What do you mean by "Books don't bleed"? Let me remind you of Tom Riddle's diary! I mean, the closest we've been on stabbing a book, is reading about Harry stabbing one. *It* bled, so how do we know all of the other book's don't bleed if we've never done it before?

I hope Book Tags don't die! I love them! These account for some of my favorite videos! Fun tag, shockingly I have never heard of this one before. If I had to sacrifice a book it would likely be one of my random cozy mysteries that I have on on my TBR. I have several that I use as filler for a quick read but if one were to go away I would be okay with it. What would not be sacrificed: Out of prints, my fantasy novels or my manga.

If I had to sacrifice one of my favorite books (!!!!!) to keep the rest I'd choose "Between The Lines." By Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer (The Pain ! ). I love this book (The illustrations are gorgeous) but for the rest of my shelf I would sacrifice it..

    Speaking of classics...
Freshman year we were supposed to read: The Odessy, Romeo and Juliet, catcher and the rye, to kill a Mockingbird, and the great Gatsby.
(O_O) but it was weird we only read the oddesy. I didn't realize how many we skipped until senior year where we were doing a project using these books from previous years (freshman - junior) and I hadn't read any of those cuz my teacher didn't mention them ONCE 😅😅😅 he was a good teacher tho.

From my own bookshelf I would give away Six of Crows, I liked the world and how cinematic it felt, but overall the characters didn't really standout though they tried. It felt like I was just waiting for another backstory to be revealed, when I thought it was going to be a fun heist, found family dynamic. (got drawn in by fan art, that turned out to be not fan art!)
The book I despise most is The Doldrums, I picked it up because the cover showed three kids on an iceberg surrounded by old fashioned luggage. I was in the mood for an adventure, there was no adventure. I was betrayed. Those kids never got stranded on an iceberg they just had a shopping trip. Why was there no adventure? the book promised adventure!

we're not judging you if you don't read all that many classics, I've always hated "reader shame". It's always interesting when american booktubers talk about classics because in England classics tend to be a lot older. Like a Wrinkle in time was published in the 1960s, and I think the last classic I read was Lorna Doone which was published in the 1860s.

    @AKookieForYou 5 років тому

I'm the same way!!! I've never 100% hated a book either; I can always manage to find something good in the sea of dislike for a book.
I also wasn't a big fan of Turtles All The Way Down (thank God I've found someone who can see the flaws too!). The mystery felt like a side story, when in the synopsis it seemed like it was going to be so much bigger. And I hated Daisy as a character. But I really appreciated and respected all the bits about Aza's anxiety as someone who suffers from anxiety too.
If I had to sacrifice a fav to save everything I think I'd choose... Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive Part 1 (combined ver. of book 1 and half of book 2). I love that whole trilogy, but book 1 is a different version from book 2, so I'd just replace it with the newer edition.
P.S. Great video Jessie, keep up the good work! ^^

I honestly can't think of a single book that I wouldn't be willing to part with, as long as it's not in a series. But yeah, I'd sacrifice any of my standalones, I think...

This is so hard! But if it counts, I'd definitely sacrifice The Cursed Child, no question because it creates so many problems and inaccuracies in the HP world

If I had to... Either The Maze Runner or Cinder. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t get attached to either of these books. I might still try to read them, but for now they’re not my favorite

A classic that I didn't really like would have to be the great gatsby by f Scott Fitzgerald like yeah the characters are interesting and the issues addressed are cool but overall it just did nothing for me. Like I felt underwhelmed the entire way through and didn't feel like much of note took place tbh. Unfortunately I have to do my leaving cert comparative study on it in June soooo wish me luck

In truth, I have no problem answering these questions because even if I can find something to like about a book I know I’ll never truly like it or read it again. My most hated book of all time has to be “A Tale of Two Cities” by Charles Dickens. There are other books by him so we’ll be fine with one less. The favorite book I’d burn is “A Day No Pigs Would Die” because the audiobook with Lincoln Hoppe is perfection and I could listen to his voice for any book.

That is an interesting question you pose, at least for me as i don't usually keep the physical books too much after reading them. If I had to give up a favorite book that i have to save the rest it would probably be Roald Dahl books or at least Charlie and the Chocolate factory as i have them since i remember really enjoying the books that i read of his from school and wanted to revisit some and check out some of the ones that i didn't know about back in the day.
Another option would be the Redwall books series that i have both in audio book and physical (haven't finished the physical ones though). As much as I love the parts of the series that i have experienced there's enough other fantasy books to keep me occupied that i wouldn't mind giving them up to save the rest, especially if they were going to something like a library, used book store, etc so that someone else could find and read them.

Jesse, I totally understand how you feel about Turtles All The Way Down. Love your videos! ☺ As for a classic I would recommend Anne of Green Gables.
