  • In this adventure we head out to Tasmania's remote West Coast to compressor dive the deep pools that lay hidden away in the rainforest. We'll be using battery operated dive compressors to access the rich alluvial gold deposits on the bottom of the streams. Thanks to Bluetti for sending me an portable power station EB55 and Solar Panel PV200 we can recharge the compressor batteries on site, and leave the worry of power behind and focus on getting as much gold as we can.

Wow mate what a mission! I have been researching these type of powerpacks and bluetti looks best in class by far.
The lifepo4 is next level and doesn't look to contain cobalt which the lithium ion does and the cobalt mining is an absolute disaster in the congo. So better product and much friendlier way of sourcing.
Ps never seen anyone packraft upriver 😆

Tasmania looks beautiful but you know i find it weird I have never even seen a squirel or even asnake on any videos in that area. I wanted to go to Guatemala to look for gold, they have nothing but snakes down there.

Could you make some kind of 'hikible' weight belt with pockets that you can load up with river stones on-site? Or would it just not be as good as lead?

I have seen grown men fill there wetsuits with river stones trying to avoid the battle of carrying in weight belts. The truth is.. its not so bad, its just heavy but its such a good workout for your legs and building strength in them.

It is possible to dowse for gold on a boat to locate the most concentrated pockets of placer gold. The reverse engineered physics of dowsing with, and how to build, the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod is explained in the book, The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95). You can become a professional dowser by practicing the book's dowsing lessons. I hope dowsing enriches your life and have a safe, healthy, good day.

Latic acid…sore muscles can be relieved by using apple cider vinegar. In an ideal situation, a cup of vinegar to a tub of hot water, soaking for a half hour works wonders. Don’t know how it works at a campsite, but it might help to have a liter on hand to massage full strength on the sore areas.

This may be a dumb idea, but ditch the compressor. Attach a long flexible hose to your snorkel. Attach a float to the above water end of the pipe and just have a really long snorkel. It seems dumb, but would mean a whole lot less gear and the flexible hose would mean moving about would not be an issue. If there is strong current, a bit of rope to the float from the bank will hold the flexi pipe in position.

Hi Rob, I think you are on the wrong tack as all the nuggets are well-rounded, which means the source is further upstream and it is the source that you need to find. check the wear on your nuggets and give them a mark out of 10 as to the degree of rounding, then proceed to a higher site and check again until you reach the source and it's Bonanza time.
