This video came about because I was looking at my editing program and realized I never released my video of "worst blind buys of 2022". As you will see, I added a few to the end that were failed 2023 blind buys so it is kind of separated in two parts.
I really appreciate you advocating for not blind-buying! My collection is substantial (for someone who isn’t an influencer) & nowadays I’m finding the idea of adding anything else makes me feel a growing sense of anxiety due to overwhelm. In listening to that feeling, I’ve unsubscribed to many influencers who tout everything new as ‘Stunning!’, ‘Must have!’, ‘Absolutely full bottle worthy!’ etc. …It’s taken me a while to learn about my impulsive behavior and to practice control but I’m getting better & wiser, resulting in a lot less purchasing while embracing an intent to purchase samples/travel sizes only.
Good for you for not doing it! I try to repeat that phrase “please don’t blind buy anything” each video and it never fails….never….that either here or on IG someone told me they were disappointed in a perfume they blind bought because I talked about it. 🤦♀️😉 plus we all know someone’s treasure is another person’s stinker. 🤣
@@roni-yah9342 Agree 100%. People can have WAY more fun by spending a hundred bucks at a time whenever they can afford it and in return get a lovely package filled with samples to play with. Then they can head over to Fragrantica to educate themselves, read reviews, and comparison fragrances, check silage and longevity on your own skin, learn about notes, perfumers, fragrance history, chemistry etc. I've got these beautiful antique boxes filled with samples: you get some foam from a craft store and cut slit-like holes for the fragrance sample bases to sit securely in. Great fun to go to a flea market or antiques store for fragrance sample boxes that suit your room's particular aesthetic. I've literally sampled THOUSANDS of fragrances and own hundreds-- but I only have 50 full bottles, collected over time. That's more than enough for me at any one time. I cannot understand why fragrance addicts MUST buy full bottles or even worse, blind buy full bottles when ordering 30 samples at a time is just so much more of a thrill. Sometimes I don't remember what I ordered, even better! Decants: the way to go!
I am in the exact place as you are, except I am not even buying samples right now as I am on a strict budget because I want to keep living in my condo. A few months ago I was asked to retire by the company that I worked for for 37 years and now I have to watch every Penny I spend. I do have an extremely large collection of perfumes due ton the fact that I started my perfume collection long before there was even an internet. Thus, I am now just enjoying my own collection and not buying nor even sampling anything as I don’t want to be tempted into buying something.
Good for you Phyllis!!!! We need to shop our stash more!! I love shopping my huge stash. And I would do the same if I didn’t have a platform here or on IG.
I'm trying to let the blind buying be a thing of the past. I'm very successful when the perfume is over a certain price point. Less successful when the perfumes are pretty cheap - I go what the hell, and buy it.
Hi Chris!! Oh I love hearing about people's disappointments and cautionary tales just as much as their triumphs and highest recommendations. Funny, articulate, creative story tellers could never offend me no matter how blunt they are as long as they're articulate, emotionally intelligent, informed, honest and above all-- FUNNY. Anyhow, I quietly exited the 'frag comm' side of UA-cam a year of so ago so I haven't checked in on you and your audience for a long while. I used to comment on fragrance videos so often! As soon as the pandemic restrictions lifted and the aviation and tourism sector started to get back to normal I started saving money for another trip to Japan. There went my jolly ol' monthly shopping sprees for high end niche fragrances. I've been disciplined in saving, avoiding all temptation, as flights and accommodation in Japan has skyrocketed in price since my last trip there in 2019 before the pandemic kicked in. Coming to your channel would leave me whimpering, knowing I won't be able to buy anything at all. The good news is I've budgeted for many obscure high end Japanese fragrances so will be able to return and share my 'greatest hits' with everybody. Ha! You looked gorrrrrrrgeous is this video. I'm glad you're doing well. PS= I fell off the wagon last month and bought a bottle of Sospiro's discontinued 'Duetto' because it's the perfect 'rose-oud-spicy-woody-floral-chypre' and there is no dupe on planet Earth for this masterpiece. Whyyyyyy do they discontinue all the things I love?!
