If you setup the replacer with a synth instead of a drum plugin, and turn up the replacer mix amount to 100, you can get the synth to follow the groove of the source drum track. Better still, if you choose an arp preset on your synth and raise the hold time, you can get your synth to trigger more than just the trigger note.
Containers are probably my second favorite thing in bigwig, besides global modulators. The two combined open up so many possibilities, before even considering the grid.
Awesome, I love beign useful. I have a playlist on the channel and more videos to come! Let me know if you got anything you want to understand better :)
@@AlexReidStudios I'd like if you do some deep dive into making idm/glitchy stuff by editing audio or any way you like. That is if you're into those genres!
Love this channel. Clear narration, awesome videography (if that's the right term for the way you zoom in on, say, a container so that it's easy to spot where you are and what you are doing) and tons of "Say what?" moments where I back up the video and watch again. In the end it's all about the music, and I have to say that the clips and snippets you include in your videos sound superb. Thank you for taking the time to make and share them.
Appreciate your effort! I switched for bitwig quite some time age but I’m still unleashing it’s power. It was so fun to just fumble around intuitively adapting workflow from other Daws and discovering little thing that actually make Bitwig logic so superior. Now I started getting into guides and all those unique features and it’s just mindblowing. Your demonstrations are a pleasure to watch listen and they also set a good measure of things I’m gonna experiment with in the future. Thanks!
I've only touched on these in the past. Selector is cool with generative patches or when hooked into a sequencer. But you've opened all sorts if new ideas for me. Totally awesome.
Chain is much more powerful than it looks at first. Due to the fact that its gain knob is post-fx wet gain it is the perfect gain parameter for compensating for plugins that don't come with a wet gain themselves, enabling you to have a more balanced dry/wet mix, where 50:50 really feels like 50:50, like it's supposed to do
this is pretty interesting. like im not planning on switching daws anytime soon but seeing how things are done in different daws and trying to figure out how to accomplish the same thing in mine is really good mental exercise.
@@AlexReidStudios yeah part of the challenge i was giving myself while watching was how to do it without patcher. some of these would require patcher i think, but the first few i think could be done without, especially if you are really familiar with the stock plugins and how they have neat integrations with the mixer
look s promising good what Bitwig offer...well streamlined love the Design....thx .. is ther no layer management like in A.L. racks to manage and blend the chains or layers.? Key, velocity ,chain option ?!.. look like it could maybe possible with other devices ... maybe ..sry I grasp not the concept.... Chain control via blending mixing in and out with more Containers and dry and wet macro control rogether with the layer volumes ...❓
I hope you find this criticism constructive. The rabbit head mask thing really kills these vids for me. I don't know why. I think it may be because they don't add any real value to the video. When the camera cuts to the presenter camera I can't help but roll my eyes. Maybe it's too silly for me. Not trying to be harsh in any way and allow me to pre-apologize for anything I said which may be found offensive.

That's a great idea! Using the replacer with synths is amazing

Same here, I rare used the grid for a long time because the containers are so powerful

Amazing... both Bitwig and this video.

Didn't know a few of these, like the XYFX. That one looks tight! Even funner than the selector. And the replacer... magic!
Love that device too, a lot of fun!

Great to know :D. There are so many more ideas to make

Glad it was helpful!

Is that an ancient B.C. Rich warlock in the back?
honestly I don't know lol. I just got it from ebay

Merci 👍

Thanks!

But as far as I know, Ableton and Bitwig are siblings.

hey don't worry, and thanks for saying it so respectfully. I will keep the mask on for now, but I totally understand not everyone will like it.
In the event you ever wonder. My preference would just be to not cut to the presenter camera. Good content otherwise :D

🤔 can replacer be used to steal drum grooves?
I guess, but you will need to fine tune the detection and the bandpass filter to identify the elements of the groove you want to "steal"

whats that in the back ground some satanic mask ?

Seems like good information but it's too distracting to watch your hands emulate all your facial expressions.
I know, trying to work that
@@AlexReidStudios showing your face helps users read facial expression which is kind of important.
