Wow glad they're finally looking into it but sheesh it obvious coming out of the package that it's super different plus the sudden hella bad reviews you'd think they'd have looked into it themselves.
Wow, what a response. I can't believe they think throwing free product at you is going to help cover up their lack of transparency. People have been leaving reviews telling them this for weeks- why didn't they say anything sooner? why no warning? why not take it up with their ingredient suppliers? Can't believe they also just ignored you on insta :/

A heads up would have been nice and they should have tested the product with the new ingredients in it… still sneaky and cheeky. People’s hair means a lot to them, it’s not something you can mess around with like that. Thanks so much for investigating and clearing up this issue :)))
I really hope that girl sends this video as extra proof to the company. They definitely need to pay for her hair to be fixed and refunded. Especially since most consumers buy the products from Sally’s cause it’s easier than the direct website. Either way the website product and Sally’s should match regardless.

@@justjoannak not really. Like Aislinn said, if they made a change, Sally's would of course sell their stock they already had before selling the new ones. That's standard for basically any store.
I don’t agree that they should pay for her hair to get fixed. You should always test a strand of hair before you do anything..

It says on the package to strand test so no they should not pay for her hair she should of read the packet. Her get a refund I agree though because they never said they changed the formula. Also I worked at Sally’s and Sally’s would return the money back to them if they took the package back and she told them what happen
Even if they haven't changed the formula, it's shocking to think they wouldn't have a.) noticed the influx of bad reviews or b.) noticed in production the change in color and consistency. I know if I had my hair screwed by a product I didn't know was reformulated, I would have been livid, especially when the company ignores it entirely even with proof. I'm interested to see how they respond moving forward because I feel like their behavior thus far has been unprofessional at best, and negligent at worst.
Omg I have been working on slowly bleaching my hair to go grey and I bought the long skinny package iroiro from Sally in the platinum. I haven't used it yet because I have been lazy, lol, but I am SO glad I didnt! Holy shit I would probably cry! Thank you for posting this
Thank goodness for your procrastination. I would have been so sad. It's such a long, tedious process to get your hair to that stage and it could've been messed up so easily.
Happened to me. Half my hair was silver and the other tube I got looked a little different in the tube but I didn't think anything of it and I ended up half silver half blue.

That is wild. Both silvers are pretty, but they’re different enough I’m surprised they didn’t give it a new color number or at least slap some sort of notice on the packaging that more than just the package shape had changed. I’d be fine with either, but I’d prefer to know which color to expect. That new platinum though, yikes. It even had a weird kind of greenish cast to it. I would not expect that result from “platinum” especially not if I’d ever used the original or seen it in person. That would be one heck of an unpleasant surprise.
I work at Sally's and I also said something to my manager about different formulas bc some of the newer ones we get on truck are more liquidy

thank you for this video. i think they should have changed the color number and name with the color formulations too to avoid confusion. there is no way they haven't changed it (as they said in the email) for it looks drastically different. i feel a bit disappointed in the brand, i hope they handle this responsibly otherwise i might lose my trust in the brand. it is one of my favorites but if i am going to get different shades of my favorite colors without any warning or explanation then i would be better off using something else.

This is wild. I have been slowly trying to strip out my layers upon layers of 4 years worth of purple hair to dye it grey and was planning on using IroIro Platinum to do it. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this video. If I used the new formulation I would have been SO mortified. That poor woman in the TikTok, I'm mortified for her! I cannot believe how IroIro is saying they didn't reformulate!! Like you can see as clear as day that they are NOT the same colours. I find this all EXTREMELY SUS. I'm not supporting IroIro ever again. That's a different level of nasty shady business.
I saw your iroiro rainbow hair dye video, and loved the neon green in the video. I got 2 tubes ob neon green and 1 tube of neon yellow and the colors were COMPLETELY different. The green was a more 'true' green, like kelly green, and the yellow was just a primary yellow, not neon at all. I wonder how many colors have had huge variations
It's not just the silver, today I used an iro iro black to do my roots and doing my best to keep it from bleeding it did and turned my silver hair green! I have been stripping out this nastiness all day today :( wish I would have seen this first!!