Aaaah - the blind buy! I can't resist it, because sometimes a great deal will come along before I've had a chance to sample it, but more often than not it's a disappointment. I never learn my lesson, though, and continue to do it over and over! Elie Saab is the perfect case in point. I've purchased 2 as blind buys due to youtube recommendations, and it's just not a line that works for me. Like you said, I can't get past the green almond note in L'Eau Couture, and the other one I bought (Le Parfum, I think?) is just heavy without being interesting. I'm so grateful for your honesty - it helps us all save our money for fragrances we will like!
Mont Blanc Signature is my worst blind buy so far this year. I blind bought it because it’s not very expensive. I enjoy musky perfumes but that one to my nose is so sharp and screechy it went right to my head and actually made me nauseous. Just can’t do that one. Unfortunately I dislike it so much I couldn’t even use it as an air freshener. Into the trash it went. 🤢
Same. Someone said it smelled like lemon meringue pie so I jumped on it a few years ago. It doesn’t REMOTELY smell like lemon meringue pie. It was a no for me also. 😂
Hey Chris. Your honesty about the ones that didn't work is so refreshing among a sea of content creators who are less forthcoming. I have wasted so much money on blind buys and I just refuse to keep doing that (unless I can get the fragrance at a bargain price).
I will never understand why people get so offended by others not liking a fragrance they like. Wear what makes you happy!! I love that people have different taste and can hear how they interrupt a perfume from their point of view
I can’t think of any unsuccessful blind buys. I don’t really buy full bottles without loving them. I don’t count travel sprays. I guess the one I regret is Cloud because I don’t think it’s anywhere near as beautiful as BR540. But I still use it and it was pretty cheap, but I won’t repurchase. In Canada, add another 100$ at least to any bottle you buy in the USA - and it makes you very careful about what you buy on the high end side.
Hi Chris, 😊 I enjoyed hearing you talk about your blind buy mistakes and reading the comments people had about their own disappointments. It can really help with knowing why something didn't work out as much as when something does work. I am happy you shared your experience with Phantasma because tea fragrances are often tempting and one would presume low risk. Burnt tea going soapy musk isn't one for me. You look gorgeous in your video as always. Have a good day! 💛🌺
Hello Chris 🌹Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these fragrances. Some I was curious about and now I’m no longer interested. My blind buys stopped awhile ago when I was getting ready for full time travel and instead I was giving away or selling my perfumes. I must admit I enjoy sniffing fragrances in the stores so much more now that the gamble of blind buying is over for me. 😅
I’m really trying to stop blind buying too. I’m guilty of buying something because it’s on sale or a good deal. For example, I just bought Byredo Slow dance for $150 and I hated it! I’ll hum and haw about a perfume that is regularly priced for the same amount, even if I’ve sampled and liked it (Good girl blush). I feel FOMO and don’t want to miss out on a bargain!
Yes! Someone else that hates opulent musk 😂 what a mess that fragrance is. It's so robotic. Yeah I also decluttered sheikh Al shuyukh luxe edition. Screechy!!! Those two have totally sworn me off lattafa fragrances... They've put me off trying more.
Yikes! Hi Claire 😊 I'm curious about sniffing fragrances in UAE...I hear so many great reviews about middle eastern perfumes and especially their dupe houses. There are so many now, I can't keep up! 😂
LOL....Show me Shampoo! This was a fun video...Hey, you aren't really a fraghead if you don't buy at least 20 perfumes a year and end up decluttering half of them! xoxo
I haven’t had no fails so far this year… but my worst blind buy so far has been Cafe cabanel. I just couldn’t… unfortunately here in Miami that fragrance is impossible to wear. The hot weather didn’t allow it to develop properly as I want it to so I just couldn’t. I’m sure it is a love in the cold weather but that does not happen here. I had to give it up and sold it.💔 Chris I adore your channel is very informative to me.❤❤
Oh thank you so much for such lovely words!!! I love Cafe Cabanel but only for cold weather. I wouldn’t dream of wearing it in warm weather you are right!!
Oh, the blind buy blues, yes Chris! I'm just so darned curious that I'm often led astray, my list is long I'm afraid🤪 Great video and the lip color and outfit are stunning😊
Please do a video on best projection & sillage perfumes with NO overpowering Florals! Please. I've tried & tried to love them or even like them. I just can't & they don't like me either... migraine inducing every time. I give up. I love fruity sweet citrus more gourmand types. Tropical. I do love vanilla, amber, bergamot, & patchouli. Iris seems to be ok as a mild floral. I'm open to suggestions please.
