Sony makes products that absolutely refuse to die. My parents still have a Sony CRT TV from the early 90's that's still going strong despite nearly three decades of use in a garage.

Which means if a company wants to release a product that is close to your idea (in the region where your patent is activated) they would need your permission or a licence from SONY, if they do not agree with SONY they can easily be sued for patent infringement. So SONY could just license their patents and take in royalty payment e.g 20% of profits or a fixed price like 20millions $ for license deal
@@dougiebuckets1364 Really? Ive heard of medical/pharmaceutical patents having limits but electronic or company patents too? If that were the case why do game controller makers have to do a work around when constructing their directional pad? Nintendo has owned the patent since the 70's or 80's for a simple d pad, and because of this any makers of controllers must find a work around Or if possible pay Nintendo. I remember this was the same reason PS3 game pads had no rumble at first, then they finally agreed to pay for the license for rumble, anyway I don't know if they have time limits to or not.
Mitsubishi and Daewoo would both be good ones. Daewoo went belly up pretty much everywhere due to scandal. And I think jail time was involved. They aren't really considered a chaebol anymore.
@hu1a121 It's much bigger. They have trading(3), real estate, banks(2), engineering, papers, chemicals (4 of them), insurances, beverages(Kirin), glasses, shipping(1 sea 1 land). When I think of Sony, I always think of PlayStation (obviously), the Spider-Man franchise, Columbia Pictures, their record labels and Home entertainment & Sound
Same. I think that’s the byproduct of growing up alongside the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and having a PS2 as a kid. Plus, the Columbia Pictures lady always confused me with a different take on the Statue of Liberty. 🤣
My dad bought a Sony car radio one of those ones you install, back in the 90’s before I was born. He still has it to this day and it still works. Sony is a great company and provides quality stuff.

It’s crazy because everything I own is pretty much Sony. Headphones, play station, TV, my camera, I even had their phones and laptops lol love the video Mike!
Yes, I'm a Sony fanatic, it all started because of the Playstation. Then I had a Walkman MP3 player when smartphones wasn't still a thing. I thought back in the the Sony Ericsson phones were so bad ass. I wish Sony phones were more popular now, other than Samsung and Iphones.
Embarrassing childhood story ahead, for a while I was the coolest kid at school because my family was the first one to own a Sony colored tv with a remote control in my neck of the woods. My father scared the neighbors when he turned off the tv with the remote and they thought the house was haunted. >.
a more embarrasing story but not related to SONY. when my friend's uncle went to meet his future father and mother in law on a very distant village, the villagers had never seen a car so when he turned up with his pick up truck and parked it outside they started offering hay to the car.

You must not have a clue how big Microsoft is in the Corporate Market. They make billions off licensing Windows to companies which for the most part use all Microsoft products. Rarely do you see Apple or Linux in a non tech centered company like software development or systems security. And then all the server side stuff you never see like Azure, that runs the internet. They are still huge. Maybe not in the gaming market but they have a lock down on Software products like no other company. Even Apple relies on Microsoft to release Microsoft Word for Apple's operating systems. Think of how every computer comes with Windows, well Asus or Acer or HP all pay Microsoft to put Windows on their hardware. Fats sums of money too. Dell has deviated and offers Linux Ubuntu as an option now but for the longest time, every single PC came with a windows license aside from Apple hardware, in most cases you cant even avoid paying for Windows, even when you plan on uninstalling it for Linux, it's already in the cost. Also, they are huge in the IOT sector and make a lot of integrated systems that you don't see as a consumer. Apple might make more money but Microsoft is way more prevalent in the IT market whereas Apple has a tight lock down on the design focused consumer market and mobile markets. I work for the government in Canada and you wouldn't imagine the amount of money we pay Microsoft for licensing and ongoing support of their products like extended warranties each year. Plus if it wasn't for Microsoft Apple would have never made it big. DOS was licensed to apple for a period meaning Apple Hardware ran a Microsoft operating systems for a good part of it's beginning until they made their own operating systems.

