I don't understand how one singer has held my heart for fifteen years and never once disappointed me, but I'll take it.
J. Sami Harvey I second that. amen , haleluja 🔥🙏🔥X
Same
Sami Harvey i feel the exact same.
Same
So much yes.
Thanks. You got me off of six years of medically prescribed pure heroin and fentanyl. So many tears and spinning smiling moments of mania to your music. Thanks for my life.
This guy is a total genius !
And again, I feel grateful for being alive.
Conor is my way of getting through the day, and i used to be a dope addict. Now just addicted to anything bright eyes/conor
same man
Same. All of that.
hey buddy i hope in the three years since, youve become a less mean person @@fancychannelname
Same, but a current addict. Thankfully songs like this inspire me to stop - Songs like this remind me that there are hundreds of (other) ways to help me get through the day besides dope
Hey. There’ll always be music. Things are going to fall apart. We’ve all been living a dream. Time to wake. I personally won’t listen to the alarms. What a time though, if you’re alive and reading this then you lived the golden age.
I'm listening to this one again.
So much love for this song. And you're releasing your new album on my 23rd birthday :)
Thank you, Conor Oberst, for giving me one way to get through the day. :)
the power of lyrics
I didn't expect any less. I love that his "wobbly" voice is back.
Right? The Rolling Stone article described his voice as "craggy," which I think is a pretty apt descriptor.
like a baby goat
"It's getting dark bro,but I always loved the night" Nice ! A Bakersfield gig would be right on time.
New Conor Oberst yeah!!
i forgot my place, but im back now with a smile on my face. get me out of this net i cant see through all the scales. Great song. Conors the dopest
Another masterpiece. A true artist.
Let the beauty we love be what we do, there are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground. -Rumi
Love this.
I'm just listening to this and crying. Thanks Conor!
Westbury and Central Park hello Conor i've waited 10 years to be able to watch you perform THIS IS MY YEAR.
Great new tunes! I hope you extend your tour and come to Austin.
What a thing to be a witness to the sunshine
What a dream to just be walking on the ground
What a time to live among the ashen remnants of our love
It came before and I'm still looking for that now
It took centuries to build these twisted cities
It took seconds to reduce them down to dust
And all the tour guide could say was
"Take your pictures folks it's late, try your best please to remember what was done."
Don't look so forlorn
Don't you look so scared
Don't get so upset
This world was never fair
But there are hundreds of ways
To get through the days
There are hundreds of ways
Now you just find one
I used to think that time was of the essence
Now I just wish I could get some sleep
All this strange parade of sounds the city makes when I lay down
Little explosions that set fire to my dreams
Sometimes I get mistaken for this actor
And I guess that I can see it from the side
Maybe no one really seems to be the person that they mean to be
I hope I am forgotten when I die
Don't contradict me
Don't make me cross the line
If you feel threatened
It's only 'cause I might
But there are hundreds of ways
To get through the days
There are hundreds of ways
To get through the day
Yes, there are hundreds of ways
So you best find one
All my hero's they're all talk
Running in circles
Some stop watch some cast
Love was the message. Full stop
We ramble on and on
We ramble on and on
I stole all the rhinestones out of Carolina
Sold them out in Bakersfield for cash
The bandshell got a band sounds like an arcade in Japan
Blew all my quarters trying to get that feeling back
Now any sucker can turn boredom into violence
A sociopath riding on a bus
His irises are black from his novelty contacts
He looks around but he can't see the rest of us
In my sunglasses don't mind the blinding light
It's getting dark but I've always loved the night
But there are hundreds of ways
To get through the day
There are hundreds of ways
To get through the day
There are hundreds of ways
To get through the day
There are hundreds of ways
To get through the day
There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of ways
To get through the day
Just find one
Thanks for the lyrics. ^_^
The KING of writing Bridges
One of very few artists who never disappoints.
I can honestly say I cried from happiness in the middle of class when I saw he posted a new song AND that he'd be performing in Milwaukee.
CONOR!!!
so happy to hear a new song from Conor Oberst, one of my favourite artists. Wish the tour included Canada, oh well!
Thank you Conor. Music is my life, and in some ways I have you to thank for that. I've listened to many, many, great lyricists since someone showed me your songs 10 years ago. But none of them has hit so close to home as yours and I can't ever explain why. Your style of imagery paints my mind almost exactly the way it is and before I know it, I don't feel alone anymore. Pure magic, and I can't thank you enough.
Welcome back, Conor. You've been missed.
Is that First Aid Kit I hear in the background?!
I love this man with every cell of my body
Nice to see you back, Mr. Oberst; long overdue. See you in Westbury.
I'm so happy to read all the people on the comments liking the new song just as much as I did! Woohoo!
Just getting better and better!
so so good to hear some new conor oberst. im putting "a collection of songs written & recorded 1995-1997" on my iphone at this very second.
greatness!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't get enough of this song, Can't wait for the album.