@@ThePerfumeNest I know that's the problem...I've looked at notes of scents I've loved usually have an iris floral. I like the freesia smell. I like mimosa. Rose is a no as well as gardenia. But old favs of mine Amarige, Organza, Ysatis Givenchy have all kinds of florals I normally can't stand but it has alot of notes so something's in it to overpower the gardenia, rose etc. So I just don't know. I like sweet too. I like spice, amber. Crazy but I got more compliments with Celeb perfume With Love by Hillary Duff. People constantly stopped me to ask what it was. Now discontinued I believe the cocobolo wood used is endangered now. As reviews stated "I've never smelled a scent like it." Love Escada Rockin Rio. Tropical. I just need "new" smells to love... So many of the past I loved are discontinued. I like Oriental spice & resins too but those are much easier to find it seems. I live in very hot climate only a few cold months so those scents don't get much "wear" sadly. P.S. I just watched your most complimented scents video...that was VERY helpful. Thank you!
Really the only one I've had so far is Raised Spirits. It is really nice, but I think it just pulls too masculine on me. Luckily I got it second hand for less, and then I sold it to a friend. So, doing okay so far! Thanks Chris!
First, what a gorgeous blouse! I have been packing to move and going through my fragrances. I’ve blind bought some icky things over the last year, too. Mostly the cheapies that I got to get free shipping from our favorite Canadian perfume seller, but I did blind buy Cœur de Jardins from Miller Harris. It’s nice, but was too expensive to smell just nice. I almost bought Vanilla Milk blindly, but thank goodness I smelled it at Sephora first. I haven’t found an Ellis Brooklyn that I’ve liked yet!
Hi Chris! Fun video! I usually don’t blind buy but my birthday is this week and I found Iris Crush for an amazing price. It’s supposed to be very much like Guerlain’s French Kiss so fingers crossed…😬
Oh yeah, I haven’t had much luck with Ellis Brooklyn fragrances (besides Apres), but Vanilla Milk was probably the biggest miss, such a bummer since the inspiration looked promising!
Since I never spend over $40 on a perfume, or haven't yet, I guess it' would not sound as tragic to others as it was to me. And it's been awhile since I purchased one other than a few very inexpensive body oil dupes for designer fragrances. I've had two major fails,, one was Franck Olivier Oud Vanille because of the heavy incense note. It never settled down or allowed me to smell anything other than smoke. Gave it away to my son since he said it smelled smoky and weird, but he'd take it. The second was Wisal Dhahab, one that everyone raved on and on about, but all I get from it from start to finish is choky, heavy rose. I tried numerous times but I just can't. To me, the rose note is suffocating. Someone else obviously would love it because others have, but not this gal. I've hjad fails that people just shake their head over like Burberry Brit for Her; they can't believe I don't like it. To me, it's just lime aftershave, no sweetness or depth, very unisex leaning masculine and another one my son is getting because he wears the mens' version of it already. That was the most spent on something that I hated, about $36, but there were others, mostly freshies, with less cash outlay to begin with. They're hanging around still, hoping they may get better with time. I don't mind the Club de Nuit Intense, probably the most beast mode fragrance I've ever owned, but my husband can't stand it, the only time he commented on a fragrance I was wearing. Skin chemistry has betrayed me a few times, I must say! ~Cynthia
Oud Vanille didn't work for me either, I just didn't like it at all. Club de nuit intense was one of my favorite but I usually layered it with other rose forward fragrances, so I honestly don't know if I liked it enough on its own 😂
@@ThePerfumeNest The regular Club de Nuit is supposed to be similar to Coco Mademoiselle, but I don't know what the intense version dupes, if anything. It's nothing like the original at all, heavy on the saffron, I think maybe that was the note my husband didn't care for. According to Fragrantica the top notes are Rose, Saffron and Geranium; middle notes are Nutmeg, Pepper, Violet and Caraway; base notes are Patchouli, Vanilla, Agarwood (Oud) and Amber. All those notes, I generally love, and I do like it, but there is one prominent one that hubby and I disagree on, strongly, I might add, LOL. (by the way, many on Fragrantic say the Club de Nuit Intense reminds them of Tom Ford Noir de Noir)
@@sweetsimpleslowlife2709 It's too bad because I loved that Oud Vanille bottle. I'm glad it's not just me. I kept reading and re-reading the reviews, thinking I was missing something, but it was just a scrubber for me.