Iirc Nintendo hired them to make what may have been the N64 but Sony wanted to use Disc drives instead of cartridges. Nintendo said no and made the N64 where as Sony just made the Playstation 1 with a few games. I forget what exactly made it take off but I think it was a combination of Devs liking working with it more because it wasn't as limited as an N64 cartridge and it had better games. I checked a chart I saw once and it was more expensive and the size difference wasn't to huge. It did have head start though.
M7 S4i5l8v2a your close it was supposed to be a CD add on to the Super Nintendo like the SEGA CD but at the last minute when Sony was showing the prototype at a CES Nintendo changed their mind letting Phillips make it instead which pissed Sony off and they used the prototype to develop the PlayStation.
@@M7S4I5L8V2A No Nintendo initially worked with Sony to make a CD-ROM attachment for their upcoming Super Famicom and Super Nintendo, mainly to compete with NEC's PC Engine, which already had a CD-ROM attachment by the time the Super Famicom/SNES was in development. Then Nintendo wasn't happy with the fact that Sony agreed to get all the money from the CD-ROM add-on, so they dropped them in favor of Philips. The Nintendo/Philips collaboration failed as well, so Philips made their own console called the CD-i and it had some of the worst games ever with Nintendo characters. And we all know what Sony did afterwards.
Thank you for mentioning that PlayStation is far less than half of the company. I've seen so many ignorant comments over the years that have this perception that PlayStation is 80-95% of Sony for some reason, and if the PlayStation ever failed then it's gonna end the company.
Its really so much more than just that, PlayStation is a fraction of so much more than the company produce, and he didn't mention the brand of Sony Music
Joe The PlayStation is to Sony as the iPhone is to Apple. Not the make or break lifeline of the company, but definitely the integral piece that represents the heart of the company. At least, by today’s standards for both.
I keep seeing people on console wars mentioning Microsoft has more money then Sony. Like what the hell does that have to do with who sells or makes more money selling consoles. Microsoft is obviously much richer off there PC sales compared to there console sales. They even said recently Sony is not there competition, Amazon and google are bigger threats since Microsoft gets much revenue from there cloud services not there consoles.
For me Sony is an amazing company, my dad used to work for them. I got to see their pre realesed products in thier internal mag. Their focus on RnD is always making things better. They have probably the crazist lineup of product and inventing media mediums than most.
Sony has been part of my life since I was born in the '80s. My grandfather was the first licensed Sony Electronics dealer in the US (back in the '60s, I think...? I'm not sure.) and my dad dealt with them all the time in the radio communications business he started in the '80s a few years before I was born. We ALWAYS had Sony EVERYTHING. Hell, my first laptop in 2001 was a VAIO. We've become more associated with Samsung now when it comes to TVs and such, but our video camera is still a Sony as are all the blu-ray players in the house.
The way in which the business formed Post world war 2 in efforts to restore the Japanese economy is just remarkable. The Japanese are one of a kind man.

