In the classic DOOM games, there was no aiming point in the center of the screen, there was no aim control, just commands to control and move the character's direction, so all you had to do was shoot in the direction of the enemy, and all the enemies that were in the direction of the weapon took damage regardless of whether it was above or below the weapon/character.
That's called hitscan targeting. Some of the enemies had it as well like the chain gunner. Duke Nukem 3D's enemies were hitscan as well.
Which is why enemies in those games could hit you from odd positions across the map. As long as there is a line of site.
Verticality does exist in DOOM. It's not an illusion. What there is is a very strong aim assist.
If you ADS it does more damage because of the pellet spread
This made the game 10x more fun for me. Instead of drop shoting and all that sweaty shit. I can turn off my brain, bot walk around and hip fire as if it were a doom game. And actually get kills.
How about that? FPS games are more fun when they're like Doom. I think there's a lesson to be learned here.

The reason why there is no cross hair is because since the shotgun is at the center of the screen all you have to do is line up the barrel with the person you're trying to shoot

I agree on John Wick and Resident Evil, especially the latter. I think Jill is a better (and more realistic) pick than Alice though. Maybe Chris and Jill for SpecGru and Wesker and Ada for KorTac.

@scoutwaffle6125 I'd love HUNK, in fact, I think units like USS, UBCS, and BSAA would make great mil-sims, I'm just going off of the most realistic/likely choices. Then again, I'd say HUNK is also very likely as he is also very popular and fits the aesthetic.
It is not that broken you have to remember that you shoot both barrels at the same time that is why it seems more powerful.

It’s crazy the triggers for an ABSOLUTE NERF not even one day after the bundle comes out. I guarantee the bundle was made that way (to both get the money and why you can change attachments or use a different secondary) all on purpose. They k we a lot of people wouldn’t have it leveled up by the time the bundle came out so they held it over people’s heads like “you can buy this for the special triggers” but not mention the fine print: can’t change attachments.