The only Elie Saab that I have liked is Le Parfum. I really like the honey note in it. The "nose" behind it is Francis Kurkdjian, so that is probably why it is a good one. Cheers.🐝
I blind bought Dirham Wardi last year and finished it within a month as it didn’t last😌😉. Her Higness will be going to a friend of mine now in June🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I’m trying to do less blind buying cos I have a lot of samples that I have to go through😱😱. However, I blind bought Panettone, Accident A La Vanille so far (both on sale), Bright Peach (very affordable) and all were absolutely successful😍😍. I try and sample as much as possible and also do sample swaps with a friend so that helps🙏🙏. Awesome video as always 👌👌. Stay gorgeous 🥰🥰
My worse blind buy was patchouli 55 and agracadabra . Omg when I smelled them it though I was gonna die from the price and I hated them. I sold $1000 that I spent and sold it for &500. These companies that cost over $400 should pay is when it’s not a like. This will ensure they will make all fragrances that are a 10.
I’ve blind bought 3 Armaf perfumes and they were scores for me. Lataffa is a mixed bag but I’ve had really good wins with their blind buys and missed on a few occasions. I really research before I blind buy them though and I don’t feel too bad because the prices are very reasonable. I definitely test all designer and niche though
Was really interested to hear your thoughts on Phantasma, Chris. I fell instantly in love with Dom Rosa last year and just ordered decants of Desert Suave, Bloody Wood and Isle Pourpre this weekend (am working my way through the brand). Have you tried their new one in the gold bottle (Liquide)? I heard another fragrance reviewer rave about it.
I LOVE Dom Rosa. Desert Suave is nice but not FB worthy for me at least now. Haven’t tried the new one. Of course I love Blanche Bete and a few others (Tapis Volant)
Cool video Chris ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ love it!!! Opulent Musk is an absolute scrubber for me, horrible to say the least. Qaa’we was another failure as well. On the other hand, Al Haramain Amber Oud Rouge and Amber Oud Gold are must-haves in my collection.
Me, too, Chris- my goal is to track down decants first, no blind buys. I just ordered a bunch of decants for some Xerjoff and Tiziana Terenzis I have been curious about. I did blind buy an inexpensive one you recommended for summer, though. BTW, I love the title of this video and it made me laugh. And you look so pretty today in the red! Love the red lip on you, as always!
I gotta smell that Ellis Milk.. sounds trully awful and I have to see how awful... lol. Good for them for going outside the box, at the same time, you should be aware of the public reaction to it. I am surprised they are surprised
I love so few perfumes even though I like so many. But I get obsessed with a select few that I love. Blind buying just doesn't make sense for me. I've been significantly slowing down my purchases.
Everyone is raving about Amouage Guidance and I would not recommend blind buying. It is very cinnamon to me and I did not like it. Also, I made mistake with Veronique Garai Tunisia one as there was a sharp green or Jasmine note that did not go away. Ellie Saab Royals is not for me and I blind bought it based on a reviewer absolutely raving about it. Generally, I think “cheap” ones are not worth it to me. Not to be a snob but the ingredients just aren’t quality and generally not smooth or do not last - I wasted a lot of money trying to “beat the system” and find good cheap ones and NONE worked out. I’d rather spend a little more and get something quality and I’ve learned that if I have a really great white floral, like Argos Femme, I don’t need 3. Same with a good fruity or freshie, I can use 1 or 2 in my lifetime not 10 closely related types so I save my money and better but less.
I also blind bought Opulent musk. I have worn it for quite a few times now, and I still have not been able to figure out whether I like it or not. It's probably going to get decluttered before it's finished, but for now, I'm still not sure.
Loved your video. I've made a few mistakes as well, mainly from perfumes of Arabia. The worst was Bint Hooran which unfortunately gave me nausea and nasty migraine. It smelt great in the box but not on me 😊
A dear friend of mine picked it up for me while she was traveling in the Middle East last year. The bottle is so cute . The scent isn’t bad on me and I don’t wear it…but it holds sentimental value.
