Warrior feels so much better to play this phase. I still feel like other tanks have better toolkits, but thats probably just because they're closer to their final form than warriors. I really hope when we get to 60 there is a rune that converts +def to +damage/threat for abilities like thunderclap. We're the only tanking class that doesn't have a rune that gives us immunity to crit, so all other tanks can swap to more DPS gear builds depending on content whereas warriors are locked to prot gear to remain uncrittable, so I think something like this would really help. And it would feel good that when you were more tanky gear you become a better tank. I'd also like some kind of version of Damaging Shield as a rune. Whenever you block you do damage to the target depending on your block value. Just something to give us a similar effect to immolation aura or ligntening shield.
Shield Slam is not doing more damage, as I'm getting more "block value" on gear as a Protection Warrior, which must be a bug. Otherwise there is no reason for the new Plate set that focuses on block value. Hope to see a fix for Shield Slam damage scaling with block value soon.
I got a tier token the other night out of Here, and I went with the DPS chest wasn’t sure to get the tank set or the DPS set as it had more base stats and has a wind fury proc built in
I think either set would work, depending on how you want to spec. The tanking set provides a LOT of extra damage for shield slam which is most likely going to be your 2nd highest damage ability which comes with a lot of extra threat. The DPS set gives more base stats which warriors scale with well and the chance to get an extra attack will generate more threat which means more DPS. Personally, I went with the tank set because it comes with more survivability and ST seems to be more focused on surviving than DPS checks.
Tank set is a waste. Once everyone is geared, you're going to need the stats + extra swings, plus raw stats are bis for stacking with WBs. DPS set is the way to go.@@CrushingPeanuts
Really no good reason to go prot in this phase. The only reason is that you really like the "sword and board" rune style of gameplay and want to press shield slam on procs. 13/28/0 and using glad stance is absolutely the way. If you need to be tankier use defensive stance. If you need to be even tankier use stoneshield potion. The mitigation offered from the protection tree is very small, and the damage that you sacrifice from not getting deep wounds just isn't worth it. Lets assume that the bosses don't always have homunculi up on them, then improved demo shout gives more mitigation than the entire prot tree, and you still wouldn't take that.
True, but Vigilance also provides 3% damage reduction for whoever you put it on. So, you can put it on the OT to help him survive better and refresh taunt in case boss resists it or even a healer for survival.
With vigilance on a big aoe dps + Furious thunder + demoshout you should be fineyou might still lose threat on a few mob react fast on your taunt and it should be good
Having Vigilance on best AOE DPS while Thunder Clapping on CD with Rune and using shouts like the other replies said. If I lose a mob, I usually taunt and then shield slam it then go back to the AOE stuff, but it doesn't always work out with the whole single targeting a mob and by the time you get it back you lose 3 more thing..
0:55 3400 hp is kinda low. I have 5000 on my shaman just with fortitude and mark, imp blood. I know you don't have the 30% hp scaling but still, maybe you're not prioritizing stamina enough
So funny that on the background video he’s loosing aggro constantly. And that is the feeling I have. No matter what I do how I skill. Warris don’t hold aggro against good dps
Warrior single target threat is one of the highest if not the highest in the game currently. The only way you're taking aggro off of a good warrior tank right now is a bad string of dodge/block/parry from the boss. We still struggle with aoe threat but can do decent with improved tclap and vigilance. Realistically though you just let a shaman, warlock or bear tank the trash and you pump.
Your warrior guides are so refreshing. They are about to make me swap back to warrior main this phase from lock tank.
Dont do it.
Really appreciate your work. Keep em coming!

great guide my man , wish we can get a bis gear list

Isn't it based on your shields block not total?
Does Defiance Talent work in Gladiator Stance or no @sanmedina ?
nope, that's why they go fury
Phase 3 Hype Phase 3 Hype!

Any pre raid or bis list for warrior tanking?
why dont anyone on warcraft logs go this spec, even wowhead says its not viable/ not recommended
Are you using plate now? Or are you using gear with better stats like mail and leather
I think this phase plate gear is acctually BiS for us
The comments here just remind me this is
Season of discovering how to play cookie cutter builds on throwaway content everyone wants to rush through.
Wouldnt Deep Wounds be stronger in any case? :)
You wouldn't be able to get shield slam, so you lose 200% threat gen
Give us the bear back!!! 😢 I main the bear and it’s fine trust me! I would love to see more bear content
I dont think i can take another heartbreak man
@@sanmedina Bear has mangle+lacerate now :D At the SAME TIME! Also lacerate threat majorly buffed!
Bro you dont need vigilance with this build, in a couple a shield slams you are waaaay ahead in threat. I tried it yesterday at ST

@@CrushingPeanuts If you put vigilance on OT he's never gonna be able to keep threat when he needs to
Really don't like everyone except aoe tanking to be on the tank all the time when they start blasting AoE's
How to hold AOE Threat ? how to keep agro on crowd ?
Reroll lol. Nah but you're best bet is having the thunderclap rune and spamming that on CD and pressing aoe shouts Battle/Demo on GCD
Press demo shout alot and use Thunder pants rune

I'm at 3400 unbuffed on my Warrior 😂
With boon i have 5k, but in proggression you cant be booned every fight
So funny that on the background video he’s loosing aggro constantly. And that is the feeling I have. No matter what I do how I skill. Warris don’t hold aggro against good dps
You are simply never going to hold aggro on trash, thats what the other tank is for
@@sanmedina wasn’t it u who made a video with the explanation how easy you can hold aoe now with vigilance? 😂
