    Elegant soap. Just cut today my goats milk, oatmeal and honey soap and got out of the mold my yogurt facial bars. I also always use yogurt in my shaving soaps

    I just enjoy watching your videos. I feel that watching your videos is as therapeutic as making soap.
    P.S. In almost all of your videos, I can only admire your glass mixing bowl. It just won’t break no matter how many times you bang that hand mixer really hard! Lol!

    Simple, yet elegant! I've yet to try yogurt. I usually use the powdered goat milk from Brambleberry in the melted oils along with the colloidal oatmeal. 😁😉

    Hi there, I am loving your tutorials. So informative. Could you please tell me how long you left the soap in the freezer? Cheers and thank you. 🌷

      @bramble-berry  Рік тому

      We recommend leaving the soap in the freezer for at least 3 hours to help avoid gel phase and overheating.

    Hello BB, Thank you for all the content. I have built a soap business here in India as a side hustle during covid lockdown, thanks to all your informative videos. Some of my customers live in areas with hard water. they complain that the soap does not lather much even when I use lots of lather mix. I have heard that adding citric acid to trace helps. How much and how do I add citric acid to cold process soap making?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  Рік тому

      You can add citric acid to your soaps. We recommend starting at 1% and you will want to dissolve it in some water and add it at trace.

    I would’ve done a water discount and used that water to add to the yogurt to make it more watery and easier to mix in esp if it’s a thick yogurt like green yogurt.

    Amazing recipe. When running through soap calculator. What would the lye concentration be?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  11 місяців тому

      The lye amount on the calculator will actually depend on the oils you are using. It's typically around 8% though.

      @EmeraldsHoneyComb Рік тому +3

      Yes but then u must run the recipe through soap calc because that then changes the recipe for the water and lye

    How we know the cp soap fully saponified?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  5 місяців тому +1

      We have a fantastic article 'All About Trace' that has photo examples of unsaponified and saponified soaps, available here: www.brambleberry.com/tips-and-tricks/soap/art0114-trace.html

      @@bramble-berry Thanks for rpl. But my question is not about trace. Its about how we identified the soap fully saponify and ready to use ?

    Is this a new trend, adding yogurt to soap and similar products?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  Рік тому +2

      Great question! Milk products in cold process soap have been popular for a long time. Yogurt is one of many ways to incorporate it.

    • @MsAubrey
      @MsAubrey Рік тому +2

      I know that most hot process soap makers use it towards the end of their cook to help with the pour. While I haven't been soaping for very long [only about a year], I think all milk products have been used for a long time in soap.

    • @keekeejenkins6162

    Can I just substitute Shea Butter instead of Shea Oil? What is the difference?

    • @bramble-berry

      You can substitute shea butter, though you will want to run it through our lye calculator to make sure you have the correct amount of lye.

      To make a harder bar of soap, try using a recipe with solid oils. Sodium lactate helps as well!

    So how long does it stay on the shelf since yogurth has a rly short date?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  Рік тому +1

      The pH of the cold process soap should prevent the yogurt from spoiling in the soap. The sooner you use it, the better it will be but it should last the full year or so for cold process soap.