Same!!!! Got black so I could grow out my hair and it turned a teal color 😭 luckily I have bright colors already and it's in the back but it wasn't what I was going for. But i know the green is going to stay and I'll have to damage my hair to take it out😭
I actually had this same thing happen to me as the girl on TikTok! I bought 2 tubes, 2 different days of the 130 silver from sally beauty. When coloring my hair, I used one full tube, that looked like your original searches. But, I ran out and had to run and get more, and it was totally different.
I tried to dilute it to get it similar but my 2!: tube of silver still ended like a dingy green-gray. I took photos and contacted Iro Iro. Although they did send me a new tube their replacement was identical to the dark color I was unhappy with, even though the package said Silver. You can tell from looking at the neck of the packaging if it’s darker or not, now that I know. But I absolutely won’t be buying this brand again. I have photos to show the differences. Super disappointed. :( I didn’t keep my gray and rainbow hair as long as I had hoped because I couldn’t get over how green that new “silver” was. :(
I will never trust their butts AGAIN girl I was LIVID when my platinum blonde hair turned DARK BLUE JEAN BLUE 👖 WTF. That experience was so terrible for me, it honestly made me not ever want to work with iroiro again. I worked so hard to get platinum blonde hair just to get it ruined

I don't know if you have tried pulp riot speed toner, icy. I have switched to this, it's the only toner that has toned my hair to a nice silver shade similar to the platinum, round package in video, depending on mixing ratio. Can't get iroiro at a reasonable price in UK when I tried.
It's concerning because if you have long hair and had to buy multiple packets you could wind up with radically different colours in one go. I get that they've changed suppliers but again they should put that on the website and social media. Thanks Aislin for being so happy to check this out for your followers
I wonder if these could be an in between batch from when the pandemic struck earlier on. I noticed many products changing in taste and effectiveness without any notice of change on the packaging. When I looked into it, the expiration dates would've meant they'd been produced in 2020.. Which makes me wonder how many companies are skating by right now hoping to just switch back to normal like nothing happened.. Feels very deceptive to me.
Exactly. Sounds like shortages caused them to source their ingredients from somewhere new. And they didn't do any quality control testing to make sure their colors stayed the same.

I used the new platinum and it is pretty much a dark denim and it ruined the look i was going for. i hope no one is balming you because it is not your fault!

I had a similar issue with their Violet shade from Iro Iro. When I rinsed out my hair I literally saw the the very little pink shades that were in the formula wash away and my hair was left blue. I had even used that color before and did not have that issue before, so I don’t know what is going on with the company. If they’re not going to inform us of reformulating the colors then I might have to look for another brand to switch to.
Yes the violet is now blue. Used that share forever to keep up my purple hair and now it’s blue 🙄

Oh what a mess they created. The new platinum looks a lot like the old "BLACK" from IroIro, it was a super dark blue, but not black. Really troublesome to dont let anyone know about a complete different outcome in color, so thank you very, very much for making this video. Iam sure, you safed a lot of people today!

The “orange” in that packaging is pretty much sunflower yellow too. They had to have changed the formula there too because so many people like it but it’s not close to orange.
This happened to me as well! Iroiro has always been my favorite silver color. Every other companies silver/gray turns my hair blue and I have tried so hard to stay away from any blues after removing all of it finally last September. When I colored my hair last month before Billies concert the iroiro made my hair a dark denim blue. I was so upset.
My mom got the skinny Silver tube last week from Sally's and it looked the same as the original formula so that's interesting.
That’s what happened to me. I used the “og” and it turned blue. So I used the skinny tube on bottom and while it didn’t take very well it was an actual silver
I mean her hair definitely wasn’t light enough for silver to begin with so I am not surprised with how the color came out. Thanks for keeping us updated on the changes to these dyes!
I used a permanent dye a few years ago that was supposed to be a really dark purple. My hair was almost blonde, and the dye turned it a very bright primary red. I found reviews of other people who had the same issue, and after I posted pictures and a review, I got a message from the company asking if I was sure I actually used the dark purple.
Wtf...this is crazy, how can they do this to people. And they are still selling both, that's such a shock. I feel for that girl in that Tic tok. Ruined her hair.

Old silver and platinum was my go-to for alone and mixing for a "smokey" look. Loved it so much. Thank you for posting this! I would've been so mad if I spent money on the new ones. And Lunar Tides literally did this to me last week with their silver and gray. The both look black. I'm mad just over that one. So beware with Lunar Tides too, apparently.

Dude! I got platinum from Sally’s after is saw your original video and was like “ wow that’s a lot darker” when I used it but I thought it was just me 😂😭 I even diluted it and it still came out so much darker than the original… not cool Iroiro.

It might also be helpful for ppl if you could add production dates on the packages. this way they’ll know that old formula was at least up to day x., which could increase their chances of getting what they want in offline stores. Thanks and keep up the good work :)

I’m just watching this video now, and this whole mess is bonkers! Every Iroiro dye I’ve bought in-person (since mid-2020) has been the long, Sally’s packaging. I’ve only ever gotten the round one when ordering online. I have a bunch of different Iroiro dyes, and among those are silver and platinum that I bought in November 2021. Those are in the Sally’s long packaging, but, they’re the original color. This could mean this change was VERY recent. Or, I ended up getting old stock