@Alex The Awsome What do you think is possible? They compete with the US of course and at that time Japan is more popular than you think. Like after WW2 the whole world (even the US) rely on Japan for cars and electronic since their's are inferior to the Japanese stuffs.
they had an excellent work ethic even before the war which is why they were hard to beat during the war so naturally after the war and thanks to free market reforms they became successful
The Japanese seem to have a great work ethic and they seem mostly immune from the American "individualism"--which is often just selfishness masked as freedom. The Japanese seem to actually think of themselves as part of a larger society
When I think of Sony, I think of a company I LOVE. It's an incredible company and I have major respect for it for all the reasons historically till this day.
And the fucking awesome about this company is that, everything you buy from them, they are value for money and quality products as well. Sony build up trust with their customers. Its like once you go sony you never change.
At least Sony didn’t end up like Kodak or Fujifilm, those companies ended up losing relevance in the consumer market. Sony at least their studios that produced content like music, movies, and games. The PlayStation brand and Columbia Pictures and their record company helped offset their losses from outdated technology.
@Clay3613 Sony was behind in the consumer electronics market, they didn’t evolve fast enough with digital MP3 players, their phone sales went down, their sales in TVs were declining, they didn’t catch up with Samsung with flat screens. They sold cutting-edge products, but their sales declined during the past decade. Apple was outselling Sony in music players and phones. Sony as a conglomerate, has made some mistakes nearly a decade ago.
yeah bruh, exactly... and they're always ahead when it comes to product quality and features.. i mean u can guarantee that ur money is well spent.. unlike the company with a rotten fruit logo
My personal feeling after living in Japan for a decade and a half and having them as a client over several years is that Sony is struggling to survive within a massively over-sized "suit", which was needed at their peak, with a shrunken body (i.e., a good chunk of successful businesses are no longer part of Sony). External and internal factors have prevented them to get a better-fitting suit to compete with global rivals. Japanese labor laws, although relaxed recently, still make it difficult for employers to fire payrolled employees. This and Sony's lack of competency in moving forward in drastically changing their fragmented structure to a more cohesive one (merging their core competencies closer to each other) has prevented them to show their true colors. Many Sony employees still see former CEO Stringer as a guy who couldn't walk the talk. Large companies, especially in Japan, are afraid of overhauls because they will bring many uncertainties and affect employees' well-being in their daily lives. Also, profitable business arms like Sony Life (life insurance) and Sony Sonpo (auto insurance) are completely different entities and I highly doubt they'd be interested in merging operations under a hypothetical company like "Sony Insurance". They are happy with their successes and have no interest in wrecking that harmony. They have a point. Why fix something that's not broken for the sake of a corporate vision. This doesn't mean that other Sony entities shouldn't collaborate more. Imagine a cohesive line-up of mobile/non-mobile device ecosystem that's part Xperia Android smartphone, part PlayStation that can project the screen on a large flat screen, part high-res LDAP audio/video content player that makes Sony Pictures and Sony Music easily available, a high-end camera technology derived from the Sony Alpha DSLR/full-frame mirrorless camera line, an industry-leading noise-canceling earphone/headphone included....all insured by Sony's insurance arm. I've lost my love for the company over a decade ago, but products with an integrated Sony ecosystem will raise eyebrows. There might be a time when Sony truly internalizes its existential problem and make significant efforts for a turn-around, but it might be too late for them to regain its global leadership like in their heydays. They have a lot of recipes. Let's see if they can cook up something amazing.
This is why Japan is awesome. They already hit their growth peak in the 90's, so now they focus on maintaining what they have. American companies seem almost eager to fire people and burn the whole thing down and jump ship. Look at Activision.
It true what you say. What os holding Sony back is their lack of diversity. Not that they are not diversed at all, but they always stay true to their roots ie. Electonic and Home intertainment. The future is IT-Services, Software and AI. The Electronik market is oversaturated with Samsung, apple, Google, LG etc no there is a lot competition. I hope for them that they diversify a lot for their own good considering the improving quality of chinese tech manufacturer at cheap prices
@@compaqdeskpro5770 Sony in America is also eager to fire people, burn the whole thing down and jump ship. Sony DADC here has fired nearly all of their full time employees and outsourced most of their production/packaging to Mexico. Last I heard they only had one line running with just a handful of temp/seasonal's. They just auctioned off a ton of equipment and the plants are almost empty. They used to be an awesome company that cared about quality products and its employee's but now it's just numbers and the bottom line. Back in the late 00's they started changing for the worse and started losing contracts due to poor quality/defective products. It really is a shame because they employed a lot of this town and people would drive 50 to 100 miles to work here and now it's just a bunch of big empty buildings with a few cars in one of the parking lots. I don't want to see them go down but the physical media side is on its way out though.
@compaq deskpro Thank you for the comment. I agree that employee protection is important, but finding the right power balance is critical. Giving too much power to employers will result in lack of job security and trust held by employees. In the US (not sure about other countries), not only are full-time employees easily fired and hired, but temporary staff members are being used as buffers for seasonal and project-based workload peaks. There was a recent CultofMac article about Apple's treatment of temp workers. The article is titled "‘Culture of fear’ dominates Apple’s secretive satellite office". It's abhorrent. Very much worth a read. (e.g. There's a story about Apple employees and temp workers having segregated restrooms. Temp staff members have to wait in line to use the restroom because temps significantly outnumber full-time Apple employees.) As me3333 mentions, it's awful what's going on in Sony DADC. This is why the notion of corporate loyalty is absent in the US. Japan's heading the same way because the age-old concept of "lifetime employment" and secure pensions are withering away. Large corporations were employees' social security system, but that's going away. A real-life example is how I've met many taxi drivers (most of them earn about $17K-$20K per annum) and a good number of them used to be executives in Japanese companies. Their pensions from their former employers are non-existent and social security payments aren't enough to survive. It's sad when I see those drivers tell me how they don't throw away their empty tiny coffee drink cans that are sold for $1.50 at vending