435 Shepley to Wakefield (Cab Cam) MCV Evolution *Part Route

- First of all what do you think to this new angle? I thought I'd film something a little different with this camera as I've got a go pro clamp! haha
Usually the 435 starts the journey at Holmfirth, West Yorkshire however this wasn't possible due to road resurfacing on New Mill road. So the Journey was started and terminated at shepley. Someone asked me on the live stream to try to film an MCV so I though id have a little mess around with the camera!

I remember driving the 239 from Huddersfield Bus Station to Sheffield in 2002/2003. I departed at 1815 and returned for 2150, departing again for 2215 to Upper Denby area, then back to Hudds. I loved that late shift in a green Dennis Lance with Verde body. Listening to that 8.5 litre engine sing was music to my ears...oh what memories gone by...!!! 🤔💭...👍🙂...I drove at 30-55mph and it was the norm...!!!
London driving is sadly, 20mph and I do miss my 30mph driving, but times change! I hope you can still drive at 30-40 in some areas of Yorkshire Shaun...!!!

Amazing video! Loved it. Loved the VDL! I’m sorry but they are the best buses you guys have! Loved the kickdown and the thrash. Would love to see more of this bus and other VDL stuff you guys have! Camera angle, again, loved it. Reminds me of the other Shaun’s video driving the VDL Cadet. Cannot wait for next weeks video. Keep safe!

Glad to see ur bus has protective screen fitted as all the frontline Plaxton Elites that are on Edinburgh Glasgow St Andrew’s & Dundee runs have all been getting them fitted including the Coaches from Dunfermline & Perth depots & all depots that operate Coaches including my old depot Glenrothes where I worked for 20 odd years if you include 2 years on YTS. Loved my job mate servicing Buses checking-changing oils etc.

I much prefer the MAN engine in these MCV's myself. (Can be found in Travel De Courcey's buses) Nonetheless, looks a lovely route, nice video! :)

Mixed feelings about these evo’s (ours are on Volvo chassis) I find the build quality to be utterly awful compared to Wrightbus bodies on the same chassis. They rattle a hell of a lot more and one of our drivers had a panel fall off for no apparent reason as he turned into a bus station 🤣, same can be said for the evoseti double deckers, however they do motor well and are lovely and smooth to drive so it’s swings and roundabouts
MCV buses are built in Egypt init - not surprising 😂