Every time I hear it i just get the biggest grin on my face
I seriously cannot stop listening to this.. He is such a lyrical genius. Patiently waiting for his tour dates in Ca..
man..this album is sterling. Love you conor, you dont know how much you've helped me.
Thank You.
I'm so happy to see him live in Milwaukee and to hear new music. It sounds incredible.
I dont know how he does it but Conor never disappoints with his music
This is the song I listen to each morning on my way to school, it gives me motivation and makes me happy. Love it!
takes me back 9 years ago when i seen him live performing "im wide awake its morning" most chill, but amazing concert ive ever been too>!!
Beautiful, especially with first aid kit!! Here's hoping they come to the uk
Love the song. Your music , perspective and emotional tone always make me feel better. I'm the melancholy sort so its comforting to hear someone else take on so directly the human condition and not sing your typical love song or bullshit melody. Thanks for all the great songs over the years, particularly Jejune Stars and Baby boomer more recently. Happy early Birthday!
Heather B hes got the super intense double aquarius bones. Amen.
Going to see him in Manchester in July, can't wait!!
I first heard this in the dead of winter and it really warmed my heart
Ooooh so terribly excited! Love this
I may be biased because I have always loved anything Conor touches, but this is so great!! I wanna melt this song and inject it into my bloodstream.
You can feel the Paul Simon influence
IM GOING TO GRACELAND GRACELAND MEMPHIS TENNESSEE
What a beautiful song.
Conor is the f'n man.
Another great song....
I'm happy!
How beautiful! Good to see you back.
There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of ways to get through the day, just find one. A line that helps me so often.
Best Birthday Gift!
Another Spring giving birth to Oberst flowers. This time they're held by Swedish sirens.
This sounds like a return to form for Conor Oberst. I didn't buy people's key or outer south but this one sounds like a winner. Can't wait till may.
What a couple of albums you've missed mate. Take that back, lock yourself in a room and listen to them.....religiously...or well, til May.
I bought The People's Key the moment it was released, though I did skip Outer South, too. However, I gave it another shot last year; it's got some good songs.
Conor Oberst, just an amazing musician, song writer, flat out Epic!!
Just got the symbolism of visiting the museum of the post-nuclear apocalypse: I think it represents whatever illness/trauma/bad relationship you are on the other side of.
The tour guide (friend/therapist) hurries you along but reminds you to remember what was lost, meaning don't dwell on the past any more than your need to to learn from it.
The message moving forward: "There are 100's of ways to get through the days. Just find one." I'll take it
i have a feeling that the album is going to be on my top ten album of 2014
Bakersfield, CA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D And love the new song
I love this so much. Glad he's back
So good. See you in Chicago.
Exciting!
Love the album, especially this song: great (African sounding?) lead guitar lines, and perfect backing vocals from Klara and Johanna Soderberg of First Aid Kit.
Yes, just like the old stuff - vulnerable, precise and dark - but with Van Morrison style horns. Lovely
I've listened to him for the last 13 years and all of his various projects and have a great love for his work. I'm just glad this ridiculous lawsuit hasn't stopped Conor from wanting to record. False accusations not only destroy the lives of the accused but also do major damage to the system trying to protect real victims.... oh yeah great song, I got carried away...
@2:56 he mentions Bakersfield- my brother and his family live there!!
Cool perspective and leaves so much anticipation
YES!
this freakin voice; so sensitive to it in the best of ways.
aww yeah
A new song.
Just found out about the new album and upcoming tour, just in time thank god! Love Conor ^^
yay
ah hes back again! just what I needed today! Thanks for the uplift yet again...and again...and again you brilliant man! Cannot wait to hear the rest of the new album!
gotta love the horns too!
Never disappoints. Such crazy talent!
YES
Yaaay! So excited for the new CD!! Thank you, Conor.
Fine tunes as per usual...Thanks Conor !!
New song on my birthday!

Cheeriest song I've heard by Conor.

im so happy about this
I need new music! Love all your songs ❤️
"Angels are dealers of structure. Demons demolish what the winged ones need gone. They always work together and get along.",dan'
Great tune Conor! And brilliant lyrics as usual...can't wait for the album
Solid work... Really love the slide and horns all together. As always, well written Conor!
Love it! He's like a 21st-century Bob Dylan.
+Sandy Salmansohn He would be stoked to hear you say that
He's like a 21st century Conor Oberst.
Bob Dylan wished!
Idk..He's like the lead singer/songwriter of bright eyes
I say that as well... a voice of a generation... a true poet.
Love this!
Thanks, keep them coming!
We'll be ok
Finally!! I was afraid he was done after "People's Key". I'm assuming that was the end of Bright Eyes as he stated before but I'm glad he is continuing solo because I have missed him so much. Love this song!! Now I can't wait for the new album, seems like there's some "wobble" in his voice again, love it love it love it :) Listening now for the 5th time haha
love it
I love this. ♥
day = made