machines and refill them at home every morning because they want to keep their dignity by appearing as though they can afford new coffee drinks every day. Also telling is how Sony has subsidiaries that accompany "non-effective workers" in entities like Sony Global Solutions. I’ve heard from someone who was a client of his. He claims to have seen multiple floors having endless rows of desks with late-40 through early-60 employees silently typing seemingly conducting mind-numbing data entry tasks into Excel spreadsheets. I've heard from a current Sony HQ employee that SGS is treated as a place where employees with low productivity are sent to. It's a sad story. Sony is also famous for having a "Career Improvement Training Center", which is a euphemism for "indirectly" firing people. It's located in the old Sony HQ building and low-performing employees are told to get "re-educated" at the Training Center. What takes place is appalling. Sony can't outright fire employees. Workers deemed unnecessary are sent there with significantly reduced pay and are given remedial tasks every day like how to use Outlook and Excel effectively. They are also persuaded to find jobs outside of Sony every day by looking through classified ads. The goal is to make their lives so miserable that they quit the company on their own accord. Many of them end up suffering from depression....sometimes much worse. Sony can deny responsibility and claim that they have this training center to help employees in need and that they did their best in "helping" the underperforming workers. There's a dirty side to every company. Sony is no exception.
@@ulrichleukam1068 Thank you for your reply. As you say, sticking to one's roots is important, but hanging on too long to something that is clearly no longer valid is harmful. Sony has admitted to sticking with their Trinitron CRT technology way too long and not taking risks in investing in LCD panel fabrication. The Korean companies saw this as an opportunity and the rest is history. By the time, Sony formed a strategic alliance with LG, Sony was way too late to get into the game. I completely agree with your statement about the future. But, Sony does not have competitiveness in any of those fields. Software has been a weakness for Sony because they've relied on hardware for such a long time. Of course, SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment) do have some as do other subsidiaries, but software does not define who they are. I have seen unsuccessful efforts in the software realm. They tried developing their version of a paid-version of UA-cam that specializes in high-definition, but that never took off. It was market-irrelevant. My hope is that Sony will hang on to roots that are relevant today and in the near future while taking on risks using their many in-house assets held by subsidiaries.
Please do a video on the decline of GameStop I’m contantly hearing about how bad the business is doing and the GameStop near me just closed. I keep seeing videos about how bad it is to be an employee there and I really would like answer and I think other people would want to know as well. Hope you see this! ✌️
Personally I will never understand the hate GameStop gets. I have a good friend that's been a store manager with the company for 22 years now. And he's always very positive about the company. Plus I've been shopping from them for two decades and I've never had a bad experience with GameStop myself. But then again I don't do trade-ins I collect. But I love a lot of times the pre-order bonuses I get for the games. And I tend to find some real Bargains in their pre-owned game section plus their sales like buy two get one free. So simply I'm just saying I've not had a bad experience with a company and I will continue supporting GameStop 👍 .
What comes to mind for me is their revolutionary cameras, from compact one inch sensor power houses, to aps-c (that need new glass options like a native 35mm ff equivalent) and of course their current full frame cameras are so good... and the glass is fantastic! More yet to come and they're totally on fire with it.
My parents always loved sony products. My father has a Sony walkmen that still works today. I've always been fond of them, specially since they gave me many of my great childhood memories with my PS2.
Don't forget to mention their abusive advertising practices and attempts to establish monopolies! At least once a week, there's an envelope in my mailbox addressed to "Our Neighbor At:," or something to that effect, with no info on the outside as to who it's from, and it's always an AT&T advertisement. They also have misleading titles for their internet packages, which end up being much slower than expected, and do their best to sign you up for other, unrelated services offered by other companies. SCREW AT&T AND ALL COMPANIES ASSOCIATED WITH THEM.
@@Dave102693 Two different companies now. "at&t" is the cellphone business (DeathStar logo), while "AT&T" is most everything else. Most people don't know the subtle difference. I knew about their involvement with music, movies, PlayStation and various electronics but the one thing that surprised me was the financial services part. I had no idea that they were involved with that too.
It is interesting to know Sony is THAT big. I'm old enough to remember their 70's ads that ended with "Sony. No Baloney." I still think of the Walkman first when I hear their name.
10:44 - How about how they own the Blu-Ray format, used to own the DVD and Compact Disc standards and the 3.5 in. floppy disk format? There was a time when if you had a movie on DVD or an album on CD, no matter what the studio or the label, everyone had to pay SONY a royalty. SONY Memory Stick was also an enormous sensation that changed everything. Perhaps for brevity or focus or to concentrate on current product versus historic product, but part of why SONY is down to 97 in rank from high flying days is because of so many more businesses -- HUGE businesses -- that you just skipped over. Your title affirms that SONY is Bigger Than [We] Know but you still didn't cover even half of it. You totally glossed over their world dominance with the Walkman and later the Discman (essentially the precursors to the iPod) or their near monopoly of high end displays with their Trinitron division. Or how about how there was a point in time that if you were to shoot HD video, you HAD to pay SONY. Their Broadcast division used to have a total lock on HD. They also acquired Tribune Media (then Tribune Broadcasting) and used to own TV stations all over the world. How about the fact that they own the music catalogues of some of the most famous music in the world including the entire Beatles catalogue. They're in electric cars. They sold their battery division but only to buy another battery manufacturer. You touched on VAIO a little bit but there was a time that it was the leading multimedia PC in the world. SONY almost acquired Apple and could've owned the whole thing at the height of VAIO. Bottom line, you did not even scratch the surface on how big SONY is. Keep in mind, that's just talking about what they own outright, they have joint ventures of all kinds plus they operate one of the world's largest, most powerful, and most influential "keiretsu" operations with their hands in the management of just about every company and every industry in Japan and parts of Europe. Perhaps, after all, SONY is bigger than YOU know.
You are not exactly right about DVDs The DVD standard belong to DVD Consortium, now renamed DVD forum. It consists of a lot of companies( more than a dozen) which does include Sony, but they definitely does not own it.

