I think it all depends on their wiring. If they are wired to protect they will protect the herd no matter what. No matter if you pet them or not. And you can get a dog that may come from great stock but doesn't have the wiring and won't do the job. Now you may use him/her for breeding but it is best to use another wired the way you need.
Thank you I am looking forward to watching the documentaries, we lost our ducks and some chickens to bobcats here in Florida on our little acre homestead.
Glad to see a new upload from you. But to be honest, Greg Judy is vastly more interesting to me than the Vermont guy, just a ton more knowledge and experience. Though, I guess the Morgan guy could talk at length about how to alienate his neighbors, which apparently he’s pretty good at.
I much rather watch Morgan as Greg's scale of farming is unattainable to me and Morgan's admitted lack of a farming background lets me learn from his mistakes.
@dagmarfrerking2235 What greg does is scalable. I have 17 acres and use his exact practices. From fencing to water lines to rotational plans. Would work on 5 acres. Idk what the guy in the great white north does that is scalable.
Gold Shaw farm put that hunter's real name on yt and he started getting death threats. Whether you agree with bear hunting or not, that crossed a line.
@@ChickensAndGardeninghow didn’t the hunter deserve that? He ran a bear onto Morgan’s active working bird farm. The dogs or bear could’ve caused immense damage to his flock. The hunter deserved far worse than to have his identity known.
Thank you for this information and would love to see more about your homestead
Greg Judy was the inspiration for us to start our Farm and our channel! He is a wealth of knowledge

THANK you! Great info on guardian dogs

Very well put, one being right doesn't have to mean the other is wrong
Indeed! It's all about context.
Excellent information. Thanks for all your hard work getting this information out. Take care, see ya :)
Thanks, Danielle

Thanks for watching, Jo Jo!
😊👍
The homestead guy didn't say how does he keep the dogs with the live stock and not looking for humans instead.

Oy vey, don’t you know hunting dogs should be banned!
