- The fifth in The Future Bites sessions series is my current single 12 THINGS I FORGOT. For this one I invited my buddy Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet and A Saucerful of Secrets over to do a fantastic and soulful job on the harmony vocals, thanks Gary! Look out for some more guests on future session tracks.

Oh man this song captures a very specific emotion. goddamn. If you are reading this, I wish you well in life my friend. God bless!
Please do mellotron scratch next
Ohhhhh yessssssss
Agree, would love to hear that one!
Oooooooooh yeah!
oh my yess YESS
or Buying New Soul, that would be awesome
I do hope to see all these “sessions” in a collection someday.
You misspelt “Deluxe Edition Box Set in Obsolete medium”

I thought about the same thing. It would be nice of Steven to release these versions some day or make them available on Spotify.
Perhaps this will be setlist on concert
Steven Wilson, if you read this... I, as a musician, songwriter and artist, totally appreciate what you have created over the years. I also absolutely LOVE the loriginal album version of this song. Beautiful work. P.S. .. I have purchased multiple copies of all your work for family and friends, my kids, etc, because you deserve acclamation both artistically and monetary, for the amount of work you put into everything,, plus the message and amount of inspiration you bring to others.. They all come from musical backgrounds and love what you do. Thank you for many years of, and hopefully many more to come, of great, timeless music, man... Cheers.
I feel the same way as you
I won't say 'do this song' or 'do that song', but do continue please, I'm really digging these sessions :)
I'll just say "do all the songs", does that count? ;-) this pandemic feels much shorter when I can still hear "live" music (even if it's not really live).
Ask Kate Bush if she'd be a guest on one of these unplugged style recordings. Her and "Routine" would be magical, just think of her haunting voice on the chorister interlude.
I think he once said in one interview that he tried to contact her but she didn't response him.
@@pepamitas1 We should start a petition. Or a flashmob in front of her house ;)
Hasn't Kate abandoned herself on her island since her last short tour a few years ago? I think someone might wanna check up on her, she might be lying dead for months already! :(
@@DJKnol1977 I knew she was a bit of a hermit but first I heard she has an island somewhere.
Good idea!
Steven and Gary. What a team.
Yeah this was really weird... my mother loves Steven Wilson (she's a very very accomplished musician too) so I played her this song.... immediately she points and says "oh my gosh thats my good old friend Gary".... weird!
I'd love to see him do "Happiness III" for one of these sessions! Besides tracks from TFB, he's been pulling some lesser known stuff that I've always felt got left behind from on-stage performances. Really great renditions so far, Steven!
I so wish he'd do Happiness III live on tour with a full band as well
Second that. Happiness III would be great.
Play the following in these sessions please:-
1.Pure Narcotics.
2.Lazarus
3.The Joke's on you.
4.Nine cats
5.Linton Samuel Dawson. ;)
@@sebagusa yessssssssssss
Jokes on You would be really cool yea
This long silence
@@kiwi9147 YES
Okay, I said it in the last future bites session, but, can we have a version of Normal from Nil Recurring? :)
No, cos Steven can’t play the guitar part...
@Christiano Renno YES, wouldn't "NORMAL" be an excellent rendition? I'd love to hear what he and the other guys in his band would do with it.
Yes! Normal, is my fav PT! Would love to hear what more SW could do with it.
@@samking7902 ???? Steven is one of the best guitarists of the 20th and 21st centuries!
@@domrt6846 listen to the 'we lost the skyline' live performance of this song. You'll understand!
Also, he did an interview at one point talking about how challenging that part was to learn - apparently Robert fripp helped him with it!
EDIT: he actually talked about that in the performance, not in an interview.
¿Usted es consciente que está en el exclusivo podio de los mejores verdad? No me cansaré de agradecerle por su música Mr. Steven; y de paso aprovecho para felicitarlo por tremenda colaboración. ¡Que voces!
Muchas gracias maestro. 💫🍷
Maybe his best pop song ever!
@Sebastian Paul I wouldn't even call it a "Pop" song, in the same way I wouldn't call "Lazarus". These songs are simply timeless, beautiful pieces of music. Enough said.
I agree Sebastian!
Its not even a good song.
@@paulcollins5586 in your opinion of course
@@paulcollins5586 don't you feel a little isolated?
