    My return cable just broke last night. Was in traffic and I noticed my throttle tube kept moving all the way forward when I’d shift. Just removed everything and saw it was the cable not my throttle tube. That’s what I originally thought

    2011 Superlow 883, I could NOT get the backplate of the air filter over out. Hey Ryan, I have an 06 electra glide Ultra classic. Lost all throttle on the way home from work and had to idle it the rest of the way home with hazards on . Im very new when it comes to trouble shooting issues. When i turn the throttle back the section under the cluster does wiggle a bit but no tension or return of throttle. This video helps a lot, I'm trying to gain access to the throttle body to check te back end of the cables. Any info or tips on what to do.? I appreciate it in advance, Ride safe back the blue.

    please don't take this the wrong way but a ferrule is a cap on the end of the outer cable and the nipple is the shaped part (pear /barrel different forms) on end of inner cable - I'm not sure if this an american thing but in UK and in dictionaries a ferrule is basically an end cap to lots of things

    You didn't show how that return cable goes into that throttle body..I can't get mine to go all the way in the guide into the throttlebody. There a little spring in front of the return cable ferrow. My question is...Is it suppose to be really hard to press the return cable into that guide to the throttle body(by the little spring part)? Good Video rhough.. Just having problems with my throttle returning back by its self..Just installed new cables.

    I recently installed a CV carb in place of a Mikuni carb on my 200 Springer. The original throttle and return cables seemed to fit well, however, there is no slack whatsoever in the return cable and with the handlebars to the right, the return cable is not working. The cable seems rather taut and I want to give it some slack. Upon closer inspection, there is the possibility that the screw part on the adjuster nut is stripped and not allowing the turn to turn. Is there a fix for this, other than buying a new pull cable?

  • @CarlosGarcia-ls4hn
    @CarlosGarcia-ls4hn 3 роки тому

    I plan on taking off my Mikuni and replacing it with a new one. Once I have the spigot out and away from the manifold, will that give me enough slack in the throttle cables to allow me to remove them from the carb and avoid having to remove them from the handlebar housing? If this can be done, I should be able to reverse the procedure to install a new carb, or not?

    • @chrishodapp1962
      @chrishodapp1962 3 роки тому

      If only replacing the carburetor, no need to disassemble the housing, just loosen the adjusters, should give enough slack to remove the cables at the carb

    Broke idle cable last week, so time to replace both with OEM cables from Dennis Kirk so this is perfect for the occasion. One quick query... I have a 2000 FLSTC and am finding I have more and more trouble with finding HD replacement trim parts, etc. Any suggestions? Is there a company that bought out those finish sets by year or set, e.g. Willie G. Davidson trim or the original HD Heritage trim kits??? Just thought you might know. Subscribing now. Great channel!!!

      First thing to check is if the grip is rubbing on the switch housing. If so, loose, readjust, and tighten.

    On that right throttle grip with the return cable and the throttle cable.... is there a spring that goes in there?
    I found a spring on the ground, a silver spring about a quarter inch in diameter,
    about 3/8 long....?!?
    I don't know if it fell out of the clamshell or what ...does it even come from there. ?

    how do you measure your throttle cable. Is it the length of the wire or the length of the plastic covering?

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  8 років тому +1

      +William Heck Measure the entire cable as it is via the covering. The cable inside is barely longer than that.

    • @RyanUrlacher

      It would all depend on the length etc. If they are the exact same length and will fit, then heck yah. One cable is a throttle up and the other is a return.