There is nothing strange about this. First, Japanese products usually live long, second, it is not unusual to see electronics from the 80s and 90s still working. For example, we have an Aiwa cassette deck from the eighties or nineties (can't remember exactly) and it still works. We don't use it anymore of course, but it still works.
Most of the old devices my family used from 2000-10 are Sony, such as CRT, DVD player and a walkman. Nowadays, we use other brands such as Samsung, LG for TVs, Apple for iPhones and Dell, Microsoft for laptops, forgetting that Sony began to fell behind by smaller and younger competitors at that time. The only Sony product I recently have is a PS4 which I got it for my birthday when I turned 12, in which I'm the only person in my family who has purchased a modern Sony product thats released after 2013
Their quality and consistency is unmatched. I have hand held tape recorders that my grandma used to use and still works! I had a 15 yr old CRT that sat in the garage in boiling heat and it continued to work I had to donate it for a flat screen LED TV. The PlayStation line including the PSP! Still one of my favorite handheld consoles of all time. My starter mirrorless camera I purchased back in 2012 that still holds its own… not to mention my Sony VCR! Other than having to change a rubber band on the bottom IT STILL WORKS since 1994! My noise cancellation headphones that I used on EVERY plane ride that runs off a AAA battery. i don’t think ppl realize that sony owns so much patent that’s in modern day tech that they can be in the red for the next 20 years and still be fine.
Can you explain
@@boukharroubamabrouk6943 patents basically secure/trademark/copyright-prodect an idea for future products.

