it since you mentioned you aren’t American!
they're just live edit fences from base game :) i have the tips on how to get access to the live edit menu at the bottom of my description, after you do those steps just search DEBUG in the menu and then scroll to find them :)

it should be only the sims you place but if there arent enough sims in your world the game generates them to fill certain slots like bartenders at community lots for example!
Hey, amazing video! I've tried doing this before, but I ran into a problem with the werewolf packs. Since the townies are no longer there, there's no one to invite sims into the packs, and it become unplayable. You can't just download the original pack townies from the gallary either cus they're not automatically in the werewolf packs. Do you know any way to fix this issue?
ive never done any werewolves gameplay so sadly im a lost cause for this🙁 im sure there is a save version where all the families are there but the lots are removed so you could try searching for that maybe?
This may sound like a dumb question but i have map replacements with some of my maps, would i have to get rid of my map replacements to download the srslys boank save?
not a dumb question at all! you shouldn't have to get rid of the map replacements since those are just aesthetic, the blank save is just like any new save you would start just without the orginal lots - so you should be good! i can't confirm it for sure because i've never used map replacements but im 99% sure you can do both!
Ive been having that issue with one of my saves as well where it crashes everytime i play it. Sadly your save might just have a bug or something, cause you dont need the worlds built to play. wish i could be more help🫶
You put the names of the house in the names of the family. The lots with family have two buttons for title and description, one is the family name and info the other the lot name and info.
Thank you this was really helpful. I am considering making a base game (I only have base game) no CC save file. My question is; I have CC and mods, the mods being MCCC and Lumpinou and other misc mods that I use for my personal gameplay. Will having them in affect my save file I intend to make even if I do not use the CC? I would probably use the MCCC to make the relationships. I haven't ever done anything like this before so It's very daunting for me and I've only become confident with the general gameplay recently as I haven't had the game that long.
i dont think mods like that should affect the save - as long as u dont use them to alter anything the game cant natural do (like making households more then 8 sims etc) but using them to make relationships should be fine!

i used procreate on my ipad! sadly its not a free program but it is a one time fee. I'm sure you could find a free app that does the same thing tho :)

probably cats and dogs, get together, growing together for starting. they are just basic and handy!

@@aluhhsim maybe only the ones you feel inspired to do? I started editing the townies in my own save and tweaking their lore a bit more to make them more interesting. For example my Bob and Eliza will have had a child as teens now they have to live in an apartment in the basement of Eliza's parents.

Does the game still generate sims when you do this? Or I see you still have the homes for the people who already live so how do you keep them from moving in as your editing the save?
i try not to do any gameplay in my blank world to avoid random sims spawning, if they do spawn tho you can always delete them in the 'manage households' section when your editing the world!

To anybody who is working on a save or has a save, how do you go about the lots and worlds? I mean, do you redo every world like this or only a few?
I'm really stuck about what to do with mine since i like playing my game without having to randomly go into build mode to add like umbrellas or something, but i don't know if i'll end up needing to use other worlds at some point and therefore having to renovate it in the middle of me playing.
Hey i have a question, i'm trying to build a save file of my own and create lore through family trees, is there a way to instantly kill sims / turn them into ghosts? using mccc i have to actually press play and wait for the sims to die, but if i do this way the time will pass and i don't want that :( i could also do that and adjust time using ui cheats but it's kinda buggy.... basically i want to set up all families and lots and still be 8am of a sunday whenever i start playing it in the future, with no autonomy development. is that possible in any way or should i just give up on setting up deceased sims?
hmmmm there hasnt really been way that ive found to do all that without passing time. But if you go into settings you can turn off autonomy for all the sims (even the ones you arent playing), i think its in the gameplay section, that way the sims wont do anything even as time passes. Alternatively you could bring all the sims you want to get rid of to one lot so you can do more than one at a time while time passes, if that makes sense!
There's a generation mod where you can kill off sims with no moodlets for the alive sims, I can't remember the name but if you search up generations mod on google, it should be the first one. I have it in my game and it's awesome, you can also generate families for sims you created before but don't want to go through the hassle of creating grandparents and such, you can also match the family's genetics so they all look similar!
@@jaylani427 hey quick update! the name of the mod is Life manager, it would be perfect for what i need as it generates multiple generations for family trees and it even gives me the gravestones, the only issue is that if i randomize a dead parent, it won't let me change their names 🥲that doesn't fully work for me as i'm trying to recreate some familes from previous games, BUT it is nice to also have family trees for random sims in ts4, so thanks for the tip! for the ones i need specific names i will just create the sim and kill with mccc using death by cowplant, i found out this one just vanish the sim even if the game is paused!
Just a small suggestion (take it or leave it) for more realism in your America-based save files, addresses tend to follow (at least when described) house number, street name, and house numbers tend to be at least 3 numbers but in my experience 4+ is more common! And the numbers can be anything, and be any amount apart, usually as long as they’re evenly spaced (for example 1134, 1140, and 1146 are all evenly spaced but not consecutive). You may find it helpful, you may not, just wanted to mention it since you mentioned you aren’t American!

For the houses that you placed, I love the fences and yard pieces that make it look more realistic - are these from a specific pack?
they're just live edit fences from base game :) i have the tips on how to get access to the live edit menu at the bottom of my description, after you do those steps just search DEBUG in the menu and then scroll to find them :)

hi i’m new! when you’re rebuilding a world, and play in it, are you only gonna encounter sims you’ve placed in this world or all sims from base game??
it should be only the sims you place but if there arent enough sims in your world the game generates them to fill certain slots like bartenders at community lots for example!
Hey, amazing video! I've tried doing this before, but I ran into a problem with the werewolf packs. Since the townies are no longer there, there's no one to invite sims into the packs, and it become unplayable. You can't just download the original pack townies from the gallary either cus they're not automatically in the werewolf packs. Do you know any way to fix this issue?
ive never done any werewolves gameplay so sadly im a lost cause for this🙁 im sure there is a save version where all the families are there but the lots are removed so you could try searching for that maybe?
This may sound like a dumb question but i have map replacements with some of my maps, would i have to get rid of my map replacements to download the srslys boank save?
not a dumb question at all! you shouldn't have to get rid of the map replacements since those are just aesthetic, the blank save is just like any new save you would start just without the orginal lots - so you should be good! i can't confirm it for sure because i've never used map replacements but im 99% sure you can do both!

Ive been having that issue with one of my saves as well where it crashes everytime i play it. Sadly your save might just have a bug or something, cause you dont need the worlds built to play. wish i could be more help🫶

with the srsly blank save it moves out the families for you so i didnt have to do it one by one

You put the names of the house in the names of the family. The lots with family have two buttons for title and description, one is the family name and info the other the lot name and info.
Thank you this was really helpful. I am considering making a base game (I only have base game) no CC save file. My question is; I have CC and mods, the mods being MCCC and Lumpinou and other misc mods that I use for my personal gameplay. Will having them in affect my save file I intend to make even if I do not use the CC? I would probably use the MCCC to make the relationships. I haven't ever done anything like this before so It's very daunting for me and I've only become confident with the general gameplay recently as I haven't had the game that long.
i dont think mods like that should affect the save - as long as u dont use them to alter anything the game cant natural do (like making households more then 8 sims etc) but using them to make relationships should be fine!

im pretty sure if you search "sims 4 map overides/overlays" you should find something like what you're looking for :)