I completely stopped blind buying, because I never have success. I forgot all about that Escada blueberry…of course I wanted to try it, but I just knew it wasn’t going to smell like blueberries….it doesn’t sound bad though by your description.
Struggling so hard with Lalique encre noir (ashtray) Lattafa Pride Awaan (suffocating menthol) and Baroque Satin Oud by Maison Alhambra. They’ve been macerating for 3 weeks, back into the closet to mature longer!
I mainly blind Buy base on where I live and I have been mainly successful. Because I don't just jump and buy a scent. I do alot of research before I do and I know the type of scents I like and notes that I like.
Hi Chris, look at it this way; you learn a lot about yourself with those fails. Of course, too bad about the money, but at least you offload them pretty quickly. I also intended to blind buy less, and also buy less in general. Up until now I bought 33, with four that were fails, and four I am still not sure about. The fails were Santal Austral (found out I can't deal with sandelwood prominent perfumes), Lait et Chocolat by Chabaud (while the opening is a gorgeous luxe chocolate milk, it turns really plastic-y and chemical in the dry-down), Rio Radiance from Sol de Janeiro, and Vanille Insensée (the coriander really messed it up for me). Then I have four from Comptoir Sud Pacifique that are just kind of meh. I was going to be much more strict about what I allow into my collection, and these four don't meet my criteria.
I am literally testing out a new blueberry perfume right now! It's Tonkazure by Pearlescent and the main notes I smell are champagne and blueberries. On paper it wasn't super impressive, but on skin it's delicious. I am def getting a FB!
So far in 2023 I had some successful blind buys but I am not going to keep pressing my luck. I blind bought PDM Valaya and MFK 724. I love both. I figured the fresh scents are safer to blind buy.
The escada blueberry still sounds good to me 😊. Teo Cabanel discovery set was samples but still a bad blind buy for me, because the set cost about the same as one of their bottles 😢
Thank you! I think it’s from a local little boutique store. I’ve been trying to buy more locally and in person (covid and online Amazon shoppers have almost made local clothing shops and stores obsolete). They have a website so I’ll try to link it if it’s still in stock. 🥰🥰😉😉❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Chris. I can't think of one for myself. I did stop blind buying for a good while. So maybe that's the reason I can't think of anything 😂. I thought Ellis Brooklyn bee was interesting. Not sure I'd reach for it though. I get what you're saying about almond. I can't do hypnotic poison, but I do like Yum. There's a fine line there for me with that note too. 💙
Good for you! If I didn’t have a YT channel or active IG account I would have stopped or slowed down further. But each year is a significant improvement from the prior year. 😂
Really? Isn’t it discontinued?? Must be hard to find. I never purchased that because I heard it smells like something I don’t want to smell like. 🤦♀️😂
@@ThePerfumeNest First moments are hard (sth like bitter orange or worse) but after 10 min it becomes wonderful. In Central Europe we can still find it but it's getting more expensive. It's compared to CK Reveal but I do not know this scent. Maybe you will find it. Mugler has refills so maybe just empty bottle or decant is an option. I love your video's and you are a great woman😉🌷
I have bought all of those Lattafas and got rid of them all. The synthetic plastic facet, the rough edges and the simplistic formula...I mean, for $20, what did I expect? lol
Hinoki in Hinoki does smell sweaty. To me like a cedar sauna, I don’t mind that part. I actually love the opening and the first 20 minutes for that delicious blast of sexy cedar. But so disappointed with how it wears. It turns into such a masculine soapy cologne. Where did the woods go?
Hi dear ❤ there are a bunch of fakes out there of girl of now and they do smell all different but still decent enough 😮 I even did a video on that in November 2022 😅
Oh I bet! I always buy from retailers because when I review it here…I want to make sure I’m reviewing the real thing. But what a great idea for a video!!😁
I also blind bought jpg la belle intense. To me it smelled like something I’d wear in my 60s at an elegant dinner. I’m about half that age so is not the one for me yet.
I feel you could replace perfume with "man i dated" it would work. Some people love him but he just didnt work for me. Too musky i did not care for him. To strong...
I am slowing down on the blind buys, too. I am still a suckered for a bargain. But it's not a bargin it I don't like it. My costly bind buy is Tiziana Terenzi Rosso Pompei. My best blind buy is Sisley Eau Du Soir. We know your worst blind buys, but what are your best blind buys?