Really? Ive heard of medical/pharmaceutical patents having limits but electronic or company patents too?
If that were the case why do game controller makers have to do a work around when constructing their directional pad? Nintendo has owned the patent since the 70's or 80's for a simple d pad, and because of this any makers of controllers must find a work around Or if possible pay Nintendo.
I remember this was the same reason PS3 game pads had no rumble at first, then they finally agreed to pay for the license for rumble, anyway I don't know if they have time limits to or not.

The PlayStation was the result of a failed collaboration between Sony and Nintendo.

Then Nintendo wasn't happy with the fact that Sony agreed to get all the money from the CD-ROM add-on, so they dropped them in favor of Philips.

@@nubee.pkuniteThe Japanese make good quality products.
@compaq deskpro
Thank you for the comment.
Temp staff members have to wait in line to use the restroom because temps significantly outnumber full-time Apple employees.)
As me3333 mentions, it's awful what's going on in Sony DADC.
@@ulrichleukam1068
Thank you for your reply.

I am so glad that they're dying. They're always ripping people off. I don't even know how they got away with it this long.
@@gokusondbz Besides the crap value, it depends on the person running the store that will determine your experience. Not everyone is as lucky as you.
gokusondbz friends will create the illusion of a great experience, especially if they work there..
Remember EB Games?
I love this company so much because they are doing their best to give us what we need in a simple amazing devices that what I think about them
Sony is responsbile for much of my teen years.
Sony is one of the most Innovative companies out there! ... let alone apples brand value.... sony is a global player
well their Daulshock 4 Controller never failed to amaze me, it never broke but fell for 100+ times
Yes 😂
my broke in a year
What comes to mind for me is their revolutionary cameras, from compact one inch sensor power houses, to aps-c (that need new glass options like a native 35mm ff equivalent) and of course their current full frame cameras are so good... and the glass is fantastic! More yet to come and they're totally on fire with it.
I switched from an Xbox to a PS4 a while back.. glad I changed!
Wrong choise , get a PC and u would never touch a console
Went to Wii to xbox 360 to ps4 and then to PC, PC is better trust me
Cristian Marin of course you wouldn’t, you would be broke for the next 5 years
Stop lying to yourself
@@blanco7726 I recommend that you actually get to know a topic before you respond with such an assertive statement which is untrue.
My parents always loved sony products. My father has a Sony walkmen that still works today. I've always been fond of them, specially since they gave me many of my great childhood memories with my PS2.
It would be cool if you made a video on At&t which owns around half a trillion in assets. Including Time Warner & DirectTV
A&tt and Verizon used to be one company as a company names Bell and it's different divisions across the country.
Plus they have the Deathstar logo - they have that going for them....
And now owns WarnerMedia. AT&T is not "bigger than you know". They are "big and you know it".
Sort of how Motorola broke up many years ago into two separate companies ("sectors") but you wouldn't know unless you paid close attention.
I still have a Sony CRT TV bought by my Dad in 1984. It still works ! Quality is Analogous with Sony.
Absolutely agree, congrats to your entire coment... Thanks for that.
Now that's more knowledgeable than the video...
Well, to be fair he did say that he didn't want to go into a lot of these in this video.
You are not exactly right about DVDs The DVD standard belong to DVD Consortium, now renamed DVD forum. It consists of a lot of companies( more than a dozen) which does include Sony, but they definitely does not own it.
He didn't mention walkman
I must admit it
Sony made everything solid and durable also very cool and looks ahead of its time
I have Bravia 3D 40" got it in 2012 and still works perfectly
Also the Image Quality is the best even better than Samsung LED in now times
And the product finishing is awesome no bezels only glass panel

