Melissa is probably one of the most humble chefs in all of the Top Chef seasons. It seemed like she was surprised every time she won. She stayed true to herself in Season 17. I wish I could have tasted her food all season!!!
Melissa is one of my favorite cheftestants and I was so glad she came back to All Stars and DOMINATED the season. And yet, she remained the same humble person that she is, only more confident in what she can do
Congrats to Melissa. I knew she was going to win in this season from the start. She cooks with her heart of understanding using food to link different cultures together. She is super talented, she is not just cooking, she is expressing in a much deeper human emotion and feeling that not everyone can expressed thru food. If your Dad approves of you, it is OK. If your Dad does not approve of you, it is OK, too. That is his limitation and his journey to grow, not yours. You are living in your true self, there is no need for any approval from anyone, including your parents, friends, children, etc. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Thank you Thank you.
Rooted for Melissa all of season 12, so excited to see her win. One of the most deserved finale victories in Top Chef history, and when that Italian butcher cried, I cried with him!
I loved this season of Top Chef. There was no in-fighting or drama, and you could tell all the chefs really looked out for each other. What sets this show apart is that the focus stays on the cooking talent and does not do stunts or create chaos for views. I'm so happy for Melissa. Already can't wait for next season!
I'm so happy for Melissa! ♡ I think she grew the most from her original season. Everyone kind of came in with the same level of skills they had before but I actually saw her growth. She was so good all season! Definitely the most deserving out of all the previous winners so far on Top Chef! ❤
Just finished watching top Chef on hulu and I'm so happy Melissa won!! She deserved it. She blend two cultures together and made beautiful dishes. It's so inspiring and original. Can't wait for her to open a restaurant one day. No matter how far it is from Ohio I will take my family there. Congrats
“I’m proud of you.” Period. I’ve followed Melissa since Ep 12. This video brings it all together. It brought me tears. I really wish you all the best Melissa.
She is unequivocally one of if not THE best and most gifted and talented chef "Top Chef" has ever had the pleasure of having on its show; I see many a Michelin Star in her future...
7:32 the way her mother stares at her makes me cry. To be shunned by your father, but supported by mom... I can tell her mother is beyond proud of her baby Edit: I think padma's tears also come from Asian culture empathy. Dad being so hard and later dismissive of their asian children. It's heartbreaking
Let us know whose Top Chef journey you'd like to see next? 👨🍳 👩🍳
Kristen Kish
Stephanie Izzard, the first female top chef.
Stephanie Cmar, Karen Akunowitz (sp?), Kevin Gillespie, Kristen Kish
Kristen Kish for sure!
Literally anyone and everyone

Her and Kristin both had those attitudes, surprise, not rubbing it in, never threw people under the bus to save themselves, took accountability.
Richard Blais, Brooke Williamson, Melissa King, Kristen Kish, Michael Voltaggio, and Buddha Lo. Probably the best winners this show has ever had.
It's like Padma really held back tears when she announced Melissa as Top Chef.

SO happy for Melissa. But uh, can we talk about how stunning she is for a second? What a natural beauty.
Melissa’s mom was so cute and funny! She couldn’t stop crying at the finale and was overjoyed!

they only let her win because she was a yellow woman. they play the race card like a lot of these shows

All of these shows created stunts for views…
So happy Melissa won!! She's the sweetest dimples and best chef! I also really liked Stephanie and Bryan and Gregory.

this show is awesome and very unique 2 because it's like no other show I've ever watched before.
Her mother and stepfather were regulars at the restaurant I used to work at. I serve them often. They were a really nice couple
