- Last Chance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled lyrics:
If you fall asleep with me
We could dream and drowse
The minutes turn to hours
We could climb a tree or two
And watch the sun go down
Upon our sleepy town
After all the time I spent with you
Summer went away
And we just weren't the same
It's just you and me alone
Not grown ups but not kids
You kissed me on the lips
(Spoken word, Marshall Applewhite of Heaven's Gate)
Let me say that our mission here, at this time
Is about to come to a close in the next few days
We came from distant space
And even what some might call somewhat of another dimension
And we are about to return from whence we came
It requires that you - if you move into that evolutionary kingdom
That you leave behind everything of human ways, human behaviour
Human ignorance, human misinformation
If I would title this tape, it would be
'Last chance to evacuate planet earth before it is recycled'

Legendary song
Hell yeah
Thank you! From my favourite album too ❤️❤️
You are a genius
I would love to see more tracks from the 90s era brought back, purely for that cosmic nostalgia.
Ah, wonder how nine cats would sound like
Linton Samuel Dawson!
More tracks...more band members :-P
would love to hear a modern version of "And the swallows dance above the sun".
@@apophis6666 I would love to hear a modern version of This Long Silence
"No Sorry, They didn't kill themselves, They transcended to the next level" Steven Wilson at NEARfest 2001
@J Jackson you were part of history. I envy you!!
"We could dream and drowse, while I look down your blouse" Steven Wilson at NEARfest 2001 (my first PT/SW show)
I was there too. Steven in a crop top was a sight to see.
@@frandrift jhhgghhhhjhhhjj
except he meant it.
Missed Colin Edwin´s bass playing but the electronic part was a nice touch
Colin's bass is the most underrated part of porcupine tree
That fretless bass made the song
Prefere much more PT version.Bass is fundamental in this song.
Really needs that “mwah” bass. Guts me that he doesn’t want to play with those three guys anymore.
That was my favorite part! 😃
Please put all these sessions on a cd! They are all wonderful.
At least on Spotify!
I realllly love the original, but the synths added to this one is really phenomenal, pretty much a required version now!
Who else was humming Colin's fretless line😂? Thanks for this amazing version, Mr. Wilson, this song gives me the goosebumps.
Yeah, he should do even less next somebody tell him please
Not humming, but hearing it in my head. :D
This version absolutely kicks ass

