    So relieved to have stumbled upon your video as I'm attempting to write up the findings of my Thematic Analysis...the realization of what an 'iterative process' is😮

      I'm so glad you found the video helpful! It's completely normal to feel anxious about the findings chapter-it's such an important part of your work. Remember to take it one step at a time, focus on clearly presenting your results, and try not to be too hard on yourself. You’ve got this, and your hard work will pay off. Keep going!

    Thank you, very helpful video. Tip 7 : Present the data well. Do you happen to have another video or other resources to discuss the organization of the chapter? I just watched the video on "should you refer back to the literature" which was really helpful.

      I'm so pleased you found the video helpful, welcome to my channel! I don't have any videos specifically about this yet (although I've added this to our videos-to-make list!) but Part 8 of my PhD Survival Guide series is all about the findings chapter. Helpful, thanks - I'm just reaching the findings stage and this is useful - I particularly like the advice on ethics and the challenge of including but not including statements, as many of my quotes are likely to be in that category.

      Glad it was helpful! Yes, it can certainly be tricky to navigate ethics and transparency in qualitative findings chapters. All the best with your research, do feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

    Hi, i want to ask, if i summarized my findings into a table - with main theme, subthemes and theirs specific extracts, how do i interpret it further? Is it good if i just explain the themes and subthemes, whitout pointing to specific qoute/extract?

    • @DegreeDoctor
      @DegreeDoctor  5 місяців тому

      If you've summarised your findings into a table with themes and subthemes, it's like showing your examiner the map of your journey. Explaining the themes and subthemes without specific quotes is like giving them the highlights reel-concise and to the point. But sprinkling in some specific quotes is like adding vivid snapshots along the way-it helps paint a clearer picture and brings your findings to life. Ultimately, make sure your interpretation showcases the depth of your analysis and demonstrates your thorough understanding of the data.