My recent blind buy for me was-- Trussardi-Behind the Curtain, the leather note does not agree with me. I put it back in its box-not sure what to do with it. If anyone's interested in owning this fragrance, let me know.
Oh dear. Yes I love that one but definitely has leather. And I’m super picky with leather. Do you have a Mercari or eBay account? I hear perfume Facebook groups also sell and do exchanges.
My worst blind but lately is NR Musc Noir Rose. It smells very much like I remember JPG Classique smelling in the late 90’s, and let’s just say it is not a favorite. It also reminded me a little of Poison Girl which also isn’t a favorite of mine. I don’t smell musk at all just that combination of rose and vanilla that I apparently dislike intensely. Luckily, people are clamoring for it right now so onto Mercari it shall go! There’s always a silver lining, lol. Thanks for sharing these, and enjoy your day!
I almost blind bought it! But am glad I found it in a shop the week I was planning to. It is so unlike all the other NR perfumes that I love! I didnt understand! Hope you were/are able to declutter cause it is a lot of money!
Musc Noir Rose doesn’t work with my skin chemistry at all. I’ve tried it several times in the stores and glad I didn’t buy it. I’m bummed because so many describe it as a very sexy fragrance, both men and women. Oh well 😅
@@sweetsimpleslowlife2709 honestly, I have super affordable fragrances that smell more expensive than this does on me - so disappointing! I really don’t get the hype, but to each their own. Glad you got to try it out first.
@@MJT66 I was gonna say the same thing! NR never would''ve been in my lineup of guesses for house if I had blind smelled it! Glad I am not alone there too!
Oh, I just blindbought 3 botlles of Stephane Humbert Lucas🤨🥺 God of fire- wich I have sold allready.. Pink Boa - ok, summer scent.. Rose Petra..Beautyful Rose!! But WHY DID I?? 😅because FOMO and a Sale…
Lord what??!! Do you live in the States? Lucky scent carries all of those which has been nice. Nothing from them has bowled me over. But it’s all subjective. The bottles are so freaking pretty (esp. God of Fire)
Thankfully, I only had one blind buy fail within the past year. It’s Anne Klein “Blazer”, a chypre originally released in 1976. My mom had a couple bottles when I was little (I was born in 71). I remembered it having patchouli, lavender and green notes. I looked in up in Fragrantica to refresh my memory and look up reviews. Lots of good reviews. It even won a FIFI award in 77. The price was great, because it was at a discount store. I bought it and sprayed it…. and all I got was strong marigold, geranium, juniper and ambergris. Very strong! Sadly, a scrubber for me.
Those scrubbers…are tough. I’m pretty tolerant and will try and wait until the dry down but even I have discovers a few where I literally ran to the sink to scrub something off. 😂
This video came about because I was looking at my editing program and realized I never released my video of "worst blind buys of 2022". As you will see, I added a few to the end that were failed 2023 blind buys so it is kind of separated in two parts.

That's awesome! Good for you to be able to recognize the importance of what is needed and not needed in your life!
Same here. I am only subscribed to 5 perfume channels now. I unsubscribed from over a dozen influencers in 2023 and I think decants are the way to go.

Those middle eastern frags are always a gamble. Very hit or miss unless you know what you're getting yourself into. Appreciate you sharing Chris! 💙
Hey thank you for stopping by!!❤️
I smelled Vanilla Milk in Sephora and thought it was atrocious also!
Yep. 😂
Hello! Yes. Let’s save our money for the loves!!🥰🥰
Yes. I slip up occasionally. But thank you for the kind words and for stopping by!!!❤️❤️😉🙏🏻😉💕💕💕
I will never understand why people get so offended by others not liking a fragrance they like. Wear what makes you happy!! I love that people have different taste and can hear how they interrupt a perfume from their point of view
You and I would get along great! I feel the same. ❤️🥰
@@ThePerfumeNest you’re amazing. Please continue to post new likes and dislikes 🤍
Yes!!! That really helps! High shipping is my red line also. I will not go over a certain number.
