"Hell yeah I'm a threat to the government. I'm a 22, young black male who's very aware and enlightened of what's going on in this country. Not only am I aware, but I'm sharing it with my fans. I'm a big threat, I'm not scared, this is what I was put on Earth for."
"4:44 sounds just like the neighbourhood (Bed-Stuy), I didn't feel that way about Magna Carta. Honestly I feel like I was an inspiration to 4:44, I put certain pressure on these OGs in the rap game, they know what they gotta talk about now. Cause they got this young n**** Joey Badass talking about this sh*t before they got the chance to talk about it. I'm glad I could be an inspiration."
"Me and Kendrick we don't talk too much, we never got the chance to really build, but I already know we right here with it. Timing is everything with me, I just let the Universe take its course, when that's supposed to happen, it's gonna happen."
"There's trap artists who's music to me really is game changing. F*** you if you don't f*** with me for saying this, but Young Thug, Lil Uzi, they've introduced a whole different style to this vast genre of music. They should receive their credit and their shine for that, but at the same time you got artists like Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole (..)"
** Soundtrack, in order of appearance **
    J. Cole - Wet Dreamz
Mobb Deep - Survival of the Fittest
    JAY-Z - The Story of O.J.
ScHoolboy Q - Kno Ya Wrong
    Kendrick Lamar - ELEMENT.
    ScHoolboy Q - THat Part
    Kodak Black - SKRT
    JAY-Z - Feelin' It
    Kendrick Lamar - LOVE.
    ScHoolboy Q f. Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul - Blessed

His confidence is insane "I inspired jay z's album" and "I'm one of the best rappers in the world right now" and he doesn't even say it in a cocky way but in a matter of fact way like he believes in himself that much.

isolate2elevate Exactly. He said it perfectly. Hip Hop has changed a lot. There are so many different types of rap/hip hop nowadays that it needs to be sorted out into sub genres of hip hop. Just like the claim he made about Rock and Roll. It started off as that then dispersed and out of it came a bunch of genres and sub genres. Things is a lot of old heads don’t understand that. Music is supposed to be in a constant change.

Im a 35 year old white hardcore 90s hip hop fan. Rakim, Big L, Mobb Deep, Pac and I can not understand this new generation of pussy transexual looking rappers but Joey Badass is right up there with the old school rappers in terms of skill. Very refreshing. Although the skinny jeans look ridiculous but what do I know, I guess I'm an "old guy".

Where you are now its just a reflection of your past thoughts, your past thinking, so if you wanna change your future, you gotta change your thoughts now and then put them into action ultimately

That's so true, hip- hop is evolving and I like to see the growth. Rappers shouldn't be shoved in a box, hip- hop shouldn't just be one set thing.

The thing he said in the end with me being a reflection of my past thoughts really blew my mind.. Joey needs his own podcast, he really is a indigo child

So much respect for this dude, Have been listening to him since 1999 and watching him grow. Great artist and great person, one of the only artist who's albums I would purchase rather then download.

Been a fan of Joey since the beginning i have to say that fame, money whatever never changed him as a person.
He is a true inspiration for me and a good role model for everyone!
He is a level ahead from the other rappers of today and with this interview he shows that
Can lil pump matt ox and all those other fake ass rappers say the thing he can ?
Be open minded and learn the history of hip hop first and then come here and argue with the others.
Artists such as Joey,Kendrick,Logic,J-Cole they are the real ones right now.

Man honestly, you guys do some of the best and most down to earth/honest interviews. Would love to see you guys do an interview with Black Thought, Blu, King Los ('war' is such a dope track), Jonwayne, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Anderson Paak.