Yikes. I used the original silver back in 2020 because of your recommendation and I remember liking it for the most part. (I always dilute with conditioner though so I customize how much pigment is going on) Thankfully I've been loyal to ManicPanic though and didn't end up going back to this brand because I would be PISSED if my white hair got messed up by a sketchy brand.
I just recently used the new iroiro brown they they have. My hair was a light blonde and it made my hair so orange! I had to tone my hair with blue shampoo just to get the some of the orange brassiness out and it’s still slightly orange!
My mind is blown! This is absolutely insane!
Back in December of 2020 I bought a skinny package of silver iro iro dye from Sally’s and it turned my hair dark grey-green and I was shocked - *it could have been January of 2021 but you get the point *
I have a feeling that the people who work answering dms and e-mails barely know anything about the formulations and the color themselves and that’s why they haven’t answered your messages, the only people who prob know about the changes are the owners of the brand and the chemists who work creating the colors. I used to love the old silver formulation, it was a perfect silver as you said, the new one looks cool too but they should have released it as a new color instead of changing the old one 😔 and well the new platinum looks a mess lmao in what kind of world would you name that shade platinum… that’s like a charcoal gray 😭 anyway love your videos, thank you for uploading these comparissons, they are very helpful❤️
I think the "new" silver looks more like silver. I prefer the old platinum. I'm surprised iroiro didn't clear this up sooner. At least they did!
Yeah I have no idea what they changed their formula to i used it on my toned white hair and it made it a dishwater color then when I went to remove it it turned pink and completely stained my hair

After watching your video on the last one (but I watched a few months ago) I went and bought the platinum. It came out as a blue Jean dark color. It did however last a long time and the fade out was very nice. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it wasn’t awful.
I used that "platinum" on my hair last year and it was almost black. I was so mad because my hair was actually platinum blonde and I just wanted to tone it. I should have done better research but I was looking at the name of the color. They need to change that because it isn't even close to platinum and it sets an expectation that is completely off. It did come out but took a lot of time and several applications of the ion color remover.
just back home from Sally's and picked up a few gray/silver colors to play with. One of them being the iroiro 140 Plat. in the newer packaging. I am crazy hesitant about putting that on my head. That leaves XMONDO Slate, and ion Color Brilliance Slate to play with.

I don't know if you're gonna read this but I recently dyed my hair with their neon blue and green dyes and they're Hella different and not as uv reactive as they were. So disappointing 😞
This is so disappointing, they definitely should have made an announcement of some kind. i also don’t know why they responded to your email and said they didn’t change the formulation when it’s clearly different? ive already had a fairly negative experience with iroiro in the past; i bought their 80 orange and my hair came out very yellow, which is somewhat on my for not doing more research, but it still didn’t look anything like the photos on their website, and the dye was also thick, chunky and hard to work with. I probably won’t be purchasing from them again :/
Wow i just used this on my split die, it works amazing but i had some yellow on my roots and it turned out a little green....
I just noticed that Malibu launched a new color thing......Malibu Colour Infusion Concentr8 in the primary colors, red, yellow, and blue. It's a powder you mix in with stuff supposedly.
This is CRAZY I just want to say I'm so happy I watched this video before using there color. Like you, I have used there silver and platinum in the past and really lived the color. I have the old AND new ones currently and if I didn't watch this I may have made a huge mistake.

I've watched a lot of your videos but this is my first time actually commenting-
I was unfortunately bamboozled by their new formula.
I dyed my hair with their platinum shade in the past and I loved the grey tone. It even faded out nicely and my hair was such a nice, light grey color.
Then came time for me to redye my hair. It was right before I left for vacation and I even bought clip-in extensions to dye as well.
So I purchased a pouch of the platinum shade again and as soon as I squeezed it out I was like, oh damn this is super dark.
I assumed they changed up the formula or maybe the color oxidized.
Dyed my entire head, washed it out, and my hair was maybe a shade lighter than black. It was soooo dark and I was not a fan.
I had friends that complimented my new "blue" hair. A color that once had a nice purple undertone now made my hair look green/blue.
It basically ruined my color.
This happened in August, but as of today I dyed my hair a deep blue.
I gave up on grey after that xd

I feel like at Sally’s they have the new formula because they actually sell more than on Iro Iro’s website. Therefore, I assume that for logistic purposes, Iro Iro is going to just finish selling the old ones.
I can’t believe they aren’t letting customers know about this, especially with how easy it would be to just create and name two new colors.

Thank you for making this video! I used the Iro Iro silver on my PLATINUM level 10 blonde hair and dyed my hair a swampy grey color with blue green undertones. That was back in Aug 2021. It's sad to see that they haven't fixed the formulation yet even though many people have complained. The color did easily fade and come out with I bleached my roots, so luckily I think it's easy to get out if you have happened to use it.

Perhaps it also has to do with the shade of her blonde, she claimed her hair was platinum in the beginning of her video but her hair looked super yellow?
