Aristides are in a word, incredible. The workmanship and the feel are superb. Also they have the best customer service in the industry. One warning though, if you try one you will want one...or two. I hit the booth in this video and was so taken by them that I ordered one right there.

Thought it seemed interesting until I looked the price. If I was going to lay out that much on a crazy guitar I think I'd go for something luthier made.

While you need a luthier to make the prototype after that it’s surely just a production line in that they are reusing the same mould, in the same way that you need a luthier to make the prototype so that they can feed the data into a CNC machine. Unless I’m completely misunderstanding this, that just seems no different from any other guitar production line, other than the fact they are using composites instead of wood and moulding instead of carving.