Also I have their smartphone

They are all great (except Z3) and no glitches or hasatation super fast and great battery even its much smaller capacity than other brands
Simply I obsessed with every sony Prodect
Also I own PS4 and Cybershot Camera 😂
I've had a set of headphones from Sony since 2014, and I've used them heavily, running outside in the rain and snow and till 2019, and they still work .
Since 2014?!
😳
There is nothing strange about this. First, Japanese products usually live long, second, it is not unusual to see electronics from the 80s and 90s still working. For example, we have an Aiwa cassette deck from the eighties or nineties (can't remember exactly) and it still works. We don't use it anymore of course, but it still works.
Please do beats the company that rips you off.
please don't
And Apple
Beats and Apple are like joke companies! I don't get it how people are so stupid to actualy give them money.
Beats is simple, they pay for artists to advertise in music videos so people buy and greatly overcharge for average quality products
V3rciS lol ur just poor apple is one of the biggest companies in the world
Most of the old devices my family used from 2000-10 are Sony, such as CRT, DVD player and a walkman. Nowadays, we use other brands such as Samsung, LG for TVs, Apple for iPhones and Dell, Microsoft for laptops, forgetting that Sony began to fell behind by smaller and younger competitors at that time. The only Sony product I recently have is a PS4 which I got it for my birthday when I turned 12, in which I'm the only person in my family who has purchased a modern Sony product thats released after 2013
Last time I was this early sears and Kmart were still 1&2 largest retailers
I edited that
Thanks for noting
“I love Sony” I was hooked with the bright yellow walk-man and PlayStation
I could go on… I used to have a Sony Xperia before all the android days and that had a stellar camera!
Watching this on my Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium!
PepsiCo bigger than you know plz
What In Carnation? I helped a friend's grandfather paint a break room at a Frito-lay office, and it had never occurred to me how many brands Pesico owns
Michael Waltrip bigger then you know
He already did Pepsi.
Or was it Gatorade?
wait you watch company man???? whaaaaaaat?
They have been a huge player in the home entertainment industry. I watched this video on my Sony Bravia TV, played back through a Sony 7 channel AVR. I also have an older 5 disk CD player..I watch movies on a Sony Blu-ray player. They're everywhere in this household. They make great & affordable home entertainment gear.
I love Sony. It will be the closest company to my heart forever:)
It's definitely one of the biggest companies!!
There's something about sony that I love. They're such a nostalgic company, their logo is so iconic from the 80's and 90's and all the products they make feel like a sony product, it doesn't feel like some americanised version
I've had Sony Xperia phones since 2014 and I wouldn't buy anything else
me too, cant wait for the Xperia 1 to come out
I had no idea there were Sony smart phones until this video. Thought they were all Apple, Samsung, and Google.
I left Sony over a year ago and I miss it, my z2 still works to this day now my farther in law has it, only phone currently that I have had that still works after 5 years other than the pixel 2 I'm currently using, they have made some quality phones over the years my favourite being the original w800i from the Walkman line, it was a powerhouse for its time !! Just feel they are a bit off on what the consumer wants these days, but still make the best looking phones
Watching this on my Xperia XA2 Ultra, I own several Sony products and I got to say they last long.
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S from 2011, works like in its first day.
Good with the game industry, but not with films
Kablstr What games? Those are movies too.
@@NGScoob $60 movies. Hell, games should be sold in 2 discs, one for the movie and one for the actual game play. Or just sell the "movie" aspect for cheaper.
Into the spider verse (the example given in the video) is in my opinion above a ghibli film imo
daddy better make me choke
Back in the day the sony walkman was legit as well. The personal portable tape player.... 😂 Man I'm old but I still remember jamming out back in the 90s
My ps2 slim is 16 years old and still in use today!
Sony used to be one of the best Tv and audio companys out there. They have lost alot of ground to other companys but they still seem to be hanging on