If you don't like what are you doing in this discussion ???
Go listen to what you like and leave the connoisseurs between them :)
Great song! I never get tired of your music.
You need John Wesley to do some harmonies on the next session ❤
yes, please!!!
I would love to do harmonies on the next session. Or the one after. Or after that one, or the next. Steven and I sound quite similar in timbre. GRAVITY EYELIDS would make a great stripped-down version here, yeah?
That's just what I thought, John Wesley is magical on the harmony vocals.
He's the fifth Beatle for this band, YES PLEASE!
Omg, please 😭
This song is a true masterpiece and it takes me back to the days that I was lost
Beautiful
I think I like this version more than the original.
You should release all these sessions at the end! It would be great to have them in vinyl!
I'd prefer a Blu ray format, so we can also watch Steven perform the songs in his studio. It's such a treat!!
what end? This isn't ending! (ever, plz)
Why not both?
These session videos illustrate the uniqueness of Steven as an extremely prolific music composer/arranger in addition to being an expert musician/performer. In Steven's long career with his various solo and group efforts, there really are no bad tracks, and that can not be said often.
This song is a masterpiece of composition and is just fine songwriting. Lyrically it is poetic, relatable, and draws one to find parallels in one's own life to the storyline.
Musically, is it very engaging, layered, and is simply a good "pop" tunes in the pop spirit of the Beatles.
I suppose as one gets up in years, you want to produce new content that is important. I think this song is important, and I am left after listening to it, only wanting more, such as an extended version with a musical passage before the final chorus repeats.
Good work Steven, no plans to go into curation mode yet?
I disagree I Hate Personal Shopper but that’s just my opinion of course.
I have been a Fan of No-Man and Porcupine Tree since 1999 and Love nearly everything he has done just not the 17 minutes of Sub Love You To Death.
Bob Oneil I could not agree more.
I'm just glad to be alive to be able to enjoy all of his beautiful music.
@@jeremythornton433 i couldn't agree more... I've somehow managed to purchase, even a few second-hand, his entire back Catalogue. The best thing I saw, TWO nights in a row, when Porcupine Tree visited Australia. In a 750-seat theatre, they played "THE INCIDENT" start to end, no breaks, then had 15 minute break and did another 2 +1/2 hrs of others. Amazing.
Hi Bob, I understand EVERYTHING you wrote... do you ever hear something and think to yourself... "wow, listen to all these technical changes here, mixing techniques there, and end up with so much to say but just can't help finely detailing it? Just wanted to say I have that problem big time. I've actually had to TRAIN myself to listen to things, of course taking note of absolutely every detail by each millisecond, then rewind my brain and actually play it again from start to finish without actually playing it. I've spent YEARS attempting to stop it, because once you pretty much know all there is to know about what you're hearing simply from so many decades of experience. For some reason, Porcupine Tree's music and Steven Wilson's music are the only two I've EVER encountered where I havent over-analyzed like that, and I didn't even realize until I read what you wrote. I think it has to do with how perfectly balanced he is, as was Porcupine Tree. Just wondering if you've ever experienced that before, as I know a bunch of well known musicians who actually have PROBLEMS WITH SLEEP because of it.
True gold.
Great to see Gary. Would love to hear Steven do his remix magic on some of Spandau's old albums.
I totally agree!!!! 🙌
Beautiful surprise!
Cant wait!! Come back to Chile!!
Lovely progression
Wow you guys are here!
Yes. the whole thing is gorgeous. I love the album recording, but this Half-Time, sparse, beautifully performed live version is another beast altogether.
U guys are awesome 👌
Game recognizes game.
He’s the most talented at that
Chills with backing vocals.
I love this song so much
Man, I have to say, you're one the best composers nowadays. Thanks for your incredible work. Cheers!
Love those harmonies ❤️
YES. harmonies between these two are generally FLAWLESS but also so SOULFUL
So fantastic song. I love the chord Progression and the sound of the piano.
Loved it so much! Hello from Italy!❤❤❤
The "lost" Porcupine Tree song! Those synths are SO Richard Barbieri. Yeah!
If you loved Porcupine Tree, you probably would find this King ghost version beautiful.