Hi Chris, 😊
I enjoyed hearing you talk about your blind buy mistakes and reading the comments people had about their own disappointments. It can really help with knowing why something didn't work out as much as when something does work. I am happy you shared your experience with Phantasma because tea fragrances are often tempting and one would presume low risk. Burnt tea going soapy musk isn't one for me. You look gorgeous in your video as always. Have a good day! 💛🌺
Oh my gosh. Do. Not. Blind. Buy. Phantasma!!! 😜
Yay!!! Good for you!!!!
@@ThePerfumeNest 🙌🤗 thank you for your support, beautiful 😍
I’m really trying to stop blind buying too. I’m guilty of buying something because it’s on sale or a good deal. For example, I just bought Byredo Slow dance for $150 and I hated it! I’ll hum and haw about a perfume that is regularly priced for the same amount, even if I’ve sampled and liked it (Good girl blush). I feel FOMO and don’t want to miss out on a bargain!
😂😂😂😂Yep. Been there. 🤦♀️
Yes! Someone else that hates opulent musk 😂 what a mess that fragrance is. It's so robotic.
Yeah I also decluttered sheikh Al shuyukh luxe edition. Screechy!!!
Those two have totally sworn me off lattafa fragrances... They've put me off trying more.
You were the one I was thinking of when I said that!! I know you hate it also. And that Sheik ….eye yie yie! Nose punch! 🤣
Yikes! Hi Claire 😊
I'm curious about sniffing fragrances in UAE...I hear so many great reviews about middle eastern perfumes and especially their dupe houses. There are so many now, I can't keep up! 😂
LOL....Show me Shampoo! This was a fun video...Hey, you aren't really a fraghead if you don't buy at least 20 perfumes a year and end up decluttering half of them! xoxo
Lol. Thank you. 😂🥰🥰
LOVE to see a blueberry video if you've found some great ones!
Done!!! I’ve got some good ones!!!
@The Perfume Nest oh yes, please! I love blueberry as well and the only one I kept is La Petite Robe Noire intense 😍 I will be waiting for your video!
Oh, the blind buy blues, yes Chris! I'm just so darned curious that I'm often led astray, my list is long I'm afraid🤪 Great video and the lip color and outfit are stunning😊
Thank you!!!!🥰🥰
I totally agree with you on Girl of Now andPhantasma
Thank you. I’m not crazy!!😂
Great video Chris…,makes me feel less guilty about the oodles of blind buy fails that have since been delegated to bathroom freshener.
Oh ps .. I’m so with you re Vanilla Milk . I really wanted this to work for me
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yea. I think it worked out for 17 ppl….🤦♀️😂
So just fruity? Because tropical almost always includes some sort of florals…
Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for sharing beautiful Chris.
Thanks for stopping by Pat!!🥰🥰
Really the only one I've had so far is Raised Spirits. It is really nice, but I think it just pulls too masculine on me. Luckily I got it second hand for less, and then I sold it to a friend. So, doing okay so far! Thanks Chris!
I liked it but when my husband wears it it’s Devine.. so it’s now his 😂
Oh gosh I love that one but I can see how it’s definitely not for everyone. Nom nom for me!😂😂
Love the title!
It fit!!😂🤦♀️
First, what a gorgeous blouse! I have been packing to move and going through my fragrances. I’ve blind bought some icky things over the last year, too. Mostly the cheapies that I got to get free shipping from our favorite Canadian perfume seller, but I did blind buy Cœur de Jardins from Miller Harris. It’s nice, but was too expensive to smell just nice. I almost bought Vanilla Milk blindly, but thank goodness I smelled it at Sephora first. I haven’t found an Ellis Brooklyn that I’ve liked yet!
Same here! I don't get the hype of this fragrance brand. Nothing I tried was appealing enough to spray on my skin. To each their own!
Yes.
Hi Chris! Fun video! I usually don’t blind buy but my birthday is this week and I found Iris Crush for an amazing price. It’s supposed to be very much like Guerlain’s French Kiss so fingers crossed…😬
Really?? Oh do tell my friend! Can’t wait!!
Oh yeah, I haven’t had much luck with Ellis Brooklyn fragrances (besides Apres), but Vanilla Milk was probably the biggest miss, such a bummer since the inspiration looked promising!
I remember both of us going down the tube on that one!😂😂
Club de nuit intense was one of my favorite but I usually layered it with other rose forward fragrances, so I honestly don't know if I liked it enough on its own 😂
What is Club de Nuit a dupe of?