They are still the best

Watching this on my Sony TV casted from my Sony Xperia 1, always been a big Sony fan. Love they equipment
I have always loved Sony products. I had an OG Walkman and a few different versions of their Discman. I have a Sony car stereo, I've had 3 Sony game consoles(I skipped PS3 cause of launch price)and also own a Sony alarm clock.
Thank you for covering SONY. I am a huge Fan of SONY.
THEY MAKE AWESOME PRODUCTS.
CHEERS..
My Sony walkmans in the 80s kept me entertained listening to mixes while riding the bus, train, or playing video games at the arcade room.🕺🏽
My very first brick cell phone was made by Sony, I've always been a fan of their products
Sony was always my brand of choice when it came to headphones. I wonder what kind of hit it took to their sales when the ipod was introduced and the white cord/earbuds factored so heavily into the advertising. Then later how Beats by Dre became so trendy.
I never really had a strong opinion on Sony. That all changed when I got my Sony Xperia 1 MK II. I was so impressed I am now obsessed with Sony.
Switched my Samsung tv to a Bravia, got a Sony compact as my secondary phone, tracking down some old walkmans/discmans, got the over ear XM4's, saving for the in ears as well, was looking forward to a Tesla being my first ev but now looking forward to the Vision-S instead, and last but not least started investing in Sony and added their stock to my M1 Finance portfolio
Great
"At first Sony had a 50/50 partnership with Company X, but later Sony got 100% ownership and renamed it to Sony X"

I love SONY! Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around SONY products. I still remember when my dad was teaching me how to fix VCR's with our old SONY one which led me to tinker around with other tech. I will always be a SONY customer simply due to the fact that they are a quality company with quality products. I'm lowkey thinking about buying their new Walkman. Fun fact: I have been using SONY phones since the SONY Xperia PLAY! :D
SONY is A QUALITY BRAND JUST AS APPLE OR SAMSUNG , MERCEDES BENZ , PORSCHE , BENTLY , you can't go wrong with SONY MOST OF THE TIME !!
you dont say that in public coz it is pretty obvious
Yes Sony is quality brand and more reliable than Samsung and Apple combined their product are top notch.
apple and samsung quality? Lol no
Apple? No.
eget agree with the apple bit, half agree with Samsung
The sony walkman and portable tape player was my first personal introduction to a sony product back in the early 90s. Been loving them ever since.
Walkman was synonymous to portable tape player, in Europe we call all ptp walkmans, but i never own original one. My first product was PSX Playstation One the grayish one, after i bought PS2 because was cheap and DVD playback. I also ownd a Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone, and Xperia Play. PSX and PS2 still usable after yeras, Xperia also. But SE have a propitiatory connector for charging and headphones very fragile
When I think of Sony the thing that comes to my mind immediately is Spider-man. Than the playstation.
My father is 100% Sony fan, from the time he was young until now he has 8 grandchildren his Sony stuff still work... Fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, me and my sibling love sony product too.
I find Sony to be one of the few products that are pure quality. Never been disappointed by their products. Not even one bad experience.
Owning Sony TV, PS4 Pro, Sony XA2, and probably some Sony sound system for the car next :) It's more about trust, it delivers.
I owning Walkman ps4 pro Sony tv 4K oled extra bass headphones laptop and video camera 4k

I still have a year one, fat model PS2. To this day, it still works great. My mom has a Sony branded digital alarm clock that she’s had since 1990 and is still in fantastic condition!
When I hear Sony, I think of digital cameras.
