Im so confused why people be mad when others seek medical treatment. Whether its minor or major its still injury. If production say to go Im not gonna risk not having my wound properly looked at.
@C L correct me if i'm wrong but if someone suggests you need stitches i don't think bandages will be able to help enough. especially if you're dealing with food and don't wanna get your blood in it.
@C L Also risking the chance for blood to get on the food, especially since they were serving a huge group of people along with children is not something that production would want to risk.
Also hand injuries even if small can require emergency surgery if you hit or severe a tendon. Plus they bleed a lot it's a safety hazard to everyone involved.
Damage to one’s hands when one’s a chef is critical. How she cut her hand could have been more serious than others realize. If She had seriously damaged her hand and stayed they would have told her she was dumb and too bad. I am pretty sure she knew she wasn’t the best chef there and choose the wisest option for herself.
I loved Jen in her original season. But this meltdown was shocking. The judges were justified in sending her home. Standing up for your dish is one thing. Being hostile and disrespectful in the face of criticism of your dish... in a show that is about judging people on their dishes...is beyond the pale. Their criticisms were based only on the food they were served. Her barbs toward the judges were more personal and showed a lack of professionalism. However, I have to believe this meltdown had more to do with something going on in her personal life. She was nothing but professional and poised in her original season on the show. This behavior came out of nowhere.
It doesn’t matter how she acted in the previous season. Her true colors showed in this one. She was beyond disrespectful and childish and deserved to leave
If you question the judges like that, you're gonna be put in your place fast. That said, Jennifer is one of the stronger chefs we've seen on TC, so I get the frustration and disappointment.
She acted with the arrogance of someone who you can't teach...she wouldn't listen to the Judges, and told them that she was right and they were wrong....What else did she expect to happen? When her dad sees her behavior, he'll tell her that she got second to last because she doesn't know how to be humble and keep her mouth shut....
As someone who grew up in restaurants, ANY injury needs to be handle immediately not just ducked tape or whatever. Blood cant be in food. So terrible of these people.
@@maxx6381 ever seen a nitrile glove fill up with blood and then burst? It would be even worse than just tainting one dish it would legitimately contaminate the whole kitchen
Jamie is always a cop out. Remember the chick peas when she refused to send her food because they weren't ready? Someone got sent home when she literally gave the judges nothing. She was like an escape artist and always pointed elsewhere as well.
Seeing Jens attitude towards the judges really says a lot about her. Stuck up, hard headed, and unable to see anything wrong with what she made for the judges.
she took a challenge and try to do too much on it because Jaime cut herself I agree she shouldn't.wenr.gome.but I feel like this episode they sent her home because of her attitude which is very uncommon on this show
That portion was all theater. She likely didn't have a choice as the producers, for variety of reasons, wouldn't let her go on in the kitchen with that wound if medical told them she needed to go to hospital for stitches.
She went home for wet bacon. I love almost every1 in season 8 All-stars and their all great chefs. Jen had no back up. She is better than that but it's about the food they show or potential. Turning that braise into a sauce???
I don’t think I feel comfortable hearing these people talking about how they’re cutting appendages and having blood loss and they’re fine with it while they’re preparing food people have to consume…😬
EXACTLY! Even though Jen’s attitude was bad I still thought her elimination was unfair as well as Spike’s! At least they participated in the challenge! Jamie should have been home sooner!
I was shocked at her elimination and then shocked when she kissed Mike on the lips. I remember thinking they were like dating or something and Googling it when I first saw it lol
Even though Jennifers attitude was awful I still didn’t think her elimination was fair. Jamie was the one who chose to sit out because of her finger which she could have easily moved on from!
This is a huge reason why the restaurant industry is such a horrible industry to work in, in any other industry it would be unheard of to tell an employee not to seek medical attention when they’re injured.
@@NovaLena22 the flip side is also true. None of her teammates pulled her aside and said "duct tape it and keep playing". Everyone is in it for themselves.

When I saw this when it first aired, I thought she cut her thumb like where it connected to the hand and I was like: ;yeah that's pretty serious, she should get stitches" but looking at it now, it was just on the thumb? like she could have bandaged it and finish her part? but everyone's pain tolerance is different and same with how they want to heal. sadly i probably would have just bandaged my thumb because of the pressure even though I'm one to take care of my injuries asap

Theres definitely some truth to that, however unless you're in her shoes on national tv and show that level of excellence, its easy to criticize

If you fight for a dish that clearly was lackluster and was poorly executed, you show what your standards are.
Clearly? You didn't taste i so you don't know.
Have you worked for eric ripert or a 3 star Michelin chef or done the same in your field at that level of excellence?
Yup.
The dish was what she wanted it to be, and the judges just didn't like it. That doesn't make it "clearly lackluster."
