    Silvuddy's Notes:
    - Vs. Wild Pokémon: In the sequel, this theme is slightly repitched and arranged. Unique to Unova is the inclusion of a strong/rare variant, which you can guarantee to hear by battling hidden den Pokémon in B2W2.
    - Vs. Pokémon Trainer: The B2W2 version is only slightly different, with the most noticeable difference is the altered bassline. The Subway Trainer version is much more varied, as you can probably tell.
    - Vs. Rival Cheren/Bianca / Rival Hugh: One rival theme for each set of games, with the first falling in line with Barry and Brendan/May's as a fun friendly battle, while Hugh's matches more with Silver's as a more serious and cool fight.
    - Vs. N: N's not a typical rival, but I thought he essentially was one so I included his music after the true rivals'. While the sequel remix is essentially just a reorchestrated version of the original, the final battle version is interesting because it actually replaces some of the musical ideas from the standard theme.
    - Vs. Gym Leader: This Leader theme is unique both in that there are two separate versions, as well as the fact that there is a completely unique theme played when the Leader's final Pokémon is sent out, utilizing the main Pokémon leitmotif.
    - Vs. Team Plasma Grunt: While the first version is super cool with its use of triplets, the 4-to-the-floor drums in the B2W2 version just make Team Plasma so much more menacing.
    - Vs. Colress: This absolutely amazing theme actually plays only once Colress is revealed as the new boss of Team Plasma, despite battling him twice before.
    - Vs. Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyurem: Reshiram and Zekrom's version of the theme is mostly the same, until roughly the halfway point where unique flame and electric SFX can be heard in the background. Kyurem's gets more creative, adding in a slap bass and some unique rhythmic variation.
    - Vs. Black/White Kyurem: Probably the most underrated and least remembered battle theme in the series history, in my opinion. Listen out for some of the original Tao Trio battle theme!
    - Vs. Ghetsis: The original music for Ghetsis is easily the most unique of any final villainous boss theme, restricted solely to choir and timpani. The sequel creatively remixes this with some really cool percussion.
    - Vs. Legendary Pokémon: Following the trend set in the Sinnoh games, the minor Legendaries get a shared battle theme, used for the Swords of Justice and Forces of Nature, as well as the Mythical Pokémon Victini.
    - Vs. Elite Four: After skipping over Generation 4, the Elite Four return to having their own unique battle music. Keep an ear out for a reference to the Hoenn Elite Four theme near the end of the loop!
    - Vs. Champion Alder / Iris: Unlike previous games with multiple Champions, both characters with the title receive their own themes that fit them perfectly!

    Silvuddy's Notes (cont.):
    - Vs. Legendary Giant: Interestingly, this is the only game where Regigigas uses the other Giants' battle theme!
    - PWT Vs. Gym Leader / Champion Themes: Game Freak really went above and beyond remixing all 8 of these themes; they really exemplify how stellar the B2W2 soundfont is!
    - PWT Final Round: While some might be disappointed that it overlays the awesome Leader and Champion remixes, I think hearing this banger every once in a while is worth it!
    - Vs. World Champion: Most players will never get to hear this theme come out of their Nintendo DS, as it was reserved for special real-world tournament battles. How fitting to use an epic arrangement of the very first Champion theme!
    - Vs. Cynthia: No one expected to see Cynthia in that fateful Undella Town villa and hear a new arrangement of her terrifying music on their first playthrough. Let us dwell on our shared trauma together...

Fun fact, the reshiram/zekrom theme in this video is specifically the one from pokemon white, you can tell by the electricity sounds symbolizing zekrom, the other version has flame sounds instead

Tbh, these games went all out with practically EVERYTHING.
Some godly entity animated EVERY TRAINER AND POKEMON SPRITE, INCLUDING ONES FROM OLD GAMES??? Like, who does that and lives to tell the tale?? Huge kudos for them and I honestly already expect that same love and care to not be put into the remakes, BUT I hope that it at least stays true to what went on, and can somehow have 2 as an added game - maybe with the remakes, it could be a double pack, so you'd get Black and Black 2 / White and White 2? But that would definitely be more costly since Switch games (especially big names like Pokemon) are already pricey and like I said, we're defintely not gonna see the same effort put into these like there clearly was in the OGs. But considering that Unova is the next region to get remakes...
If anything, I hope there's an awesome make of Colress' theme, as well as (maybe) Iris' Champion theme because those are just so awesome, imo, and better not be botched up! Like, PLEASE don't remove the countdown in Colress' theme, I BEG OF YOU!! It's because of that I really enjoyed battling him! Also, they better have the added music for critical/low health and last Pokemon in battles + Gym battles! I liked that victorious "last push, let's goooo!" feel in the latter for sure!
But also, those hidden spots in the overworld were amazing, I really enjoyed those. The world was just so much fun with the season changes and all the extra details put into it...I just need this.

Turning the critical HP sound into an actual battle theme is genius, shame it never carried forwards into other games (like so many great Gen 5 features)

I loved this concept but I think some people found it only marginally less annoying than the original incessant beeping, so they changed it to just an alert rather than a continuous thing from Gen 6 onward

What makes reshiram and zekrom’s theme separate from kyurem’s theme

    • @SilvuddyPkmnMusic
      @SilvuddyPkmnMusic  Рік тому +3

Kyurem’s theme has an extra plucked bass instrument and changes the rhythm of some Melodie’s ever so slightly, and it also lacks the elemental effects about halfway thru the track that are unique to Zekrom and Reshiram.