Magnificent !! Beautiful !!
Thank you !!!
One quiet afternoon in 2065 you may hear this song looking out to sea, and discover that the end of the life we knew has come.
Oh hell, I'll still be alive then... Thanks for the cheery, but likely true, message hahah
Probably more somewhere around 2030
Im a simple guy. I see Steven Wilson, I click like.
I remember seeing this in 2000 when you played The Scala, I think it was the debut show for a lot of songs from Lightbulb Sun. Blew my mind, crazy to think that was 21 years ago.
i want to like this comment but its at 21 likes and changing that would be a sin
It was yesterday. Or the day before. All of Steven's music is as fresh today as it was the day it was released.
Lightbulb sun is a fucking masterpiece
@@adrian5b It truly is. It remains, after all of this time, one of my favorite records.
@@_MrPink_ Lightbulb, Signify, and Recordings
This is my favorite song. Of anyone. Ever. Since I was twenty. And hearing this for the first time right now, I’m a mess. Shaking. My heart is beating out of my chest. Wait. Wait. Play it again. Oh my god, that part. I never heard it like this. I can’t speak. I need to talk to someone. I need to share this, dammit no one is gonna understand this. Does anyone understand this?! My heart….
Not grown up but not kid, thats exactly where i am!
I could watch and listen to your beautiful talent ALL day EVERY day sir. I sure do MISS Porcupine Tree though sir
I am here to watch the synthesizers. Wow.
This track... this one. So long ago, I was in a really complicated relationship, and I had taken a walkabout because of it. I was literally in the middle of nowhere when this track came up, and it struck me like lightning. I will never forget that moment. To hear it again now, reinterpreted by Steven again...takes me back to then, and makes me acknowledge now. This is awesome. Thanks for this, Steven.
Similar experience with a SW song. On a walk and everything and "To the Bone" hit me like a brick wall. I love that his music can have that effect on people. He's the GOAT
Monday saved!
Wilson + Gildenlöw?
Yup !
I am speechless. One of my favourite PT songs. Great timing too, the canceled tour was a big downer.
Lightbulb Sun and Stupid Dream have always been by favorite PT albums. This song hits me with so much nostalgia
This song is epic. I love the nearfest 2001 version, but this is also wonderful!
Glad to see that the worker is back at the Nostalgia Factory.
Thanks Steven!!!
I discovered SW about a year ago.Dont ask where ive been but behide the times.Anyway,i indulged in all his works and i have built his whole catalog on vinly and cds.SW if you by any chance read this comment u my friend are a speical breed.Thank you for filling my ears with joy.Peace!
Hope someone remembers to play this before earth becomes unhabitable
There's a new documentary coming out about Heaven's Gate, but I haven't seen it yet. Was wondering if they'd use bits of this song.
Algorithm recommended this one at this time... Couldn't be more relevant and anxiety inducing. Fantastic music as usual Steven, thank you.
I love this song so much but I think that Colin's fretless bass sounded better than the new added electronics.
@@ln2435 Yes, but sadly I feel the atmosphere of the track that I loved so much on Lightbulb Sun is lost.
Good rendition . It just needed the awesome guitar solo as icing on the cake. The Nearfest 2001 rendition of this track is still the best, You can dream and drowse while i look down your blouse
100% that solo is killer!
This song is so beautiful i love it
As is your profile pic 🙏🏻👍🙏🏻
Light bulb sun profile pic says it all.
I think this is the song I have played the most on an acoustic guitar, ever. I play my own version of it so often, that sometimes I forget I didn't write it... bugger!
Miss PT so very much but good to see Steven finally alluding to the briliance that has gone before . More please and preferably with the entire crew. Finally, wouldn't an official release of the 2001 Nearfest double be amazing and rediculously overdue.
Very good. Two parts: One intimate, personal, confessional and the other historical, global, dramatic, with that deep voice of Marshall Herff Applewhite, founder of the Heaven's Gate sect, who led the famous collective suicide in 1997. I liked it a lot.
I always believed this was inspired by the Heavens Gate cult.
It's a brilliant song.
Gee, what gave it away?
Can’t remember where I’ve heard this song. Steven you’re a musical genius.
Steven, hi. Thank you so much for this. 3 hours ago, I had to finally come to the terms with the fact that a relationship that I've been trying to /recycle/ since last March, will never work out. I cried and I prayed. I just came back to my computer, and I found this video. The same song I listened to when I initially moved out from him in July, and fled across the countries to my childhood home in Poland. I remember sitting barefoot outside that late summer night, with clear skies and moisture on the grass. I remember the feeling of leaving something very painful behind, with hope taking its place. It wasn't really over back then. But the song is different now, and I'm stronger, too. No need to smoke cigarettes or fall in love with someone new, no /integral part missing/, I feel complete. However cliche, I'm having 'a full circle' moment here right now haha, and thought I'd (over)share. Love to you all x
Best wishes Kasia.
@@willrichardson519 thank you Will, best wishes! :)
"After all the time I spent with you
Summer went away
And we just weren't the same"
something similar happened to me... best regards! Saludos desde Centroamérica.
@@roosterhnSaludos!:)

