I use Microsoft OneNote and Outlook to manage my desk and calendar. thank you for this video, it make me realise i am not alone with the stresses of managing persons visiting my boss with or without an appointment.
Great video, very informative and motivating for we beginners, these women are great role models to follow. I wish to see more educating videos about PA from experienced people like these beautiful and professional women. 👍🏽

Hi. I am about to get into the EA position this first week of November (be in training too) and I am honestly really really really terified of how would I work since this isn't in line with my degree in education. Can you like, give me ideas of what to do? Like, do you take care of like pulling their lugguages, etc. kind of thing? My friend told me I might need to. I am completely excited but more terrified of the ideas along with it. Thank you for the help.
@@autumn8635 I would suggest to take online courses on scheduling and planning as well as time management as much as possible. Also since you are training at the moment ask questions as much as you can even if you think the question is stupid ask it. Also, try to build a relationship with your manager where there is trust and understanding and always think of it as someone you are helping to get through the day or month. Always make sure to prepare things ahead Don't wait until your manager to ask you about that summary or file or report or schedule. It's all about keeping things ready for the go to your boss. It's not hard and not easy too It's about commitment. The good thing is that your are being trained so just accept the fact that this is your job for now and if you don't like it you can always try something else. And being nervous is normal, making mistakes is normal. But try to be detail oriented and double check everything. You can do this 💪 if you end up loving your job it will be so much fun since you are not stuck in a boring routine.
The quadrant is really good, I work for social services and use it to organise how and where I put things in, I also topic, such as safeguarding, report writing etc
Quick question, I just started in a new role for a SVP of a major financial services company. The one thing he stressed to me was that he is very high functioning and likes to have his fingers in many things so he's instructed me to double and triple book him for meetings so that he can send a delegate to the meetings that he doesn't attend, and then he can circle back to the delegate for info on the meeting. All of this is fine in theory but my dilemma is how do I provide a balanced day/week/month for him if I don't know where he is.
I'm infatuated with this. I recently enjoyed a similar book, and I was truly infatuated with it. "Dominating Your Clock: Strategies for Professional and Personal Success" by Anthony Rivers
I think the one question I would want to be answered is, "What is a PA to do when they've realized they've done something wrong? How do they fix it/handle it?" if anyone can offer advice I'd really appreciate it.
In my experience, it’s best to be honest & open about the situation & to try to see what went wrong & how you could have better handled the situation & to express all of this to your boss. I recently was tasked to get visas for 2 of my 3 bosses and I ended up wasting their money on tourist visas when tourist visas now have been suspended for traveling to KSA. We are now in the process of getting them business visas which takes more time & is more expensive. They will hold this ‘grudge’ at me forever surely but it’s best to try see (again) what exactly went wrong on my end & how to prevent it from happening again.
First, imagine yourself. If someone made a similar mistake on you, how would you appreciate them to handle it? Some of this depends on company culture and how bad the mess up is. Some companies are more open and some cultures you really do need to keep it quiet whenever possible. If you notice it first-just fix it. Mistakes happen all the time, no big deal. If it’s something that someone else brings to your attention, thank them; apologize BRIEFLY and sincerely but not overly; If you don’t understand why it was a mistake, or don’t know how to fix it-ask for clarification. If the damage is already done, apologize to the relevant parties and make a note or system for yourself to prevent that from happening again.
@@OhHiMish I hope they don’t hold it against you forever. It’s not your fault they were suspended and it sounds like they didn’t originally specify business visas. If they hold it over your head too long-find another job.
MaskedHEROxx I went to the App Store and searched “Accompany” and located the app discussed in this video.