@@ThePerfumeNest club de nuit intense is a dupe for Tom Ford Noir de Noir
The only Elie Saab that I have liked is Le Parfum. I really like the honey note in it. The "nose" behind it is Francis Kurkdjian, so that is probably why it is a good one. Cheers.🐝
Yes. I like him also. ❤️❤️
I would be in big trouble if it weren’t for sample swaps with friends!!!🥰🥰🥰
the same with me and La Belle le parfum. Edp is pretty though with that vetiver touch.

Your descriptions to some of these are killing me..😂😂
Oh dear. My mouth…🤣🤦♀️
Hello Chris❤ Happy Sunday 😊 Great Video🥰
Back at ya darlin!
I was excited about vanilla milk and I smelled it Saturday at Sephora and omg it was horrible.
😂😂😂Yep. Everyone else’s opinion as well I think.
😂😂I know my friend Sharida lives Abracadabra ! It’s a 10 for her. I haven’t tried it..:out of my price range. 😂😂
Hello gorgeous. This topic grabbed my attention.
I’m sure you can commiserate!!!
Thanks!❤️
Oh yes the dupes for BR540 and Erba Pura? I heard they were very well done.
Which inexpensive one did you blind buy?

I haven’t blind bought anything this year thankfully. It’s just easier to get samples.

Yes I’ve stopped blind buying. Opulent musk I sold 2 weeks after I got it!
😂😂😂😂Another Opulent Musk bites the dust. Beautiful Pat (Perfumes With Pat) loves it! 🥰🥰
@@ThePerfumeNest yes she’s the reason I bought it.
Good for you!!!!! I have tremendous respect for ppl who can ignore the hype and FOMO
Yes Guidance was in my first installment of Buy or Pass??” Very polarizing. I know many ppl who love it and can’t stand it. 😲😄😆
I also blind bought Opulent musk. I have worn it for quite a few times now, and I still have not been able to figure out whether I like it or not. It's probably going to get decluttered before it's finished, but for now, I'm still not sure.
I wanted to be that person who loved it.
Loved your video. I've made a few mistakes as well, mainly from perfumes of Arabia. The worst was Bint Hooran which unfortunately gave me nausea and nasty migraine. It smelt great in the box but not on me 😊
My husband says Bint Hooran smells like ham to him. I wasn't a fan of it either. I decluttered it.
@Kaminaari oh dear 😳 sorry to hear that. I am going to declutter too. I think my skin turns oud into a kind of repellent!
Ham!!!😆😆I have to keep mine because a lovely friend gave it to me. ❤️
Yea you would hate it. False advertising IMO. No macarons ….whatsoever!!!
Struggling so hard with Lalique encre noir (ashtray) Lattafa Pride Awaan (suffocating menthol) and Baroque Satin Oud by Maison Alhambra. They’ve been macerating for 3 weeks, back into the closet to mature longer!
I hear really great things about that Baroque fragrance and that it's a dupe for Oud Satin Mood...hmm... I'll have to sniff it one day!
Macerating! I will say it does work sometimes. 🤣🤦♀️
I mainly blind Buy base on where I live and I have been mainly successful. Because I don't just jump and buy a scent. I do alot of research before I do and I know the type of scents I like and notes that I like.
Good for you!!! That’s wonderful!!!🙌🙌
Hi there!! Yes….if I didn’t have a YT channel or active IG account I wouldn’t have as many…etc. we can at a minimum chat about them here at least . 😂
I am literally testing out a new blueberry perfume right now! It's Tonkazure by Pearlescent and the main notes I smell are champagne and blueberries. On paper it wasn't super impressive, but on skin it's delicious. I am def getting a FB!
Yes it’s arriving at my house today!!
@@ThePerfumeNest Oh, yay! Can't wait to see what you think!
So far in 2023 I had some successful blind buys but I am not going to keep pressing my luck. I blind bought PDM Valaya and MFK 724. I love both. I figured the fresh scents are safer to blind buy.
Freshies are pretty safe for me also and I love those two as well. 😉❤️
The escada blueberry still sounds good to me 😊. Teo Cabanel discovery set was samples but still a bad blind buy for me, because the set cost about the same as one of their bottles 😢