I keep coming back to listen and watch you play this song. I never get tired of it, I love it. I also share it with everyone who I talk to about music.
The Mellotron part: Ethereal, spacey, from the late 60's as is the instrument itself. I was kid back then, playing on the floor of my parents living room. But already picking up vibes from the music of the era, vibes from the Vietnam war, vibes from the (unobtainable) Jet Set crowd, miniskirts, Polaroid Swinger cameras, Yellowbird flights on wisperjets to Florida, Pot, lava lamps, psychedelics, bell bottom jeans, black lights, Woodstock.
Happy to hear this live for the first time in 2022, Boston.
Saw them in Philly. It's the only place they played Half Light instead of this. Wish I'd seen this instead. Glad at least this version exists!
What a great arrange of that second part, sounds both nostalgic and modern. Fantastic.
This was the first Porcupine Tree song I ever listened to. Shortly before they became my favourite band. Love this version!
Dear Steven, please keep doing those fantastic songs from PT.
Please, please, please. May be Allways Never, A Smart Kid, Stars Die...
Simply... great. I follow S.W since his works with.. Bass comunion., After..: P. T, Blackfield, No Man...etc.. Of course I am a King Crimson/Robert Fripp follower. Greetings from Barcelona
I love watching Steven in the studio, just him jamming out great tunes. He makes it look so organic and natural to play such fantastic music. This is better than any music video because it seems like a personal performance for a fly on the wall, just Steven doing what Steven does and we get a view into his world.
This version is astoundingly eerie and poetic at the same time.
Love it...
Is it out of sync or is my phone messed up?
My moment of solace since a decade. Long live SW !!!
The planet will be recycled when the new kingdom comes.
Bolivia presente 🇧🇴🤘🏼
Great tune! Love watching the recording process, even if it's mimed. One thing I did notice, and Stevens love of the band Madness comes out. The verse melody is Our House by Madness
I've been loving the variety of genre!
Really hoping he compiles these into an album, and hopefully a nice vinyl pressing too!
The first time I heard this song, 10 years ago, I was on a bus, traveling at night, I was almost falling asleep with this song.... And then, with one foot in the realm of dreams, I hear the speech about the planet earth coming to the end. I was really terrified because I thought that was on m head!!! Then I woke up and I listened the song again with great relief. Then I searched the lyrics and I was terrified again with the history behind the speech.... What a beautiful song. I love it. Thanks for bringing it again Mr. Wilson!
That song led me to you a long time ago... I found it fascinating then. I still do actually, one of the best I've heard and one of my favourites ever.
Yes mr Wilson! LOve PT tunes (solo musics too;) appreciate U embracing the acid electro vibez here! also dig the mic'd up L/R acoustic gtrs. Keep 'em coming! Aloha.
Porcupine tree live at Tenax, Firenze 2001...sweet memories!
Steven Wilson...lots of love to you!!!
One of my favorites! Pleasantly surprised since it's not one of the most popular songs
I love this song! Great addition of electronics on the 2nd half!
No joke I think I prefer this version because of that
Steven's content and himself never age
This dude does some great PT covers. We should all follow to see his musical journey.
Unbelievable just awesome! - 3 words that some up this man!
Cette version teintée d'electro est à tomber. Le titre original est magistral. Merci Steven pour cette relecture.
Hope all these tracks end up in an official album release
Oh they will, count on that
Mr Wilson sure loves plastering his face over everything he does, god bless him.
Awesome take on an already awesome tune. Well done. By the way, that sound bite from the guy talking is murderous. He's talking about moving into an "evolutionary kingdom" but all it represents is the denial of one's own humanity. It manifested in its completeness when they all killed themselves.
The soundscape in this is hypnotic
Lightbulb Sun, Great Album, nostalgic song ❤
Wow! This is the Steven Wilson I love!! what a fresh take on a great classic.
One of my all time favourite songs. ❤️❤️
hell yeah
Same !
Word brother!
Last time a muso evolved past his time was when FZ was around. Great work SW, what an honor to follow your work!
Check out Cardiacs...Tim Smith is the biggest genius of them all. And I'm a huge FZ fan too.
@@fcamiola Thanks. Had a quick listen to some of his tunes. Which albums would you recommend to start with?
Thank you for revisiting these classics.
This video should have 20 million views!!!! Let´s go Viral!!!
thank you for reviving this beautiful song. So good to hear SW on the acoustic 6-string and all
Love this album this song is of, the 5.1 mix is amazing.
Shesmovedon is also another one. Thanks Mr Wilson, new album is great as well.
Best musician of all time don't @ me
Love these tfb sessions with older songs. It’s amazing how Steven vocals got better (specially recently)
Those harmonies are superb
Brilliant! I miss this era of PT/SW!
I have tears as I listen to this.
This video came out on my birthday. Thanks Steven like I wasn't depressed enough.
Steven has been LOVING that arpeggiator of late
Ah ! the electronic part is just out of the world!

No matter what race or religion you may be, you will never escape God
This is honestly one of my favorite tracks, thank you for bringing it back Steven!
Thank you so much Steven . I love your style , composure , depth and sheer skill . I'm now 71 and after being born with multiple chronic ill-health issues , I am now getting intense physical and emotional pain . However , I've always loved and appreciated good , honest music , largely around prog , and you sir have and still are bring so much soothing vibes to this old ex(?)hippie . Thank you . I've just subbed . Thank you for letting us into a part of extraordinary life . Stay safe . Love and peace . Pete .✌🤓🤗
Dark Matter acoustic version would be great.
I absolutely LOVE this version! So powerful and emotive.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
BELLISIMO BRANO , strizza l'occhio agli anni 80 , 90 fantastico , bravo Steven.
Più lo riascolto, più mi piace.
The more I listen to it, the I like it

Omfg !!! One of my favorite songs ever recorded . Omg
One of my favorite PT songs and he just made it better😀😀😀 I hope SW does something with all these remakes.
Ah classic Porcupine Tree. My go to for cramming for tests in college.
The new synth is so ominous!
probably my favorite PT song
oh boy year 2000, this song brings me back precious memories. Favorite Pine song
Man I love this music.
This is the best track Ive heard all year.. Brilliant! what a beat!
If you fall asleep with me
We could dream and drowse
While I look down your blouse
Steven used to play with the lyrics in early live performances:-)
I love the mix of the M4000 (the new version of Mellotron 400 from the 70's) , the prophet 6 (prophet 5 and 10...those late 70's -early 80's synths) and the Arturia drum machines and keys.
