He attended high school in the United States and graduated from Koç University, Department of Business Administration. He received his master's degree from Boğaziçi University, where he graduated first in his class, and began his doctoral studies at the Department of Political Science and International Relations. He is the head of Khan Academy Turkey, which provides education to over 150 million registered students in 190 countries. He has also served as the General Manager of STFA Group's Education Foundation. Köksal has contributed to national and international projects in the fields of education, technology and social responsibility, and was deemed worthy of the TOYP "Service to Humanity and Voluntary Organizations" Award and nominated for the first place in the world. He is the term representative of Koç University Alumni Association and a member of the Executive Sector Board of Turkish Informatics Association and continues to serve as a board member in various NGOs.