Guitar solos gives a fitting end.
Thank you Steven.
Dang....Steven never disappoints me. These sessions are such a great way to keep us ALL connected during these messed up times. Really great stuff!
Goosebumps ..This is just beautiful ... it’s even better than the released version ❣️❣️
The album itself might be short but he is making up for it with all of these goodies
These sessions are so well done ... as everything he does ..
Please keep the magic coming .. it’s the only thing helping the concert withdrawal 😎
A Smart Kid ,Small Fish or Black Dahlia
would be amazing😉
My favourite song at the minute ♥️
Lazarus acoustic version would be great.

A zither!!! Outstanding!!
Wow. Gary Kemp's singing is wonderful!
thumbs up, these sessions are great .. one day we hope get to see you in concert again !
Most Excellent.
Hope to see you next year in concert! :O)
Just absolutely glorious
Seeing Steven play and hearing this makes of think of the rare ‘happy’ PT song called ‘Piano Lessons’.
Just beautiful! Can't wait for the album, but I love these sessions. Please don't stop. The lockdown is so much more tolerable with a new session to look forward to. Love ya man!
"What I said to you, Is crossing the line and you'll never begin to forget"
I hope.
Hope you do a full CD/album release of all these recordings. With a DVD would be cool too. Loving them so far. Cheers Steven! 🙂
I love this song enough to play it on repeat for years to come *_*
Videos like this one make me more motivated to lock myself in the studio and write the songs I used to write before opening a protools session with no ideas in my mind. Sounds odd. But it makes sense to me.
When I'm listening to a Steven Wilson song and someone asks me who's playing, I say: "God".
HAHA same. and I'm not even RELIGIOUS.
@George Planter haha how can you tell I'm not religious?
@George Planter Hey George, I was only making a stupid joke that meant nothing. I didn't understand your first response in the first place, but if you could explain it, I would definitely appreciate it. By the way, I am Autistic, so there are some things I just don't understand. Does that make sense?
@George Planter "12 things I forgot to tell you". Im autistic. Im severely disabled physically. My father Larry Muhoberac who died a few years ago was one of the greatest pianists and orchestrators. He was one of the greatest arrangers. My mother, Andra Willis (muhoberac) is still, is one of the greatest singers on earth. My older brother Jamie Muhoberac is one of the genius musicians on this planet. I never brag, only state facts. Im a totally selfless person. Now for 9, 10, 11 and 12, well, just look me up on Wikipedia. I didn't create that page, but it covers the rest. Thanks for your patience. Oh, and no.13, I love Steven Wilson's music, and Tool. And Eva Cassidy.
@George Planter im sorry I was born with Autism.. not really my fault though. And if that is God's will, then why? And if youre so Christian, why can't you just FORGIVE ME?
These TFB sessions are getting me through the hardest time the of the semester. Thank you so much for this, Steven.
Amazing :)
This is a simple arrangement with so few instruments, but it sounds rich and lovely.
Out of this world.
Oh you...bastard! You did it again! And this version is even better!
Amazing backing vocals by Gary Kemp.
Probably the best song off the new album!
Wow, that's beautiful. Great track and excellent performance👍
Beutiful version Steven... You're Amazing! Thank you❤️
I'm not in the habit of spreading myself on social networks, but I find you really very generous with your audience and this sincerity there, this relationship there to those who appreciate you for your music see you as you are: a great musician and a great person. Which is worth a thousand times more than any magazine cover or alleged trophy. I wanted to tell you that, so please don't change anything.
I so love the line "making out things were best in the eighties" . It's so telling for my generation.
I just cannot love this enough.
Beautiful Show !!!
Best one yet
Steven Wilson is my Beatles moment of 2021
Greetings from Freaklândia. Brazil-São Paulo.
Passionate about his music! Perfect lyrics and arrangements! 👏👏👏🙇♀️

My personal favorite song of 2020. Exactly this version. Love it!
The music by itself is great. But the layering and mixing take it to a supernatural level.
I prefer this version!
Thank you Steven and Gary. These sessions are beautiful 🙏💖
Above and beyond again. Thanks.
There's the man who changed my life in ways even I couldn't contemplate.

...Masterpiece !...
How beautiful is that! 🥲
B-E-A............utiful
This song calms me down on my way back home from work.

Beautiful Mr.Wilson!!!!

This was the one should be in the studio album. This is the steven I love 🖤.
02:01 Like the little change in the lyrics.
This is my favourite track thus far on TFB. This version is awesome!
Whoever gave this a thumbs down must be out of their mind.
Just BRUTALISM
I'd love to hear Piano Lessons!
Thank you for writing a great song. Thank you for working on Earth.
Stunning
I love you and I love this song
Simply the best music sessions . MOOOORRR!!!
Fantastic version of a great song. Love it.
Sweet!
Love from assam ❤
Great song!
I’m loving these session vids!! Music for my soul. ✌🏼
this room 😍😍
Swooning over the harmonies. The best track on the album...a track that sits alone from the rest.
I am sure all this sessions could be included in a new bonus album of TFB edition. Of course this is a wonderful version of 12 things... More natural and organic. Bravo!
Beste Musiker aller Zeiten!
Wonderful, as always.
Gracias Steven!! 😍😍😍
